Could be. Spin's the thing! One thing: Desclafani has a low-spin fastball and a low-spin curve and that might actually work together.

Wait are you leaving Fangraphs?!
Eno Sarris
1:15
Nope. Writing daily, chatting, podcasting once a week. No more RotoGraphs editing or writing.

Now that the Bosox have added Sale do you think it'll affect E-Rod's numbers. I'm thinking he should be able to settle in to a stressfree #5 spot in the rotation and should get some favorable matchups throughout the year. Can he finally bust through this year?
Eno Sarris

maybe the rest keeps his knee healthy? I like him enough.

could i develop a knuckleball and have a shot at the bigs? i'm 35 and a lefty. also i fart alot. ALOT.
Eno Sarris
1:16
Still have to be able to throw the knuckler 80+.

So what you're saying is I should watch for an event near me in Eastern Ontario, Canada? Got it. Thanks Eno!
Eno Sarris
1:16
Um yeah totally lemme check the calendar ...
Art Vandelay

Hernandez is easily the most frustrating baserunner in baseball. Seems like he got picked off or thrown out probably a third of the time he was on base.
Eno Sarris
1:17
Yeah speaks to that IQ thing.
Dave Kingman

Better keeper value for next season - Trumbo for $11 or Cory Seager for $22.
Eno Sarris
1:17
Seager.

Why would they serve beer cheese at an "authentic" German restaurant when it's origins are Northern American (supposably)?
Eno Sarris
1:17
Because beer.
Willie Calhoun
1:17
Am I going to rake in the big leagues?
Eno Sarris
1:17
Yeah but might lose a lot of the value to defense.

I'm disappointed in your lack of rhyming Heywards name in same post when you said Eaton was "steady Eddie". Don't ya think Heyward is Variance Clarence?

Enos: Any thoughts about exit velocity and weak contact as for pitchers? Giants signed Melancon in part because of his "weak contact" numbers...are those numbers reliable?
Eno Sarris
1:18
People say that the cutter begets weak contact but I haven't been able to prove it. I have seen something about pitching inside and then pitching on the outside afterwards, and he does do thtat.

Do you think that Bellinger stays at 1B and develops in the minors, or do you think that he switches to OF and comes up mid season?
Eno Sarris
1:19
OF for early career to get his bat up.

With the signings of Beltran and Reddick, does that mean Springer is going to be in CF?
Eno Sarris
1:20
Yup.
Matt

Sometimes when I'm watching Nat Geo and see animals eating other animals whole, I envy them. Think how much better life would be if we just just eat the *whole* chicken wing instead of having to eat around the bone.

My wife keeps throwing up and waking me up in the middle of the night. Is this what having a baby is like? If so, I'm not ready.

I know who Nick Buss is. He's Gus's son and was born on the Gus Bus.
Eno Sarris
1:21
Okay we're doing better people.

Doesn't Bauer already work harder than most other pitchers, or is it that he works hard on nonproductive things or is it just a myth?
Eno Sarris
1:21
I can't believe using data to test assertions and then using the things proven by data is unproductive.

Will a new trend be in the "light" beer craft beer market...less calories, lower ABV, same great taste?
Eno Sarris
1:22
Already happening with session IPAs. (I love Lawson's Super Session, and FW Easy Jack)
Ethan
1:22
I like stouts. Suggestions? I live in Boston if that matters for suggestions.
Eno Sarris
1:22
Trillium's stouts are really good, even if they're known for their IPAs.

I can't help but wonder, in light of the news of your Rotographs departure, that Lucas Duda may finally end up hitting the 50+ HRs I've been waiting for, for what seems like years now.
Eno Sarris
1:23
love you Maxamuz.
