What is Oneil Cruz's future?
Brad Johnson
2:04
Extremely volatile, possibly injury plagued.

Who do you think would be the next Corbin Carroll?
Houzer
2:04
I've heard Arizona broadcasters call Jordan Lawlar then second coming of Corbin Carroll. Cant be true ... right?
Brad Johnson
2:04
I mean, it's a lazy comp.
2:05
Lawlar was one of the only guys drawing 70-grade overalls in the minors. But he's a bit divisive. Some scouts viewed him as only a 50.

i am holding Alonso and Harper in a keep 5 forever and am waiting on my Soto offer from Houzer. would gladly take it

Always a treat when these chats turn into an arbitration session

Where are bradish and Grayson in pitcher ranked for next yr? Also what do you think of CES surge and what it means for next year?
Brad Johnson
2:06
CES should be pretty much assured the DH role plus some days floating around so others can rest. Votto's out, assuming they don't resign him for the feelz.
2:08
I'm not ready to snap down rankings on Bradish and Grayson. Seem like solid mid-tier guys. Shouldn't be one of your top 2 arms.

Im struggling with Gunnar prob not making my keeper team cut. Feels like he's gonna go 35/15 next season will 100 runs and .275BA.
Brad Johnson
2:09
That's pretty impressive. Gunnar's way up the keeper list. But I feel ya a bit. I'm looking at him as my best way to "consolidate" my roster over the winter by sending him and a couple other studs for an Acuna type.

Does Gunnar play SS and Holiday play 2B?  I heard that suggested on a broadcast last week.
Brad Johnson
2:09
I think it'll be 3B for Gunnar and SS for Holliday.
2:10
Notably, Holliday still mostly plays SS. They'd move him to 2B more if they were planning that.
Kirt
2:10
With Westburg at 2B?
Brad Johnson
2:10
Westburg isn't a lock for a role.
2:11
But yes, that's probably how it should go.
Can they give up their fixation on poor-hitting LHH FA 2Bs?

Championship week for me, do I drop Kerry Carpenter for Evan Carter?
Brad Johnson
2:11
Not if you need power
2:12
If it's other categories you want, it's fair to try
2024 Padres-
2:12
Do you think Robert Suarez -- is the most likely closer in SD --next year--assuming Hader departs-
Brad Johnson
2:12
I sorta assume it's a Suarez/Barlow led committee, and that feels like a group where a surprise like Morejon could walk away as the actual closer.
2:13
Don't rule out them re-signing Hader.
Or making a trade.
The Padres don't do half-measures.

Would you set Ha Seong Kim as a keeper? Would he be even better next season?
Brad Johnson
2:13
Expecting him to be better feels like a trap. That said, he's comfortably a keep for me in all but the shallowest formats.

What are your thoughts on Nelson Velazquez?     He was traded from Cubs to Royals.   Little playing time with Cubs and lots of PT for Royals.   Lots of HRs.
Brad Johnson
2:14
He's interesting and flawed. I'd love to have some shares.

Rodgers or Hoerner this week - 5x5
Brad Johnson
2:16
Hoerner for me. I've never been impressed with Rodgers. I know he's "hot" lately. So, if you're playing for power/lucky outcomes, you could try Rodgers. Speed and protecting your floor favor Hoerner.

Is Tyrone Taylor worth keeping in a deep league?    He was awful early on, but that may have been injury related.  He has been great recently. Is it because he is healthy?
Brad Johnson
2:17
I like Taylor as an athlete, but the league would have to be very deep. Like, I have a 20-team, keep-28 format where I'm not even thinking about picking him up. Also happens to be a weekly OBP league where he plays down.

What happened to Jeremy Pena? His performance has been down this season.  Would he have a bounce back next season?
Brad Johnson
2:19
I might view him as a late SS target. We'll see how the ADPs shake out.
I feel like SS is going to have a good 8 or so really tempting late options and only 2-3 will actually pan out and help win leagues.

Ty Black has a higher offensive ceiling than Jace Peterson...right??
