I hope so, but I don't see the motivation for the Tigers. They can contend for compensation if they just give him a late-season taste and run with him next year.
1:37
He only has 34 Triple-A PA
Buyer’s Remorse

my team is blessed with way too much speed (Elly, Corbin, Wander, Mclain) and terrible pitching. So I flipped Wander for Glasnow and Morel… I think I got the short end but addressed a key need. How much sleep should I lose over it?
Brad Johnson
1:37
Yea.... I would call that a bad trade, but I'm the sort who doesn't fret about the past.
You know, what's done is done. Move on.
1:38
Sometimes bad trades are still league winners.
1:39
Best example of that was a time when I traded peak Michael Brantley for a slightly busted Dee Gordon. I gained 5 spots in the SB category, won every other offensive category (so Brantley couldn't have helped) and won the league by 1 point.

Is Stanton a good trade target if he can be had at somewhat of a discount? Or maybe swap another struggling player like Javier for him?
Brad Johnson
1:40
I like targeting Stanton as a buy low. I would want more for Javier unless I had a real surplus of arms.

Drop one (or trade!) when Yordan comes back: Cowser, Nootbar, McCarthy, Jarren Duran
Brad Johnson
1:41
I'd put 'em all on the block and say you want a 1-for-1. If any of them solves a different problem, great! If not, it probably depends on your needs.
I have to figure somebody will want McCarthy or Duran's SBs, assuming you have some room to spare in that category.

I finally cut Luis Severino.   Let him be someone else’s problem.   I should have cut him ___ weeks ago.
Brad Johnson
1:42
Like week 3?
I have a co-manager who's still obsessed with buying low on him.
I think he's entirely busted, but not in a way that he couldn't reinvent himself.
His past tricks don't work with his current stuff.

There was an article written that suggested I should be a reliever to protect my arm
Brad Johnson
1:43
Maybe. That's up to him and the org. Works for some guys. Others don't get much of a health bump from relieving. Especially the hard-throwing types.
As I recall, he doesn't really play up in relief either.

Do you think J Lawler gets called up this year?
Brad Johnson
1:44
I don't think so.
I expect the DBacks would rather not throw him into a pressure cooker. It's not like they have an issue at SS.
1:45
Like, I wouldn't project Lawlar to outperform Perdomo in 2023.
Barbarino
1:45
Does Cowser stick in Baltimore for the rest of the year?
Brad Johnson
1:45
I think so. I imagine that's why it took so long. They had to juggle and evaluate guys until they could give Cowser a legitimate look.
1:46
Now it's up to him to perform. If he looks like a project over the coming weeks, he turns into trade bait.

Any specific prospects that you seem to like more than others in dynasty leagues?
Brad Johnson
1:47
Nathan Martorella, Zach Dezenzo, Johan Rojas, River Ryan
On the high end, Jackson Merrill. I wasn't worried when he started slow.
1:48
Now he's hot at a tough environment.
Who says no
1:48
Bichette and Evan Phillips for Elly and Lane Thomas
Brad Johnson
1:49
Pretty fair for a redraft. The Bichette owner might prefer a straight 1-for-1. Elly owner says no in any kind of keeper/dynasty
Stanton
1:49
Stanton was just dropped. Worth cutting Julks for him?
Brad Johnson
1:49
If you need HR, yes. If you need SB or a rounded skill set, probably not.

Lodolo or story as an il stash
Brad Johnson
1:50
I haven't heard much on Lodolo lately. But I think this is pretty easy - which profile do you need more.
1:51
Like, set aside all the bad outcomes. Best case scenario for either player, which one of them is winning you the league?
Mike
1:52
Do you think Grayson Rodriguez will get a call up soon? How do you think he will do whenever he does?
Brad Johnson
1:52
Yea, I do. He's been pitching really well in Triple-A.
