Michael Brantley is bumming me out
Eno Sarris
12:31
As much as people said his injury wasn't a big deal, it was still an injury!
Erik
12:31
People are saying the Phillies pitchers will definitely be shut down at some point. When would that be? Won't they want to get as close to a full season of work in as possible, so that they're ready to go l the way next year in case they're in a playoff race?
Eno Sarris
12:32
Nola has enough innings to go all year. And yes to your second point. VV had 90 or so innings last year, if you stop at 100, how many can he pitch next year? I think they want to push him to 130-150 at least, so that he could be a DL stint away from 200 next year.
I'm not your buddy, Guyer
12:32
What to do with Yasiel Puig? Nothing looks right and now he's hurt. Are you dropping in 12 teamers?
Eno Sarris
12:32
Not yet.

my wife decided that our two-month old would sleep better in bed with us than in his bassinet. he slept better with us. should I be afraid, or very afraid?
Eno Sarris
12:33
Very afraid. You gotta get that baby out of the bed. We let the second one sleep in our bed longer and he just started sleeping through the night at 19 months. But tread carefully, sleep deprived arguments about babies are the worst.
Also: congratulations!

Hi Eno. What is your opinion on Jon Gray? The heater is unreal and looks like he has been successful at developing his secondary pitches during last year.
Eno Sarris
12:34
I like him. The home away splits are weird though. Where can you use him.

your boy desclafani is almost back! what's the plan for those of us who have him stashed—insta-activate or wait a couple starts to see where he is? and do you think he'll eventually make jake odorizzi expendable?
Eno Sarris
12:34
Wait. I want to see his early velocity readings.
Good God I haven't made it to noon yet.

12:34
Do you think Javier Baez will be able to increase his 3% walk rate? Do u think he is bound to get traded becuase of how different he is compared to other cubs
Eno Sarris
12:35
I thought his manager was trusting him at some point but then Soler moved ahead. It is weird. I do think he'll bring them back a pitcher now.

Was surprised in your last chat that you studied Art History in school. Any particular era/concentration?
Eno Sarris
12:35
AbEx/Modernism.

12:36
What are your thoughts on Stroman? How much does the low k rate limit his ceiling?
Eno Sarris
12:36
The GB rate also brings his floor up really high. An ideal two, I wouldn't want to pay number one prices for until we see more whiffs (which is still possible).

When you interview hitters do they ever get annoyed when you ask them about pitchers?
Eno Sarris
12:37
I had a funny exchange Tuesday. Sean Doolittle said "I hate how the hitters can talk to the umpire at the plate and I can't." Talked to Dozier about it, and he said "Don't let Sean say that! Come on! Pitchers have their ways." I'll probably flush it out into something, but it was funny.

Zack Greinke and Patrick Corbin both have extreme home/away splits. Greinke has a 6.54 ERA and .303/.346/.561 against at home with a 1.93 ERA and .226/.257/.314 against away. Corbin has a 7.94 ERA and .342/.389/.641 against at home with a 2.68 ERA and .225/.296/.333 against away. Anything to be drawn from this or is it just noise? Corbin a must-start away but must-sit at home?
Eno Sarris
12:38
What if it's slider command at home... that was something Bassitt pointed out to me in my piece about cold weather pitching..

Singlecut from NYC might be the best brewer no one seems to talk about. Grimm and Other Half seem to get all the love, but Singlecut right there with them in my opinion.
Eno Sarris
12:38
Dammit. I have a BG piece going up next week and it's about picking two places to drink in NYC and I talk about just these three breweries... but Singlecut is up at the top of Queens and I'll be down in the bottom of Manhattan, right by Threes and Other Half. I think I'll take the two-for-one and be sad.
12:41
I'm going back to New York and it's been so long I feel like I'm
Earl
12:41
Should I hold on to Alex Wood for 4 weeks or pick up Hyun Soo Kim? I don't NEED either of them, but who has more upside in a dynasty league? Playing for this year...
Eno Sarris
12:42
Wood is injured and what happens when that elbow gets bad news? I take Kim for two weeks, get more info, maybe make switch back, maybe not.
Andy

If youre the Rockies, how do you bridge to the next contending team? Trade Cargo at the deadline with 1yr of control? trade Blackmon with 2 years left? Sign Arenado for whatever he wants and pray to the gods of Humidors?
Eno Sarris
12:42
I made it to noon!!! Trade CarGo.

Injuries piling up on the Giants exposing the lack of depth. Any idea what they do besides sitting on their hands?
Eno Sarris
12:43
Call up Mac Williamson, start Blanco every day and platoon Parker and Williamson, hit trade market for reliever.
Earl
12:43
Rich Hill? Are the injuries are about to mount?
Eno Sarris
12:43
has only managed more than 99 innings once in his long career.

12:43
Giants calling up Christian Arroyo to play 3b and moving Duffy to super utility a possibility?
Eno Sarris
12:44
I love Arroyo. Can Duffy play the OF?
Earl
12:44
Max Scherzer still HR-itis... Will it ever end ENO!?
Eno Sarris
12:44
Soon. I"m not worried.
Alan

Seems like your 8th ranking for Arrieta is low. What am I missing?
