I don't think he's really much of a prospect now or anything, he's too old and his PCL performance isn't *that* amazing, but I rather see what a guy like that can do then some 33-year-old mediocre retread.

From a sabermetrics perspective, is the hit-and-run play a good play or does it put artificial pressure on the hitter to make contact (and possibly reduce the quality of batted ball contact), which negates any benefit of distorting the defense moving to cover the SB attempt?

How many PA does it take for BB% to stabilize? Is 200 PA enough to trust a young player who has doubled his historical BB%?

It depends on how long the resume is and the magnitude of the change.
You can't look at it in a linear fashion like this.
Though 200 PA, for most large changes, is enough to be significant.
