I haven't been monitoring ownership rates in normal formats so I'm going to skip that part.
1:42
re: Garrett in particular, I really wish the Nats would just play him regularly. Just to see if those crazy EVs translate into something with more experience.
Steals
1:42
Has the throw over/pitch clock/bigger bases had the desired outcome?
Brad Johnson
1:42
Steals are up, though I'm not sure how much of that is rules-based and how much is from preexisting changes in player dev + earlier call ups.

How do you think Trevor Story performs ROS? Should I pick him up?
Brad Johnson
1:43
He's worth a flier in case we get the vintage version. From what I'm hearing, expect closer to last season - at least to start.
Luis robert

What sp’s would you target in a trade for him?
Brad Johnson
1:43
The top guys

What would you do if you were a Sean Murphy owner rn? (Redraft). It's a piss off that he gets a day off every other day, would you try trading him or picking up another guy?
Brad Johnson
1:44
No, you're not going to find better.

I saw your answer about Cowser, whats your opinion on the other Orioles rookie Jordan Westburg ROS value?
Brad Johnson
1:45
Pretty unimpressive but otherwise useful? Is that an answer?

Funniest question someone's ever asked you on one of these?
Brad Johnson
1:46
I wish something popped to mind. I've had a lot of "I got offered [superstar] for these three [scrubs], should I do it?" over the years. Yes, trade any number of scrubs for any number of stars.

maybe if I rephrase it!: would you go for J Bell or J Burger in NL 5x5 if you had to jettison Flores, McCarthy or S Frelick to do it?
Brad Johnson
1:47
If you don't need the SBs from McCarthy/Frelick, yes I would.
1:48
I really like Burger, though he remains an unfinished product.

Is Matt McLain worth trading for in Redraft, I'm thin at 2B? U think he'll keep it up and is the real deal?
Brad Johnson
1:49
I have doubts about how well he'll sustain this. Going into the season, I thought he was a mediocre hitter whose traits would play well at GABP. That is what we're seeing. I didn't expect the BABIP or barrel rate.
If you can buy the equivalent of his current output at a .330 BABIP, I think that's worth pursuing.
If he's being priced as improving (often the case), you should look elsewhere.

When I'm looking at how a team fares against LH/RH pitchers, is it better to look at team wOBA or team wRC+? Thanks!
Brad Johnson
1:50
Any reason why you can't do both?
1:51
wOBA speaks to what actually happens better than wRC+, but the adjusted context is helpful too.
Ultimately, it only really matters for Coors Field hitters (use wOBA)
They're pretty much all use at home, sit away hitters anyway

For Luis Castillo? Or too low of a sp?
Brad Johnson
1:52
That's fine. I'm assuming you really need SP or have big leads in hitter categories.

I'm somehow leading my league despite being dead last in SBs.  Do you think it's worth trying to fix a single category at this point or just double down on doing very well in all other categories?   Standard redraft league.
Brad Johnson
1:52
Depends on where you are in the standings.
1:53
If you're dead last but only 10 steals back of 5 points, address the category.
If you're 40 steals back of second-to-last, forget about it and trade any SB-first guys you have left for other categories.
1:54
You have to figure out how realistic it is for you to recover points in the category - and what risks you're taking to chase them.
1:55
Like, I recently traded Alex Bregman and stuff for Trea Turner and stuff in a league I lead. I'm taking the risk of losing 1 pt in OBP to maybe gain 3 pts in SB.
Everything else should balance imo

Where do I rank amongst dynasty leaguers?
Brad Johnson
1:55
top 10. I'd have to look more closely to be more specific

OPS over 1.000 but stuck in AAA. Does he get a call up before September?
