Do you think anything will happen with the talk yesterday of Indians front office and Lindor agent talking. Would Frankie take a 5 year deal from the Indians or is it all (10 years ) or nothing.
Steve Adams
4:18
I see zero chance that the Indians pay the type of money it would take to extend Lindor -- which at this point might well be $300MM+. He's not taking five years.

With a good spring, any chance that Joey Bart makes the team?
Steve Adams
4:18
Nah he won't open the year with the Giants.
Phil Fan
4:19
Am I wrong to not want Kris Bryant as a Phils fan when I know Bohm will be part of the cost as well as Howard? Phillies can't afford to have another huge contract and little talent on the horizon.
Steve Adams

Firstly, I'm sure there are permutations of a deal that could be worked out without including Bohm and/or Howard. Secondly -- I'd take two years of Bryant over most high-end prospects. The immediate wins have huge value, and prospect attrition is way more prevalent than many fans seem to acknowledge.

Alec Bohm is Baseball America's #28 prospect right now. Six years ago, Maikel Franco was their #17.

Prospect rankings are good barometers and have plenty of value, but they're more in a state constant flux than a lot of people realize and they're far, far from infallible.

Will Scooter Gennett get a deal with any team?
Steve Adams
4:22
Probably a minors deal somewhere

Will this year come close to last years home run totals?
Steve Adams
4:24
No way of knowing until we see what the 2020 ball looks like, but I imagine the home runs will magically drop and the league will express bewilderment and again emphasize that they've never knowingly altered the composition of the ball.

Do you listen to sports talk radio?
Steve Adams
4:26
I listen to some clips of MLB Network Radio here and there and used to listen to more in the Twin Cities, where I live, but while there are plenty of nuanced, well-reasoned opinions, they're drowned out by obnoxious hot take personalities that I find intolerable.

Any chance the reds get another ss before opening day?
Steve Adams
4:26
I think Galvis will be the opening day guy
Jesse
4:27
Which Edwin Diaz do we see in 2020? 2018 World Beater, 2019 Dumpster Fire or something in between?
Steve Adams
4:27
Something in between

Did the Astros get punished enough? The players are getting off pretty easy, it's kind of unsettling.
Steve Adams
4:30
The players aren't getting off "pretty easy." They're literally not being punished at all. "Pretty easy" would indicate that they at least had SOME penalty.

No, I don't think the league handled it well. I find it more egregious that Jim Crane is being absolved completely, though. That guy is an utter embarrassment who shouldn't be allowed to own a big league team anymore.

Can Ken Giles hold onto the closer role for 2020
Steve Adams
4:30
As long as he's healthy yeah
Skeletor
4:31
Did the Braves get a harsher punishment than  Astros?
Steve Adams
4:32
They did, although every report on that situation that I've read suggests that Coppolella lied to MLB right up until the end, whereas the Astros were apparently more cooperative
AJ Preller
4:32
Will I be able to pry Senzel from Cinci in a three-team deal with Boston?
Steve Adams
4:33
Doubt it. Dick Williams has repeatedly said he expects to keep Senzel.
Reds

Why is everyone so hard on freddy galvis the dude plays his heart out and he doesnt exactly suck He deserves a fair shot
Steve Adams
4:34
He's a very good defender with poor OBP skills. You could do a lot worse. Most fans seem to value gaudier offensive numbers over high-end glovework though.
Aaron Judge
4:35
Did Altuve steal an MVP from me?
Steve Adams
4:35
Sure as hell seems that way.
GG
4:35
Harvey a good fit for Boston? Non guarantee deal, if he shows in spring, maybe he bounces back under the bigger lights of Boston?
Steve Adams
4:35
There's no harm in it, but I wouldn't get my hopes up wherever he signs.

4:36
Who would you rather have lunch with, Aubrey Huff or José Canseco?
Steve Adams
4:36
Holy cow I'd rather have lunch with Jose Canseco than like anyone on the planet.
4:37
Canseco forever.
Skates Maghee LaRue
4:37
If Mikolas is out for any extended length, other than ST, do the Cards stay in house or go on active search outside?
Steve Adams
4:38
Again, there's just not that much out there right now; maybe they go sign Jason Vargas or Andrew Cashner or Clay Buchholz or something, but the remaining SP options on the market are pretty unexciting.
