Washington would need to win the B1G tournament as of today with such a poor RPI along with just a 1-9 record vs. Q1.

Louisville should have probably won 2/3 games at Clemson this weekend . They hung tough losing two1 run games while missing 2 starting pitchers from weekend rotation, along with missing top catcher Klein and key backup catcher Tyson . How do you like their chances of possibly putting themselves in position to host a regional with their remaining ACC schedule , especially if they can get some of these key pieces back very soon ?

I really do like this Louisville roster, and I think if they're healthy at the right time, they have Omaha upside. Certainly impressed with how competitive that series at Clemson was, on the road against an elite opponent, given the Louisville injuries. Feels like Louisville needs to win three of its last four series (vs. FSU, at ND, at GT, vs. Wake) to host -- 18 league wins is probably the target, and that means an 8-4 finish, although 7-5 would at least give them a shot. Not loving their chances, but there's certainly a realistic chance.

All right, KR will take you home. See you guys next week!

Is it auto bid or bust for Virginia?
Kendall Rogers
1:18
I do think there's still a pathway for Virginia, albeit a small pathway. RPI is sitting at 95 and it still has series left against RPI 27 (on the road), 36 (at home) and 32 (on the road). Win two of those three series and Virginia probably has an RPI in the 45-55 range, which is within range if the Cavaliers can at least do something in the ACC tourney. Not playing any games over the weekend really hurt them for the time being.

Who do you like in the Lone Star Showdown this weekend? A&M is coming in hot, but other teams (Georgia, Auburn) have come into Austin on a hot streak and hit a wall.
Kendall Rogers
1:21
Great question. I do think A&M is playing like an elite team, and I also am certain Jared Spencer will not pitch this weekend against the Aggies. However, I think I still lean the Horns at home. I love their overall vibe and they just seem to keep having guys step up when someone goes down. Maybe Spencer being out will be different? For now, I'm still all in on those guys. I'll say Texas 2/3.
Eric Simmons

After that series win over Arkansas is Texas A&M in the hosting discussion if they keep winning?
Kendall Rogers
1:34
If they win the LSU and Texas series, you can start having that discussion. But until then ....

If an over/under was set today at 1.5 for SEC coaching changes what side would you take?
Kendall Rogers
1:37
I'll go with 2 as of today.

Around the time of the last House hearing, you tweeted that coaches favored a hard reset on roster size.  What's their thinking on that?
Kendall Rogers
1:43
John -- I think a lot of coaches and administrators prefer a clean break from the current setup where you have increasingly old rosters, etc. By just doing a hard reset, you don't have a gradual/more complicated roster setup the next couple of years.

I think 4 Big Ten teams make the NCAA Tournament what do you think?.
Kendall Rogers
1:44
Four is a pretty good # for the Big Ten right now.

Does ASU get in if they don't win the B12 tournament?
Kendall Rogers
1:46
Arizona State would be in as of today, and I'm pretty confident about its resume as of today with series wins over Kansas and TCU (on the road). Obivously, if you're the Devils, you don't want to trip up against BYU and Houston at home, but they are in a pretty solid spot as of today. As we suspected, losing that one game to Texas Tech hurt them over the weekend. Tech is quite the RPI anchor.
Daniel
1:51
What does Georgia Tech have to do get back into the hosting picture?
Kendall Rogers
1:51
Daniel -- Georgia Tech is still within striking distance. The league record is still fantastic, but the RPI will need to improve down the stretch. It's 27 with series remaining against Virginia, Western Carolina, Louisville and Duke. If GT is in the Top 20-22 with a fantastic league record, I think it hosts as a Top 16.

Aiva Arquette is playing himself into that 1/1 possibility, just like 2 fellow Beavers before him. Crazy to think but he seems more capable of carrying this team to an Omaha run than Bazzana. Can a big run to the CWS put him at the top of the draft?
Kendall Rogers
1:54
Never say never. I was a massive fan of Arquette earlier this season when I saw him at the Round Rock tournament. He's got a long frame with serious power, he showed an excellent offensive approach and seemed to be the spark plug for that entire offensive lineup. He checked a ton of boxes for me. I'm all in on that guy.

How and when will we know the number of scholarships each program is deciding to fund next season?
Kendall Rogers
1:55
Hardball -- Once the house settlement is approved by Judge Wilken (hopefully in the next week?), we will have a lot more clarity. I think once that happens you'll start to see those dominoes fall. I'm fascinated to see what each league allows. I do think there's a groundswell of momentum toward the major leagues allowing their individual schools to do whatever the heck they want, which is good.

Staying in Arizona, it looks as if Summerhill will return this weekend.  Have you been impressed with how they have played without him?  Will his return be in time for him to get back into the groove before postseason play?
Kendall Rogers
1:58
Definitely have been impressed. Outside of snafu against Baylor at home, the Wildcats have been pretty consistent overall. I watched a couple of the Arizona State games and saw the Wildcats in person earlier this season. That offensive lineup in particular has some serious length, and even more so now with Summerhill back in the mix. Getting Easton Breyfogle back a couple of weeks ago was another big boost.

Losing to a bad UCF hurts but do you still like TCU chance to host with their remaining schedule.
Kendall Rogers
2:00
I think if the Frogs take the Baylor, Cincinnati and Utah series, and at least win one in Tucson, that would be a very compelling hosting resume because the Frogs would have a very strong RPI. With that said, I don't think the Big 12 is getting three hosts, and right now I would have Arizona ahead of the Frogs, along with potentially even West Virginia. I go back and forth on that one.

What'll it take for OU to host?  (2 out of 4?, 2-4 + Hoover wins, 3 out of 4?)
Kendall Rogers
2:02
If the Sooners win 17 or more leagues games and have an RPI in the Top 20, they would be in a pretty good spot I think.

I am so thrilled to see WVU make a Big jump to #17 in the New Poll, and since that is only one spot outside of the Top 16, I am curious what you think WVU needs to do in order to host a regional? I know they Lost the series to Arizona, but one Loss went 16 Innings, and I Hope that series is Not what keeps WVU from hosting if it comes down to just them and Arizona for a Big 12 hosting candidate.
Kendall Rogers
2:05
I think WVU is in a good spot as of today, but as always, it will need to take care of business down the stretch. The one thing that will hurt WVU with the committee is the fact it has such a poor non-conference SOS, but you know what negates that? Kicking ass in the Big 12, which WVU has done thus far outside of the Arizona series. Just keep winning and everything else will take care of itself.

If the U collapses, and doesn’t make the tournament this year, do you see Miami moving on from JD after two years?
Kendall Rogers
2:05
I've been told Miami is not making a move, no matter what happens the rest of the year. That's what I'm being told as of today.

Are the Vols in trouble in terms of hosting...what do they have to do the rest of the season to make darn sure they host.
Kendall Rogers
2:07
I think the Vols are still in solid shape as of today, but I do have some concerns about them right now. It felt like the bullpen was vulnerable over the weekend, while Tegan Kuhns struggled in his start. That's now three-straight starts where Kuhns couldn't get out of the third inning. That's problematic for me. I'm still buying stock in this time, but they've definitely taken a step back as of late.

The state of baseball at UH is painful to watch and the stunt they tried to pull yesterday was embarrassing. Not asking you to bag on a coach, but what needs to happen for that program to get back to competing for regionals? It feels like a much better job than what the results have shown lately.
Kendall Rogers
2:09
I think Houston is a really, really good job, especially if you can get some influential donors involved in the NIL space. There's just so much natural homegrown talent in Houston -- talent levels at a program like that should be in a very, very good spot. In addition, I do think that facility as a whole needs some upgrades. The player facilities at UH are fantastic, but the facility itself could use an upgrade. I don't feel like it's fan friendly. I think UH is a sleeping giant.

If Louisville manages to take care of business and win its last 4 acc series, can they get a regional host?
Kendall Rogers
2:10
If Louisville wins series against FSU, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech and Wake Forest, it will most definitely be one of the Top 16 hosts. That would mean the Cards have an awesome ACC record to go with a fantastic RPI. They'd be in awesome shape.
