Ben Clemens

omg
6:33
now that's a called shot
Welland Jackfish
6:33
trying to come up with a portmanteau with volpe...
Ben Clemens
6:34
Hmm... he just went medievolpe on that pitch?
Davy Andrews
6:34
I'm so far behind all of you.
Nick Perry
6:34
Guest, are you Nostradamus?
Guest
6:34
guys can I get a job with u for that prediction
Nick Perry
6:34
Volpowerswing?
Quarantino Martinez
6:34
He got volped
not guest
6:35
he volped on him
Guest
6:35
also the obvious decision is volpedoed
Davy Andrews
6:35
Leading contender.
Bosoxforlife
6:35
I hate to see that pitch thrown in The Bandbox in the Bronx. Anything away and up is just asking for trouble.
Davy Andrews
6:36
I don't think you can just eliminate a whole quadrant of the zone, especially if you have Crochet's fastball.
Welland Jackfish
6:36
he can volpedo a baseball, but i don't think we can call the surrounding hype volpedo?
Lazy
6:38
105 off the bat at 382ft. Miss me w/ that "bandbox" nonsense.
Pun DMC
6:38
Statcast has that as a HR in 29/30 parks, so NOT a Bandbox HR
Quarantino Martinez
6:38
I had a cortizone shot last year. Wish I’d known it could make me a postseason hero. Gotta call my md...
Ben Clemens
6:39
I will say that Yankees RHH's are well-suited to employ an opposite-field approach, and that there's some issue with throwing it where they're looking for it. But also, like, homers happen
and misses, too
6:40
so long as your approach is good overall, I'm never too worried about leaving the occasional pitch where you don't want it
drplantwrench
6:40
breaking angels news that no one asked for -  hector gomez is reporting albert pujols will be the new angels manager
Ben Clemens
6:40
wait WHAT
6:41
That's wild
Davy Andrews
6:41
I am struggling with how to react to that.
Ben Clemens
6:42
Honestly, I assume that Pujols is a manager that tons of players would love to play for
The man knows a LOT about hitting and longevity
6:43
but I have very little idea of how he'll be able to handle the rest of the job, both because I'm not terribly certain of what the most important skills are and because it seems hard to know without him having any managerial experience
Davy Andrews
6:43
Leones del Escogido would beg to differ.
Ben Clemens
6:44
haha touche. And tbh I think that winter league is probably a good way to break in
Davy Andrews
6:44
I'm mostly with you. Especially on players being psyched to play for him.
Guest
6:44
Pretty sure Pujols is doing the WBC for the DR...? Would he skip Spring Training with his new team? That seems sort of important
Davy Andrews
6:46
Right. I imagine he might have to step down.
Bosoxforlife
6:46
Despite following the game closely I have no idea how he was perceived by his peers while he was playing. He did manage Puerto Rico in the WBC.
Ben Clemens
6:46
Revered to a very high degree
Bencle Mens
6:47
This all means that Pujols is bad for a few years with the Angels before taking over the Cardinals in 2028 after they fire their manager (Yadier Molina) and taking them to the playoffs
Ben Clemens
6:47
I've seen a lot of videos of Trout talking about Pujols, it borders on TOO impressed by him
Welland Jackfish
6:47
is Ben chatting for 2 games or is there another West Coast team for Dodgers-Reds?
Ben Clemens
6:47
Nope, my wife and I are heading to a bar to watch b/c she loves a bar full of people yelling BEAT LA
6:48
to be fair, I also enjoy that
