Haven't really polled the team for a list of predictions, but I don't think it has to be one of those three. Phillies and Reds are two other logical suitors that come to mind.
3:02
Sorry about that -- phone rang

How is Wilmer Flores playing so well over the last 24 months?  Will he be a hot free agent at 2B this offseason?
Steve Adams
3:02
He's signed through 2021 with a 2022 option so he will not be, no.
White Sox MVP?
3:03
Abreu or TA,
Steve Adams
3:06
I'll almost always take the SS over the 1B, and if we're looking at results as to what is sustainable, Anderson for sure gets it. Abreu's production is more legitimate, but the MVP to me is about what did happen, not what "should" have happened or what "would" happen again if you played it out a second time.

I don't think there is such a thing as a true-talent, .400 BABIP guy, so I don't think Anderson can keep this up. But what's done is done, and there's value in that.

That was a very long, convoluted means of answering a question I could have done with one word. You're welcome?

Do you think Seattle can beat out the Astros for 2nd place?
Steve Adams
3:08
See my previous answer about the Marlins and weirdness being fun!

Really, though, I think it'll be tough. The Astros' remaining schedule is as follows:

3 vs Texas
3 vs Arizona
3 in Seattle
4 in Texas
3:09
Mariners:

2 vs Giants
3 vs Padres
3 vs Astros
4 in Oakland
3:10
Add in that Seattle is already down 1.5 games to Houston, and it is very tough to envision. I'm all for weirdness in 2020, so if they can somehow do it, that's awesome, but I think the Astros are much likelier to hold the spot down.

Lightning or Stars? Bonus: who would you LIKE to see win, too?
Steve Adams
3:10
I'm from Minnesota and spent the past two years living like a block from the Wild's Xcel Energy Center. I know virtually nothing about the NHL.
I am a bad Minnesotan.
3:11
I also don't really fish much and don't hunt at all. It's a wonder they let me stay here.
Degrom
3:11
It kills me seeing him put up these numbers, and not get rewarded with a win. Where do you see him landing if he is ever dealt?
Steve Adams
3:11
I cannot fathom him being traded at any point in the near future.
Captain Dunsel
3:12
Is Matt Klentak on the hottest GM seat after the Phillies' bullpen failure and the lack of success from his trades to fix it?
Steve Adams
3:14
I generally don't think it's fair to ding a GM for signing players who immediately get hurt. The bullpen would look a lot better with David Robertson -- who was the most durable, consistently healthy reliever in baseball when he signed in Philadelphia.

And as for what he could've done differently ... it's again hard to put the blame solely on him when John Middleton went from "WE'RE SPENDIN' STUPID MONEY" to "...But don't cross the luxury tax" in one year's time.
3:15
I'd imagine there were upgrades Klentak & Co. would've much rather made but were unable to get ownership approval

3:16
Is Graterol the future closer for the Dodgers?
Steve Adams
3:18
I'd rather see him pitching two innings at a time and coming into high-leverage spots, but traditional closer is certainly well within the range of plausible outcomes -- perhaps the likeliest.

All depends on if the arm holds up, of course, which isn't a given with any pitcher and particularly not with him given his early injury history. But the talent there is pretty special.

Pretty disappointed Steve, one thing to live in MN and not be a hockey guy, but to be in the land of 10,000 lakes and not wet a line, your missing out!
Steve Adams
3:20
Hey I said I don't fish MUCH -- not that I don't fish at all, ha. I tried some fly fishing a little bit earlier this summer for the first time which was a fun twist I'd never tried before.

Tim Anderson has done this 2 seasons in a row...and is hitting 500 vs. lefties. His wrist speed is elite. He is the MVP and honestly .320+ seasons are his normal. book it.
Steve Adams
3:21
You had me at Eloy Jenkins
3:22
But ... you basically just agreed with what I said, which was that he isn't a .400 BABIP guy because those don't exist. If you think he's a .320 hitter, that inherently means his BABIP is going to come down below the .400 mark it's sitting at since early 2019. So ... we agree? High five?

Tim Anderson's very good. He's just not "hit .350 every year" good.
Is That Muto Real?
3:26
Would the Nationals be interested in Realmuto?  How about the Yankees?
Steve Adams
3:26
I think both would be, yeah. I mean -- really, any contender will be. He's an upgrade over every team's catcher and the type of guy you'd trade an incumbent to make room for
Cosetta
3:26
I put the over-under on # of times Steve ate at Cosetta per week at 2.5.
Steve Adams
3:26
Nah like once a week -- it was walking distance though and quick lunch so, yeah, I was there a lot haha.
SteveM
3:27
Homer Baily...is he out for the year?
Steve Adams
3:27
Seems that way
Lone Star State
3:27
Will Lynn get traded this offseason and what could he bring back with just a year left on the contract?
Steve Adams
3:28
I expect he'll be traded, yeah. It's only one year, but it's one year well below the market rate for a pitcher of the caliber he's become. I think the return will still be strong.

3:29
Knowing they traded for Austin Nola and retain their Ace in the hole Campusano, percentage chance that the Padres sign JT?
Steve Adams
3:30
I think between Nola/Campusano and the fact that they have Machado, Hosmer, Myers all signed long-term -- plus ideally getting something done with Tatis -- the Padres are one of the few contenders who are a tough fit for Realmuto
3:31
Aaron Boone just told reporters Paxton had a setback and is not throwing.
Ouch. Literally for him, and figuratively for the Yankees
Freddie Freeman's Pants

Why oh why didn't the Braves do better than Tommy Milone before the trade deadline and who might they target this OS?
