If the Rangers are good next year, he might close for them heading into the postseason
Dynasty League
1:36
Thoughts on stashing Chourio? Will he be worth holding onto for next year or is he trade bait?
Brad Johnson
1:38
He's a bit like Rodriguez in that his early-career fantasy production will be based on HR/SB. He's an exciting prospect, but you could look into selling high in shallower formats.
Tommy John
1:38
Is there any point at all in continuing to hold Buxton, either because he seems to be made of glass or because he just can't seem to put it together, despite his immense talent?
Brad Johnson
1:39
The "point" is likely that his production exceeds trade offers
Ro
1:39
will Ty France have enough of a bounce back to be a viable fantasy option
Brad Johnson
1:39
He's roughly a rep level starter in 12-team mixed
1:40
He's had some bad luck on fly balls this year. Should have around 12 HR, not 7

16 team dynasty again....Am I wrong for holding on to Isaac Paredes when I was offered Skubal and picks yesterday?
Brad Johnson
1:41
I would have taken that deal, but 1. I'm one of the highest on Skubal and 2. I'm THE lowest on Paredes. I don't understand why he isn't bad.
1:42
I mean, I guess I do. The Rays are just so good about using guys situationally. And they have a team that mashes high fastballs. Paredes runs counter, he's a sinker-masher. The Rays see a lot of pitches low in the zone as a result, which has helped Paredes to high-roll his outcomes.
1:43
I think if Paredes were on one of 26 or so other teams, we'd barely know his name.
Help please
1:43
Need to pick up a starter, edward cabrwra, Michael kopech, or manning
Brad Johnson
1:43
I'd go for Kopech and hope for a fun trade.
Andrew Abbott
1:44
I seem to be outperforming some metrics (hard hit rate, barrel rate). Is this just the pitcher that I am, or am I due for a huge regeression?
Brad Johnson
1:45
Sort of... Abbott is running a .192 BABIP. He's a legit low BABIP pitcher, but that means like .240ish. i.e. 5 percent more hits going forward. More hits = more baserunners at which point his elevated HR rate will tell.
1:46
He has 1.29 HR/9 currently and projects for between 1.2 and 2.1 HR/9

Can Lane Thomas keep this up? Worried about a regression to his norms
Brad Johnson
1:47
Yea...worried about a lot of things. I think Thomas is sort of benefiting from being on a bad team. He's not good enough for opponents to bother avoiding him, and the Nats are so often trailing by a lot. He gets to face a lot of mop up guys.

I pulled off a 7-for-1 deal in a 10-team dynasty league. Bonkers. Permanent keepers. I traded Wander Franco for:

Eziquel Tovar, Marcelo Mayer, Evan Carter, Taj Bradley, Jackson Jobe, Kyle Harrison, and Jacob Misiorowski.

Was I correct to accept that offer?
Brad Johnson
1:47
I would not have in 10-team.
1:48
In 20-team, yea, that looks good.
1:49
The thing with 10-team "dynasty" is that the supply of prospects is virtually limitless. You want to aggregate into Wander Franco and then pick up 6 new prospects to buy your next Franco in 4 months.

Tanner Bibee or Gavin Williams..  if you want to trade one (return JRod).. who do you keep?
Brad Johnson
1:49
I'd keep Williams

Do I - as commissioner of a long-running league - have any responsibility to notify a manager about him repeatedly not using all of his roster spots? He will go weeks or even months playing one or two spots short. I want to make sure the league is competitive, though to be fair, he's still one of the better players despite this. Does him being kind of a jerk influence how to handle it?
Brad Johnson
1:49
haha
1:50
I gotta admit, this is a challenging situation. I totally would point this out to somebody I like and otherwise not mention it.
1:51
Maybe just post a general league note saying something to the effect of: To clarify, our league uses X positions with Y bench spots.
Druw Jones for PCA?
1:51
I banked on Druw Jones upside by trading PCA for him. Think I made a mistake?
Brad Johnson
1:52
Possibly! Sure feels like you should have gotten a second piece with Jones. PCA is a top 10 prospect (slightly below that in fantasy).
Billy Martin Breathes
1:52
Realmuto is a shell of his old self. Should I drop him for Contreras (mil)?
Brad Johnson
1:52
Yes, you can
1:53
Contreras is hitting like the JTR of yore
Bob the Builder
1:53
What sort of AL pitcher can I get in a 12 tm AL roto for Seager (when back) or Alvarez?
Brad Johnson
1:53
Should be able to take your pick
1:54
I prefer those hitters to any AL pitcher. So it's just a matter of finding a team with excess pitching. Or a willingness to trade pitching.
Bob the Builder

Thoughts on the impact Means has on 2nd half for Os
Brad Johnson
1:55
As a changeup artist, Means has historically taken some time before he heats up. I'm not sure he'll pitch enough to lock in.
