First, two of those players are valueless. So it's Clase for Kwan. That's not an insulting offer, but it also doesn't reflect present value sufficiently
1:51
I would, however, sell high on Clase if I can get a taut valuation
Masataka Yoshida
1:51
Do you like my projections?
Brad Johnson
1:51
I think the projections (on FanGraphs) are bullish. Could be a nice player though, especially in OBP.

Been offered Wander Franco & 1B Christian Walker & Kelenic for Jazz.  Should I do it?
Brad Johnson
1:53
I wouldn't. I prefer Jazz to Franco these days. I do think Franco's eventually going to break out, but the ramp might resemble Dansby more than, well, anyone who immediately explodes.
1:54
Lot of positive chatter about Kelenic too. If I'd been holding this long, I'd want to see how it shakes out rather than dealing him for one of Walker's last hurrahs

CRAP! I hit enter before finishing! ESPN 5x5 (OBP instead of Avg.), keep up to 7 (dynasty). Currently keeping Mookie, Acuña, Soto, Devers, Tatis, Vinnie P. and Gunnar Henderson. On the outs are Jazz, and Oneil Cruz. Think I should swap anyone for one of those two?
Brad Johnson
1:54
No, you got it.
Jazz for…
1:55
Cortes or May? If so, who would you trade as I have both but don’t have keeper room for both.
Brad Johnson
1:56
I prefer Jazz to both pitchers. I would just put both on a trade block and see which draws the more useful player. They profile very differently, but I don't have much of a preference.
Luis Garcia
1:56
Looked fantastic the other day in the WBC.  Is he ready to take the next step up.  Should I try to trade for him early on?
Brad Johnson
1:57
I've grown to like Garcia. I'm inherently mistrustful of FB pitchers at bandbox parks because they can vomit all over you without warning. Garcia's really proven he can handle it.
Brendan Donovan
1:57
Do you buy the power surge he’s showing in Spring? 10-15 homers this year with great AVG/OBP?
Brad Johnson
1:57
I can investigate more after hours. I'd by the surge if it's accompanied by a spike in EVs - like Nootbaar showed last spring.

I’m trying to land Clase at $5 in his option year.  Is Adolis Garcia, at $10 (option year) a strong enough offer?  I’m in AL ten-team league.  Thx
Brad Johnson
1:58
You can start there, but I'd plan to double it.

Whoops… took too many pitchers and need to cut one for a hitter. Which are you least interested in hanging onto: G. Whitlock, K. Bradish, D. Jameson, H. Wesneski, B. Garrett
Brad Johnson

Honestly, this is a fun collection of dart throws. I don't have much of an opinion. I think Whitlock is pretty mediocre as a SP, and they don't seem interested in letting him close.

Hey can I just brag on my league a bit?  The Greater O'Hare Baseball League is about to start our 40th season of Roto Baseball

Time for me to start wrapping up

Is Francisco Alvarez worth holding on to in a keeper league?
Brad Johnson
1:59
Without knowing more, yes, he has a promising future
Prospect gold?

Tyler Soderstrom, Brooks Lee, Kyle Manzardo....rank and which one is best to stash in Dynasty?  sounds like all will be in the show this year
Brad Johnson
2:00
You got it backwards in my book. Manzardo head and shoulders then Lee.

What are the positions this year you feel lack depth and would be good to fill early? Also I'm right there with you on White Castle, the only time I went there it was not fun. Would not recommend.
Brad Johnson
2:01
Premium closer is the only position that feels shallow to me. Others say 3B too, but I haven't had issues there.
My Cousin Vinny
2:01
Do you think Vinny Pasquantino builds on last year or regresses into the middle of pack first basemen like Vaughn, etc.?
Brad Johnson
2:02
I think he builds. He's very good. I get Goldy vibes from him.
PJ

In a 5x5 categories league, would you draft Cron or Mountcastle?
Brad Johnson
2:02
I prefer Mountcastle, but I'm open to drafting either. Perfectly acceptable mid-lineup accumulators
Brendan Donovan

Had an exit velo of 105.5 on a homer he hit this Spring. There was an article on MLB.com explaining how he is now using a heavier bat that he hopes will bring more power. I could see him as a McNeil-lite type this season.
Brad Johnson
2:03
Interesting about the bat. Heavier does help EVs so long as the player is strong enough.

Eleven team AL only bidding keeper league; 14 hitters 10 pitchers; can carry over 12 players each year.  Last keeper decision.  Kelenic who I can control for 3 years or Isbel who I can only control for this year.  Price identical for 2024.  Who do you keep?  thanks.
Brad Johnson
2:04
Kelenic might be something still, Isbel has interesting traits but has holes. Gotta ride Kelenic.
Corey B

What are your expectations for KB this year?
Brad Johnson
2:05
Kris Bryant? 30 dingers, mid-lineup run production, good AVG/OBP
He's a bargain
Elevated injury risk
