Think it's Rangers or retirement for Beltre, and I lean the latter. (Just a guess though)
Hey Joe

Is Scooter Gennett a viable target for the Yankees? He would be an upgrade on Neil Walker and fill in at 2B while Didi rehabs or is Daniel Murphy a more realistic one?
Steve Adams
3:57
Think a Gennett extension is likelier than a trade for the Reds at this point.

What kind of deal do you expect Jed Lowrie to get?
Steve Adams
3:58
Something in the 2/22 range, though I'm a bit lighter on him than Tim or Jeff was when we were looking at the Top 50. I think he'll stay in Oakland.

Corbin a possibility for Seattle?  They NEED to get an arm this winter, right?
Steve Adams
4:00
They don't have that kind of payroll space, and Dipoto in general doesn't like the play for the kind of free agents who command $100MM+ deals. The additions of Pujols and Hamilton under his watch in Anaheim seem to have been largely fueled by Arte Moreno.

I'd agree with that "postseason is BS" when it comes to value, but I also think Eovaldi gets $100M now, and he definitely was not going to get that before.
Steve Adams
4:01
I don't think Eovaldi will come anywhere near $100MM

Could the tigers sign d j lemeihu
Steve Adams
4:02
I think DJLM makes some sense for Detroit, and I don't expect the market for him to be especially robust given the sheer volume of 2B options. I like the fit quite a bit actually.

Will someone give AJ Pollock something like 4/60 or 5/70-80 or do you think he comes back to AZ on QO if they give it to him? Dbacks need a CF unless they really think Marte can slide out there and then utilize Lamb/Ahmed/Escobar in the IF.
Steve Adams
4:02
I've got Pollock at 4/64
And think he should reject a QO. Which the D-backs should offer.

Can the Astros sign Morton for a couple more years? Do they try and extend Cole?
Steve Adams
4:03
I do think they'll keep Morton for another couple seasons unless he just decides geography is the primary factor, in which case the Phillies would make tons of sense. They can try to extend Cole, but I doubt Scott Boras and Cole are agreeing to an extension a yer from free agency. Strasburg did it in DC, but he had a vastly longer history there.

How much will it cost me to put Britton between Trivino and Treinan
Steve Adams
4:05
More than the A's would be willing to spend, given the desire to retain Lowrie and also add to the rotation. Britton isn't what he used to be, but the velocity, elite grounder rate, name value and upside should still get him a strong three-year deal.

Any chance I could land snell from the rays?
Steve Adams
4:06
There's no earthly reason for the Rays to move Snell coming off a 90-win season when he still has four years of control remaining and is not yet arbitration eligible
MLB
4:07
Who will sign Kikuchi?
Steve Adams
4:08
Padres have my pick -- which I suppose is going out on a limb a bit. But there's no good way of knowing, and that's only a guess. Kikuchi doesn't even know where he's signing yet
Marc Downs
4:08
Cruz going to resign with Mariners?
Steve Adams
4:08
Dipoto's comments about how if they were certain they wanted to commit the DH spot to just one player, it'd already have been done, makes me think they'll let him go elsewhere. I like the Astros and Twins as possible fits.

Are JTR and Degrom a possibility for the ME?
Steve Adams
4:09
Realmuto, sure. As I noted a few minutes ago -- Van Wagenen just said Mets are 100% going for it. So no deGrom trade happening.

Will Rangers Trade Joey Gallo?
Steve Adams
4:10
I don't expect them to

Would it be fair to call Brodie a hypocrite if he does not sign deGrom to an extension or trade him as his first official act as new GM?
Steve Adams
4:12
Nope. Firstly, an extension probably wouldn't happen until Spring Training, so it'd never be his first act.

Secondly, he's now on the other side of the table and negotiating in the best interest of the Mets. We don't even know who deGrom's new agent will be, as there's no guarantee he'll remain with CAA. If he goes to another agent who has no interest in talking extension or demands $250MM+ and BVW says no, that's not him being hypocritical. It's him taking a win-now approach in his new role.

4:12
Most likely scenario for Adam Ottavino? One of the NY teams? Should Rockies risk a QO?
Steve Adams
4:13
I know he's from NY, but he's in his early 30s and has yet to ever have a massive payday. This is probably his one shot at a huge contract, and bidding will be steep following this season. I have to think he just goes to the highest bidder.
Jack
4:13
What kind of deal is Josh Donaldson looking at?
Steve Adams
4:14
I think he'll bet on himself and max out on a one-year deal -- something like $20MM. I do think he could probably get something like $40-50MM over three years if he wanted to go that route, but he's already made nearly 60 in his career. 1/20 would push him to 80 and could massively boost his earning power for next winter. Good candidate to bet on himself.

If the Nats resign Harper could Robles be had? Maybe if the Jays make Stroman available?
Steve Adams
4:15
I don't think they move Robles regardless. Eaton would be likelier to be on the block. And no chance Stroman gets Robles
Theo
4:16
Who am I most likely to land Miller, Kimbrel, or Ottavino?
Steve Adams
4:17
Epstein hasn't spent at top-of-the-market dollars (i.e. Kimbrel) for relievers. I think Miller or Ottavino would be more likely. Would add Britton to the mix of plausible targets as well. I do think they'll add a high-profile reliever.
