I think the Jays view him as an oddity. A better Willians.
12:58
Ruiz could wind up the best of the batch, but I think he's years from being a positive fantasy asset in 12-team mixed.

Carlos Rodon: I am in a league where the real life salary is used. Should I keep Carlos Rodon as a FA whose contract could cost 15 percent of my $ for a 25 man roster? Mixed/15 team dynasty. And my SP needs some help.
Brad Johnson
12:58
Ooh tricky.
12:59
This is a situation where I'm probably a little too outside of a perspective to give trustworthy advice.
My impression though is that Rodon could be cheaper in FA than you'd think.

We'll see if he opts more in the 4/5-year direction (great for you) or takes another 1-year shot to line up a big deal.
The latter would be more in the $20+MM range.

Corey Seager vs Francisco Lindor. Same price… pick one!

Lindor

It's just a better situation and you get some SBs to boot

On draft day, I usually only have depth charts printed off to work with. We have it at somebody's house and I don't bring my laptop. Could you share any tips about being prepared. Roto auction/ A.L. keeper league. Thanks
Brad Johnson
1:01
You might also print off some auction values by position.
1:02
FanGraphs has a great auction calculator that can kill 2 bird with 1 stone for you
Not only can you get some values in front of you, it breaks out which categories are values for each player
Using your public projection system of choice
1:03
An important caveat - consider the values illustrative rather than set in stone
Your league decides what players are worth. If they seem to be overpaying, you probably need to overpay for some guys too or else you'll be left with a wad of money at the end.

Ever try to get by with several 2-3rd starter types with no aces in an auction, keeper league?  Currently have flaherty, Castillo, mcclanahan, trevor Rogers. manoah, and framber in a 12 team league.  Can that work if I only add some depth, not an ace, in the draft?
Brad Johnson
1:04
Oh sure, I was on the OG LIMA bandwagon. I've gotten away from it in recent years, but I usually have a league or two where I try it.
Mainly, I try to do whatever isn't conventional thinking for a give season.
If all the touts online are shouting ACES, then you can bet I won't be picking them.
1:05
That's just me, not advice. Though I do recommend trying to play differently than your opponents.

Solak in Texas…..Vaughn in Chicago.   Do I have gold on my fantasy team in 22?
Brad Johnson
1:06
Vaughn has a straight-line path to big numbers. I don't think he'll get there, but the way forward is clear.
Keep mashing the ball, get better outcomes, find a mid-lineup role in the midst of that killer offense.
Solak... he's a project.
1:07
Good max EV and speed. I comp him to a poor man's Chris Taylor. He'll probably get 500 PA while flitting around the field.

I may not have been an idiot to hold onto Bellinger in general, but was it a bad move to not accept CJ Abrams, Jo Adell, and Shane Baz for him?
Brad Johnson
1:07
Without knowing more about your league, yeah, you might regret that one.
Usually though, the regret goes in the other direction.
So, I guess take solace in making the percentage play and it not panning out?

what happened to Cavan Biggio lasta year, and can he get back on track this year? 15/15 with a .250 BA too much to ask?
Brad Johnson
1:08
Not too much to ask. Something is missing with Biggio, and I'm worried about his neck.

nl only auction league.  Whose more valuable and worth the cost? I can keep 3- Julio urias at $23, wheeler at $28, O’Neil Cruz at $6, ketel Marte $16, Willy Adam’s $6 and mark melacon $8 - standard roto scoring.  It’s a pretty competitive league where players and tor pitchers specifically often go for much higher than their estimated cost.
Brad Johnson
1:09
Well, the easy thing to do is to cross Mark Melancon off that list. Huge saves total aside, he's barely a closer caliber reliever, and he's a DBack now
1:10
I need to do a little research to drum up auction values on Wheeler and Urias in NL-Only
My impression though is to keep the two pitchers and Adames.
As much as I love Cruz and Ketel.

Thoughts on using IP and QS vs. using W,L, and QS
