wouldn't the counter point to Jansen be that him not being 4-6 out guy mean he won't be as overexposed as he was last year?  He faced 35 batters in 6 games.  Which may wind up being a really good thing for the Dodgers....  6 innings this year maybe being more effective than his 8.2 last year.

the problem is that the Dodgers may not have guys as reliable in front of Jansen as 2017 model Brandon Morrow and Kenta Maeda. The latter hasn't been nearly so dominant in that role this year. Bottom line is that they need the starters to go deeper to avoid exposing the bullpen, and as we know, there's risk there too,

honestly, i don't have a problem just seeing your standard triple slash on broadcasts.  those 3 numbers at least give me decent idea of what the hitter is and I can mentally adjust if it's a rockie (?) or padre or something

I much prefer the avg/obp/slg line to OPS. wRC+ or OPS+ is a great shorthand in conversation when you don't want to be bogged down by citing three slash lines or w/e

He has to stay healthy, but I think he may have turned the corner this year. When I was on MLB Now a week ago, I noted that no pitcher had boosted his JAWS more this year than Max did (7.4 points ).

and again, the only guys who have gotten away with that in the past 40+ years are Koufax and Pedro, and with all due respoect Kluber's best so far isn't as good (8 WAR seasons, not 10 WAR seasons). So he's gonna need bulk.

Barring unforseen trade(s) I'm sure he'll be in the picture. Bellinger's ability to play in the outfield is a big part of the Dodgers' flexibility and the reason they've been able to find Muncy playing time once Turner return(er)ed

What are the odds we see all of those guys make the HOF? Altuve and Lindor are already off to phenomenal starts, and Bregman and Ramirez look well positioned to put up a run of monster years. And Correa might be the single biggest talent out of all of them

All of 'em? Steep. With the exception of Verlander I don't think any of them are at 50% yet, because they aren't close to the minimum of 10 years, and with infielders, a lot can go wrong, injury-wise. Taking each besides JV at exactly 50%, among 5 guys, that's a 1 in 32 chance
