Hey ,

@Karima, Hello!
Zena
4:15
What is the hardest aspect during the transition from College/sixth form to University?
AvatarShauni Sanderson
4:16
@Anonymous hello, it depends on a lot of factors! Your application, predicted grades, personal statement, reference, interview, BMAT/UKCAT scores! If you apply to Leeds via the Access to Leeds scheme this will not affect how your application is viewed!

What happens if you miss a part of the "get set for uni" event, will it occur more than once?
AvatarHaaroon
4:16
@Alexandra, email the inbox, reachforexcellence@leeds.ac.uk, and I will check what strand you are on and answer your other enquiry :)

Does it matter which colour event you do as long as it’s three?
Bushra
4:16
Do you have to mention in your application to a university that you're planning on taking a gap year?
AvatarShauni Sanderson
4:17
@Hassan, if lots of students are unable to attend Part one in February, we may be able to run a repeat in Easter. We'll also be running Get Set For Uni Part 2 in Easter!
AvatarHaaroon
4:17
@Murshal, no the block colours for events don't matter. It's more the number of events you attend

@Shafrin, please email the inbox directly regarding the opportunities fund! Be aware though, this fund doesn't launch until after the February Half Term events have finished on the 22nd February. You’ll be able to submit an application for funding from then, and you’ll receive all the information you need to do this during the course of the week. Submitting an application does not guarantee you funding.

hey , I wanted to ask because we’re on this reach for excellence scheme do we automatically get on to access to Leeds or do we have to re apply .
AvatarMolly
4:17
@Bushra Yes - on your ucas form you would defer entry. We will talk through this with you during easter events - its a little early to look at UCAS currently

Another q: opportunities funding is a max of £200, how do I apply and what exactly is it for?
AvatarMolly

@Nimrah - Hi :)

Hey, is there a confirmation if you get a place on a specific event after you have applied?
AvatarShauni Sanderson
4:18
@Karima, yes! We'll ask you to complete a short form confirming you want to transfer at the beginning of Y13, and the team will support you moving onto Access to Leeds
Becca

Hi @Molly, one degree I've been looking into is audiology, and i was just curious is there going to be any events based on this or wi
AvatarMolly
4:18
@Anonymous, please see the response above, and email the inbox directly for anything to do with the Opportunities fund! :)
@Guest - filling in our booking form does not guarantee you a place on the event. As we explained on induction day, you will receive booking confirmations next week once the form has closed
AvatarHaaroon

@Karima, do plenty of mock interview practice with friends and family, research topics in dentistry and do wider reading. We also have an event called Careerability which is all about interview skills, so attend that!
AvatarMatthew John

Hi @Zena. Good question, we'll deal with this a bit on some of the RfE sessions themselves. In my opinion one of the hardest things is being left to organise yourself a lot more than at school/college. You'll also be expected to do a lot more independent reading/research around the subject.

Hi
AvatarShauni Sanderson
4:19
@Becca hi! We'll be offering healthcare related events in Easter - look out for events relating to clinical skills. These will be useful for Audiology
Nomi

Are we emailed when events are happening? And also where do we go when attending the university for an event?
AvatarMolly

@Ivanilsa Hi :)
Becca

Also, I was wondering whether there is any way of accessing this webchat when its finished so i can look over some of the information?

How do you find out which strand you're on?
Zena

Thank you @Matthew John
AvatarShauni Sanderson

@Nomi yes, we'll contact you primarily via email from now on. Keep an eye on your inbox for future events. We send instructions on where to meet for events/times in your booking confirmation. These are going out next Wednesday for Feb Half Term events :)
