Well, Machado's hurt which, I dunno, maybe helps clear his mind? He's had these on-and-off years his entire career.
1:53
It usually works out in the end.
I'm hopeful about Musgrove. The results have been bad, but I'm not seeing any loss of skill.
Trade
1:54
Added Mitch Keller and Eduardo Rodriguez early, and already have a ton of pitching.  Realistic targets for them in a 6x6 (qs, k, era, whip, sv+HD, k/bb) league
Brad Johnson
1:54
Honestly, if you're holding performing pitchers, find the contender who is drowning and ask for their best player at a position of depth.
1:55
Functionally, probably someone like Ketel Marte or Tommy Edman, but you can always aim higher at first

Is diamondback OF Thomas a bust or do you see any future there?
Brad Johnson
1:55
There's future, but we can ignore him for a bit in redraft.

Is Mac Gore worth the investment this year?
Brad Johnson
1:56
I don't believe so.
Best case scenario, you get something like what Josiah Gray is doing, and it's still not really helping because the Nats are so... helpless.

10 team, 10x10, dynasty league: is Jorge Mateo back to his old ways, and thus should I be sending him back to the wire?
Brad Johnson
1:57
Much as I've doubted Mateo in the past, I'd at least hold on the bench for those juicy SBs.
Ruiz
1:57
Would you roster Ruiz just for his stolen base potential? He’s on pace for so many SB’s.
Brad Johnson
1:57
These two go together nicely. Yes, I would and I am.
1:58
The thing with these SB-only guys is you want them to be the first guy off your bench. So when someone is sitting or off, you can swap them in and catch some of the SBs.

One more...Paxton throwing 98. Is he that sleeper everyone looks for?
Brad Johnson
1:59
I love Paxton when he's healthy. I don't see throwing 98 as boding well for his continued health though. Ride the wave while you can.
David Hamilton
1:59
I’m crushing AAA, I’m leading the team in home runs & stolen bases, will I get the call to the show and worth stashing till he does?
Brad Johnson
2:00
He's only a deep league play. He's someone I constantly ask scouts about because they're so pessimistic, and his minor league stats keep showing year-over-year improvement.
2:01
Yeah, he's old for Triple-A, but he's also managing a 89.2-mph avg EV and 110.9-mph Max EV. His scouting report can be paraphrased as "garbage contact," but that's not what we're actually seeing in the data.
All that said, I'd view him as a 10 HR/600 PA type.
2:02
You're hoping he winds up like Tommy Edman
And expecting less.

My issue with mateo is that I'm already rostering a floundering Michael Harris in my bench spot.  😳
Brad Johnson
2:02
That's quite tricky. Might be time to explore trades. Must be a buyer for one of them.

Was last yr just a byproduct of being in a stacked Braves lineup for William Contreras?
Brad Johnson
2:03
No, he's having a nice season, actually.
Oh, I see what you mean.
2:04
Last year, he hit 27% HR/FB. Whether it was from network effects or plain luck, that wasn't his true talent level. Probably closer to 16-18%
2:05
He's a high GB-rate guy so don't expect 20 HR on the regular from him.
He's basically doing what we expected Tyler Stephenson to do. Which is good!
Tyler
2:06
In a keeper league, do you have more faith betting on Jared Walsh or Alex kirilloff?
Brad Johnson
2:06
No faith in either. I'd go for Walsh. Don't hold your breath.
Quantrill
2:06
Should I trade him for a reliever?  Would him for Fairbanks be a fair offer?
Brad Johnson
2:06
Yes, I'd dump Quantrill for best offer.
2:07
Fairbanks is a fine place to start.
Scherzer
2:07
Should we be concerned with the injury he is managing and try to trade him?
Brad Johnson
2:07
Yes. You can put him out there. It's hard to trade old guys who look injured.
Mooooo!
2:07
Does Cowser debut soon after return from injury?
