CJ Abrams starting to look like he knows what he is doing at the plate - think he is mixed league relevant next year?
Brad Johnson
1:53
Yes, but closer to the replacement level end of the pool. For leagues with MI.
You might be able to stream him even

Is Matt Brash still a starter prospect for keeper/dynasty leagues or is his ceiling just a high leverage reliever?
Brad Johnson
1:53
I think he's a reliever, but the stuff is good enough to start if the command ticks up a bit.
1:54
I remember watching his very first start this season. He shoved and I remember thinking "this dude can't throw a breaking ball in the zone." Sure enough, the stopped swinging out of zone.
That's the kind of adjustment hitters are better at making against a starter than a reliever. It's also a fixable problem for Brash.

Is Pasquantino worth a keeper spot? We get 7 and I'm looking to stay young (also have MH2, Adley, Acuna, etc)
Brad Johnson
1:55
Well, the etc. matters, but I do think Pasquantino is a monster in the making.

I already know that I have the 1st pick next year, straight roto league, classic. My best bet? Or, your best bet since you're making the pick for me now:
Brad Johnson
1:56
Ha! Well, first off, no need to lock it in now! I think we're going to be looking at Trea Turner, Mookie Betts, Aaron Judge, Julio Rodriguez, Ronald Acuna, Jose Ramirez, and Shohei (daily leagues) as #1 overall picks.
1:57
On the pitching side, a few folks will take a shot at deGrom if he makes it through the postseason healthy.
but most will be too wary of the injury risk
Candy Maldonado

How good do you think Matt Manning will be next year? Assuming reasonable health of course.
Brad Johnson
1:58
A few months back, I put out an inquiry to my scouting buddies about Manning. Basically worded as "any reason to believe Manning can pitch in the Majors absent a sudden increase in skill?" The answer I received was "no."
1:59
Of course, they knew I was asking for fantasy context, not if he could innings eat or mop up relieve. I'll have to ask them for a fresh take now that he's has 12 decent starts this season.
fwiw, I just don't see the necessary talent. He needs to find like 3 mph

Who do you see having more potential next year: Josh Jung or CJ Abrams?
Brad Johnson
2:00
Abrams has more potential, but I'd pick Jung if given the choice.

Am I the only one not completely tuned in and falling over for Judge's 60th homer. Right now it's the 8th most homers in a single season. Is there any other single season MLB milestone/event where we fall all over ourselves for 8th best ever?
Brad Johnson
2:01
Let's see...
2:02
8th-most strikeouts is 383 (Nolan Ryan). I think we'd be watching that guy
That's 12 K per outing for a 32 start season.
So it actually IS in play for a deGrom or Burnes.
2:03
Ryan also has the most Ks in a season since 1886
Stolen bases is the other one I think we could go bonkers over.
2:04
Old Billy Hamilton and John Ward stole 111 bags in the late 1800s.
Miranda
2:05
Worth keeping & carrying on my bench into next year? Will he be starting full time?
Brad Johnson
2:05
I think he'll play a bunch. They might try to arrange for him to be the first man off the bench
Another case where I like the guy, but it's very context dependent whether or not he's a keeper
2:06
I'll say this, I think he can give ya over 20 HR and a .275 AVG with run production commensurate with his lineup role.
Brant Brown
2:06
Does Kyle Lewis bounce back next year?
Brad Johnson
2:06
I don't have a properly calibrated crystal ball for that one
2:07
Basically, his knee (or knees?) is shredded.
So, it's a matter of how well his offseason rehab goes. You hear all the time about how knee recovery is a multi-year process.
Noelvi Marte/Jackson Chourio

We get to keep a minor league player for next season. Who do you keep?
Brad Johnson
2:07
Chourio
Runner Runner Chicken Gunnar
2:07
Thoughts on Gunnar Henderson for next year?  Early look this year has him being a 5 cat contributor at multiple positions, and the lineup around him will be improved too.  Where do you see him slotting in, in terms of comparable IF options?
Brad Johnson
2:08
He's going to go somewhere in the top 100 picks, I think.
Especially after Rodriguez supplied so much value this year.
