Hans Crouse surprised me last night with his changeup.  If we end up seeing a viable third pitch for the rest of the year and not just one game, how much safer is the profile in your opinion?  Is command still the bigger hurdle?
Eric A Longenhagen
3:36
Still think the delivery and command are prohibitive as far as starting is concerned

From your writeup of Colin Poche - to what extent can an elite swinging strike rate be luck? What could he be doing that you wouldn't be able to identify from scouting, and is there any reason to think it wouldn't happen in the majors if it's happening in AAA?
Eric A Longenhagen
3:39
Wouldn't say 'luck' but could say it's a result of a minor league hitting talent simply not being as good at dealing with whatever specific thing Poche does.
But his performance is so extreme that I have to think he'll be something

Austin Riley is striking out 30% of the time this year. Why does he keep moving up prospect lists?
Eric A Longenhagen
3:41
Dude, Aaron Judge is striking out 30% of the time. Riley does a lot of other stuff. I was skeptical too, but he gets to the pop and he's okay at third.

any notes on hans crouse from last night?
Eric A Longenhagen
3:41
He's actually in the Daily Notes.

Which is schedule for 1600 ET

Have you had a chance to see Adley Rutschman?  The improvement he's shown in his second year of college baseball (and first focusing solely on baseball) has been incredible.
Eric A Longenhagen
3:43
Oregon St Catcher. Yes. Kiley saw him in the fall, I saw him this spring. Swing is more athletic, has feel for all fields contact, there's power on contact. He does a lot, both sides of the ball.
Bernie
3:44
Who would you rather have, age/contract included, Jesus Aguilar or Jose Martinez
Eric A Longenhagen
3:45
Before the season I would have said Martinez, now I don't know.

Dodgers prospect Dean Kremer has a breaking out season and amaging record of 37.2% K%, 13.50 k/9. What's happen to him. A rise of velocity? I wonder his stuff, control....
Eric A Longenhagen
3:45
92-96, 55 curve, four pitches, probable reliever
Rojas
3:45
Uh, where exactly is Morgan Cooper?
Eric A Longenhagen
3:46
Good question, I shall ask.

Where is the best place to get historical MiLB data? Fangraphs only has dating back to 2006
Eric A Longenhagen
3:46
Did anything happen before that date? I'm a young farm creationist. Jugs guns never existed.

Have people been paying attention to the wrong Phillies pitcher?
Eric A Longenhagen
3:48
Are you prospect monogamous?
You should hop in the freak pool and take diligent notes on all of them.
Jonathan
3:48
How close is Luis Patino to forcing his way into your 45 FV tier?
Eric A Longenhagen
3:49
End of year if he keeps tracking like this, easily

Micah Bello is off to a hot start in the AZL. Have you heard any reports or had a chance to see him yet?
Eric A Longenhagen
3:49
Not yet. Brewers AZL stuff is gonna be weird this year.
3:51
That's for all home games. And they're not in the stadium anymore because of construction. So I'll be stopping in there for innings 7-9 a lot on the way home from other games.

Have you heard any reports on Lazarito's defense? I'm a touch concerned that having to play LF to accommodate Beck is going to limit his shot to stick in CF.
Eric A Longenhagen
3:51
MIght be LF just because of the arm anyway
Sammy
3:51
You mentioned you were going to keep an eye on Amed Rosario after the NYM/ARZ series. What did you see?
Eric A Longenhagen
3:52
A guy getting eaten alive on the inner half
who is also a 7 runner and 6 defender at short
with 6 raw power
so...
greg
3:52
Is Hendrik Clementina a prospect?
Eric A Longenhagen
3:52
Yes but I don't think he's a very good one
