There are tons of these coming in -- but DEER MEAT.

Ummm what about Cespedes Wild Boar injury.
Steve Adams
2:53
This is a strong contender though
John
2:54
Will Cespedes get a contract?
Steve Adams
2:55
I can see an AL club rolling the dice. White Sox could stick him at DH if they want to give Vaughn some actual minor league time.

How about Homer Bailer to the Astros - local guy, likely has something left? Also, forgetting Ed Whitson on the stationary bike?
Steve Adams
2:56
Odorizzi put the 'Stros right up against the luxury tax. I don't think they'll add another SP unless, again as I said before, they trade someone first. Would have to be a reliever (Brooks Raley? Joe Smith?) or bench piece (Aledmys Diaz?) ... I still don't envision it happening.

Am I the rookie of the year this year?  Who could be better?
Steve Adams
2:59
Sorry answered a phone call quick
I doubt Rutschman gets the big league time this year to be seriously considered. Even if he's ready for a promotion, the Orioles clearly aren't trying to win in 2021, so they could just delay his debut until late April 2022.
Cubs

Who's still there next year?
Steve Adams
3:00
Pure guesswork here, but Rizzo+Baez stay, Bryant goes elsewhere.

Likelihood of Soto and/or Turner signing extensions before the season starts?
Steve Adams
3:01
It'd be shocking to see them get both done. I think Turner is likelier than Soto even though he's closer to free agency.
Mclovin
3:02
150/6 enough to sign Story next offseason?
Steve Adams
3:02
It'll depend on the kind of year he has. I think there's a case for him to top that, but his play and health in 2021 will obviously impact his asking price.
Bryant overrated?
3:02
Outside of my mvp year am I overrated ?
Steve Adams
3:04
I think he's more underrated than anything. It seems like once someone wins an MVP so early in their careers, they're penalized by fans for returning to being "merely" a great hitter and/or All-Star. Bryant had a 137 wRC+ from 2017-19. He went from being "best hitter in the league?" to "one of the 25 best hitters in the league" and people seemed to sour on him for it.
3:05
Obviously last year was brutal, but we're talking 147 plate appearances
Jerry Dipoto
3:05
Do I now basically have to either put Kelenic on the roster to start 2021 or keep him down until midseason?
Steve Adams
3:06
I don't think that's the case -- especially not with the recent injury.
Pumpsie Green

Does Altuve have positive, negative or neutral trade value?
Steve Adams
3:08
He's owed $104MM combined for his age-31 through age-34 seasons. I think most clubs, especially in this economic climate, would consider the contract somewhat underwater even if they believe he'll rebound from last year's down showing.
Dudds
3:08
bieber as good as last year?
Steve Adams
3:09
I mean he opened 2021 with "Anyone," which is pretty damn gre-- oh, Shane.

I think expecting him to maintain a 41% strikeout rate and a 1.63 ERA is setting yourself up for disappointment.
He'll still be one of the league's better pitchers, but that was like a 99th-percentile season for him where all the stars aligned.

Do the Giants tread water one more year and spend big in 2022?
Steve Adams
3:11
That seems to be the path they're taking with all the modest one-year deals, yeah.

Who wins the 5th spot in our rotation assuming mike soroka is not ready for the start of the season?
Steve Adams
3:12
I would expect they'd go to Kyle Wright again, but they'll be cycling through all kinds of back-of-the-rotation moves all year. Can't expect 150+ innings out of both Morton and Smyly, so there will be phantom IL stints, guys getting starts skipped, etc.

Upton a bounce back candidate?  Had a strong final month last year and looking good in spring
Steve Adams
3:13
Good batted-ball profile in 2020 on the whole as well. I can see it.

Any Pirates relievers worthy of a trade for decent prospects?
Steve Adams
3:13
Richard Rodriguez is good!

In or out when is the deadline for deciding?
Steve Adams
3:14
Again -- there is no deadline.
There is no discussion, really.

Am I a lock to be everyday 1B for the Rox?
Steve Adams
3:15
I expect he'll be their first baseman, yes.
