Brad, in my 5x5, NL-only league, my CI options are Brian Anderson (currently active, 7 games this week), Garrett Cooper (6 games), and Connor Joe (6 games).  Any reason to make a switch away from Anderson?  I don't have any particular category needs.

Honestly, they're the same asset class in my book. I don't know all of their matchups offhand so I'd just play whoever is set to face more scrubs. I'll add Coop is pretty hot at the moment.
He's been streaky historically. I'd swear every one of his hot streaks ends with an injury.

Brad, would you start Emmet Sheehan in COL this week?  Good chance for a win, but ERA & WHIP could suffer as his luck catches up to him.
Brad Johnson
1:33
I think I would. Unlike past seasons where the Rox still mash at home, they only have a .339 Coors wOBA this year. That would be the same as sitting Sheehan against the Angels. Would you do that?
Not Tom
1:33
Also what did you end up doing with Chase Meidroth
Brad Johnson
1:35
Still have that one share. Tom sends me a message every couple days about how well he's playing. I still can't get anybody connected to talk him up to me.
It's always, "well, he hits, but..."
1:36
I don't have a Red Sox contact. :)
Better chance of saves for rest of season
1:36
Who will get the most saves for the rest of the season:  Miguel Castro, Dylan Floro and Robert Suarez.  The latter two would seem to require a trade of Puk or Hader, neither of which seems likely.
Brad Johnson
1:36
Suarez is a distant third for me.
1:37
Puk's hurt so often that Floro could find himself with a dozen saves by season's end.
He's already at 7 though, so I guess let's amend that to 15 saves.
1:38
Castro really shouldn't be closing games. He's my go-to name for rep-level middle reliever.
McGough is a better option now, and they totally should acquire somebody. Kendall Graveman?
1:39
The Sox can't develop prospects so they might like the idea of a finished product like Dominic Fletcher.

If Vargas doesn't turn things around soon, I have to think the Dodgers send him back down and trade for a 2B. How much of hit in long-term value for Vargas?
Brad Johnson
1:39
Queue is nearly empty - a reversal from last week when I had a ton of questions to get through.
1:40
I dunno. I feel like he's showing enough to stick around, especially if Taylor's knee remains an issue.
1:41
That's supposed to be a short-term injury fwiw. But ya never know.
The main issues are 1. too many lame fly balls. 2. Selling out for contact instead of maximizing quality contact.
1:42
The Dodgers are savvy, if they're not already working on this, it's because they're focused on something else that'll elevate his game.

Do you think that there is any credible chance that the Yankees will bring up Peraza?  If so, who goes down, Cabrera?  And, where would he play, 3B as posited by MLBTR?
Brad Johnson
1:43
I can't imagine where else he'd play. Volpe did get the dreaded "vote of confidence" recently so he *might* yet be demoted. I tend to believe they view him as a core ingredient of the clubhouse.
And they can't keep him around on the bench.
1:44
I'm not a Peraza stan in any case. He's interesting but far from can't miss. Ideally, he'd be a high-quality super utility type. Probably trade bait in actuality - if there's anything out there worthy of acquisition.
1:45
Which I kind of doubt the Yankees will find anybody who fits. There's only like 4-5 non-contenders, and one of them (Cardinals) will be thinking about present value pitching.

In an obp categories league that starts 2 catchers, I may have to choose between T Stephenson, F Alvarez, and H Davis. Who would be the odd man out? Currently rostering all 3, may need to drop one.
Brad Johnson
1:46
I'd lean Davis as the cut as of today with Stephenson a close second. You can assess your needs to see if either of them better fits your roster.
Kirilloff
1:46
I’m concerned about the wrist again, talk me out of dropping him. I have Vinnie for next year and need to activate Votto, the rest of my roster is solid outside of first base.
Brad Johnson
1:48
I'm fine with cutting him. He has no top-end impact on the ball. He's playing as a 35 power 1B. It isn't sustainable.
35 on the 20/80 scale, not 35 HR.
stashing prospects
1:48
since the que is emptying - any double A or below prospects you think could make it to the show with little AAA experience?  Especially looking for ones you think could get called up this year.
Brad Johnson
1:48
Oh man, I am not prepared for this question!
1:50
Colt Keith, Johan Rojas, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Evan Carter
Keith is a DH. Bat's ready or close enough.
1:51
Rojas and PCA are elite defenders who could do just enough with the bat to tread water
Carter upgrades a Rangers OF playing way over their heads.

Can Jake McCarthy be a top 30 outfielder?

Call ups, Connor Phillips, Colt Keith
