Which player has the highest trade value in MLB? Lowest?
Steve Adams
3:53
Probably someone like Acuna or Soto -- insanely cheap, already elite, controlled another six seasons. Least ... Miguel Cabrera? He's still owed $162MM over five years, which is insane.
COVA
3:54
Let me answer that for you... Walker Buehler has the highest trade value.
Steve Adams
3:55
Buehler would be up there, but he's already had Tommy John once, and teams are generally more wary of pitchers given their penchant for injuries.

3:55
how much is albert pujols still owed?
Steve Adams
3:56
$87MM over three years -- not close to Cabrera.

With Martinez seemingly out of the rotation, do you think Reyes steps in?
Steve Adams
3:56
I don't see why you could reasonably count on Alex Reyes any more than Carlos Martinez.
3:57
Reyes has thrown 27 innings total, both Majors and minors, the past two seasons.
He's never reached 120 innings in any professional season. I'm shocked that projection systems even have him clearing 100 IP

Fantasy related, do you think Arenado's production will fall now that it's not a contract year and he's gonna get PAID no matter what
Steve Adams
3:58
I never really buy into the "now he got paid so he won't try" trope.

Should m's fans be worried about a haniger trade?
Steve Adams
3:59
If it were gonna happen I think it would have by now. They've been advertising around him and building him as the next face of the franchise... pretty hard to ship him out at this point.
I mean, I'll never say never to the Mariners trading anyone (because Dipoto), but I don't see it happening

Who will be the next 40 year old All-Star?
Steve Adams
4:00
Ohhhh that's hard. Nellie Cruz maybe? Guy still rakes and he's not far from 40
Of course, ideally, it'd be a resurgent Bartolo in 2019.

4:01
Chris Davis has the worst contract in the MLB
Steve Adams
4:02
It's awful, sure, but it's, ahem, "only" $92MM over the next four years, with some pretty heavy deferrals.

Reasons to be cautious about Soto's sophomore season?
Steve Adams
4:03
I'm all in on Soto and while I don't begrudge voters for naming Acuna ROY (they were both deserving), I'm shocked it was as lopsided as it was.
Wise Guy

Over/Under 2.5 benches clearing brawls for the following season.
Steve Adams
4:03
Got to take the over there.
Random Question
4:05
When free agents sign minor league contracts, do we know how much the minor league portion pays them?
Steve Adams
4:07
There's no standard number -- it varies from deal to deal -- but veteran guys on minor league deals are paid way better than prospects who are working their way up to that level, of course. A guy with years of MLB experience will still very comfortably clear six figures in salary
Phil Plantier
4:08
Who had the worst batting stance you ever saw?
Steve Adams
4:08
Can I vote for my own?
Adam Jones
4:09
Who will I sign with?
Steve Adams
4:09
Total guess: Indians on the cheap
Danimal
4:09
Do you think 5/140 giving a bump this year and extending the rest over the next four years gets it done for Goldy?
Steve Adams
4:09
As I've said over the past few weeks, I think he'd want a $30MM+ annual salary.

Is it crazy to think the Mariners might make a sneaky run at the wild card this season?
Steve Adams
4:12
I generally don't think it's insane. I mean, it's less crazy to me than if you'd told me the A's would push 100 wins with a rotation including Edwin Jackson, Brett Anderson and Trevor Cahill.

For all the talk of Seattle's teardown, they got a ton of useful MLB assets back and signed a really intriguing talent in Kikuchi. Beyond him,you have Mallex, Domingo Santana, Omar Narvaez, Jay Bruce, Hunter Stickland, Anthony Swarzak (if he's healthy at some point), as guys who have very recently been solid at the MLB level within the past year or two.
4:13
I don't think they will, but I think the Mariners are better than a lot of people expect them to be. (I didn't even include Justus Sheffield or Erik Swanson there!)

That was basically my attitude toward the A's last year. Surprises happen, and the Mariners are a decent team to bet on as an overachiever.

You have $35 mil/year to spend as Padres GM. Harper or Keuchel and Goo?
Steve Adams
4:14
Trying to ignore the Goo typo when we know it was "Gio." Having a hard time. Ha.
SORRY
Give me the 26-year-old 30-40 homer bat with a career .390 OBP

Everyone is talking about my crazy run to end 2018. Do you see a substantial regression this season, or am I a legit 25HR 50+SB threat?
