Breakout seems to be the prevailing bet.
I like him. Relievers are notoriously fickle though.

Could John Gant find a way to saves this year?
Brad Johnson
4:38
Seems like a third or fifth choice tbh
He's more of a multi-inning, spot-start guy to me.

is it too early in ottoneu for guys like Marco Luciano and Julio Rodriguez? I'm a first time player in this format and inherited a messy team, which i promptly blew up for young big leaguers and prospects. I know i won't be too competitive this year, especially pitching-wise, but I wanted to put my own blueprint on the team. Is loading up on prospects and hopefully trading a few for pitching as my team becomes more competitive a reasonable strategy? thx and sorry for the essay

Not if you get them for $1 or $2
4:39
Otherwise, they'll get pretty costly as they catch stray arb dollars in the lead up to their debut.
And if they're delayed at all by injury or tepid performance, that only adds to the cost.

hey brad.  agonizing over my last keeper.  please help.  12 man 5X5 roto auction league ($300 at auction).   $19 villar, $32 rendon or $41 story?   For reference, a first round hitter like story will go for around $45-50
Brad Johnson
4:40
that IS a difficult final trio. You must have some amazing keeps. I think you go by your needs.
4:41
If it's speed with a splash of power, Villar. If it's AVG and run production with a bit of power, Rendon. If it's I NEED EVERYTHING then Story.
4:42
Villar has the most surplus potential. Rendon is the safest choice, especially if you aren't fretting about SB.

Think Carlson cracks the starting outfield for the Cards this year?
Brad Johnson
4:42
At some point. Not early on.
Bummer
4:42
You brought him up - how much do you like him? I have him in a saves + holds dynasty league and I think he's a relatively valuable reliever
Brad Johnson
4:42
I like him a lot as a sort of Zack Britton wannabe.
4:43
btw, if you're spamming questions and I'm not responding, that means I'm either too far in the past or I skipped over them while skimming to the present.
I get hundreds of questions and can't touch every topic.

Take a flyer on kopech for 2020?
Brad Johnson
4:44
Yes. A flier is appropriate. I'm not ready to lead the bandwagon just yet, but I will reserve a seat.

2020: Luzardo vs McKay?
Brad Johnson
4:44
Easy Luzardo for me.

how does it feel to be public enemy #1 of NFBC?
Brad Johnson
4:44
Pretty good! They're a surly bunch huh?
4:45
tbf, only like 3 or 4 people gave me any crap. One of them used 2 screen names.

MITHC. Do you like the show or naw?
Brad Johnson
4:46
Haven't gotten around to watching any of it. Not a compelling premise.
I like full fledged fantasy not re-cast reality.

What about Joey Gallo
Brad Johnson
4:46
He's amazing
Jimmy

Keep 1: Kimbrel, Hansel Robles or Julio Urias.
Brad Johnson
4:46
Urias.
Very easy choice imo

Now that it has been a few weeks .... Mathew Liberatore's move to St. Louis .... do you see that as a positive move or would he have been better going forward had the trade not occurred?
Brad Johnson
4:47
So, anytime you see a touted prospect moved in this sort of mid-tier, shuffle assets kind of trade, it makes me (and everyone) question if we're overtouting the prospect
4:48
On the flip side of the coin, the Cardinals are much cleaner org for Lib to rise through
The Rays go nuts on asset management. It's frustrating to watch.
