What’s your general auction strategy and $ split? I’m thinking specifically of a 12 tm obp h2h league. Thanks!
Brad Johnson
4:26
I tend to go much heavier on ace SP than most. Range anywhere from 30/70 to 60/40 hitter/SP. Depends on prices and other factors.

Hey Brad! Thanks for the chat. 5x5 OBP instead of average, 12 teams.  Who are you targeting with pick 11 and 14 (not looking for pitching with these picks)
Brad Johnson
4:27
Honestly, there are so many good players at that spot in the draft. I'm observing no consensus after Turner/Arenado at #3/4
4:28
So take who you like of Harper, Bryant, Stanton, Judge, Ramirez, Machado, Correa, Blackmon, Lindor, etc etc.
A bunch more fit in there.

is it crazy to draft nick senzel over shohei ohtani (SP) in my prospect draft?
Brad Johnson
4:28
Nope, Ohtani is a pitcher
never crazy to prefer a hitter
4:29
Plus Ohtani already has the elbow red flag

W Myers and a decent prospect a reasonable return for J Turner (LAD) in a dynasty league (H2H, OBP)? Need an OF, have depth at 3B.
Brad Johnson
4:29
Yes, quite reasonable. Feel free to share the prospect in the future :)

4:29
Richards or Taillon if draft cost is similar? This year only
Brad Johnson
4:29
That's a push for me

A similar location within The Glob

What percentage of these questions have enough information for you to provide a valid response?
Brad Johnson
4:31
I'll estimate 30%, but 80% provide just enough for me to feel like my advice is useful. And if you write paragraphs explaining everything in detail, I'm likely to skip it
it's a fine line you, the reader, must walk

Is Matt Harvey "back"?
Brad Johnson
4:31
Cautious optimism is called for
Big Tuna
4:31
Maybe I didn't watch enough Twins games last year, but how real is Eddie Rosario?
Brad Johnson
4:31
Eh, don't get caught in the helium. He's a solid player.
Gary Sanchez
4:32
Ottoneu FGPTS- Cut $1 Headley for $2 Hunter Greene? Currently probably a top 4 team.
Brad Johnson
4:32
Unless you're desperate for sub-replacement 3B PA, yes
Spencer
4:32
What kind of season do you see Nick Williams having? ETA for Senzel?
Brad Johnson
4:32
I figure we see Senzel by mid-May
4:33
Williams is extremely volatile. He may range from barely played to low-end Adam Jones season
Williams actually has speed too, but he doesn't steal bases. So don't expect that dimension

Follow-up to the Moustakas question: how are you treating the FA starters yet to sign in fantasy? How much tune-up time will Arrieta, Lynn, etc. need with no (or limited) Spring Training? Reduce projected stats by a factor of x%?
Brad Johnson
4:34
For pitchers, they're more likely to just be put on the DL while they ramp up. So I'm not docking their production, only their play time
Big Tuna
4:34
Where do you slot Andrew Miller along the RP rankings in a Saves league?
Brad Johnson
4:34
I turn to him somewhere shortly after Familia. He's usually long gone by then.

4:35
Am I crazy for thinking that Lincecum could be closing games for Texas very early in the season?
Brad Johnson
4:35
Nope, it's within the realm of possibility. He's only just arrived in camp so you'll have to be patient. Claudio is still the odds on favorite, although he's perhaps better as a multi-inning guy.
4:36
For reference, I took Lincecum around pick 870 in a dynasty draft. I took Diekman a couple rounds earlier.
I fully expect to cut them both, but that projects as 15% of a closer right now.
Joe
4:36
Nick Williams or Aaron Altherr?
Brad Johnson
4:36
Williams is likely to get a much longer look
4:37
Altherr is more of a second division starter/first division backup. Phillies don't seem to mind pushing him into that prematurely. They'll never be upset when injuries force them to use him as a regular
4:38
Williams needs an opportunity to a). prove he's part of the future of that club and/or b). build trade value so they can swap him for an ace when they take aim at Bryce Harper.
