Sean - aside from the effects of light, when do you stop? For me, my wall and floor space can't keep up with the art coming in (though 2019 was a dry, dry year)

After seeing the awesome extra sized commissions Paul has bren doing, especially yours Jason K. I started imagining how Paul would crush a berserk commission, going to have to save up for it though

I have some larger pieces I'd love to get framed, but I don't have anywhere to hang them at the moment.

10:52
I really enjoyed seeing my art hung up on the walls. But living in CA, it can make me nervous, too.
10:53
My buddy Lambert has a ton of stuff hung up on his walls, but he's mostly sticking to commissions for that these days. A lot of that has to do with values. So I find myself leaning that way as well, mostly sticking with commissions to hang.
Jason K
10:53
Felix - did. Wasn't as terrible as I thought it was after our talk. The roundtable was fantastic. Andy is so funny
Felix Lu
10:54
Cool! Was wondering if anything had changed for you since we recorded it 6-7 months ago. If any thought process had changed or if you wanted to correct/clarify anything you said.
Newell
10:54
Ha, that makes sense.
Tim D
10:54
The caution I would suggest is maybe have the piece for awhle before framing, losing favor with a piece after spring for the framing feels bad.
Nick

Always remind me of the art Erik Larsen lost in a fire. You Yankees should us all of your art in Europe. I guarantee you it'll be safe here. Lol
Felix Lu
10:55
Wouldn't surprise me if there was some prime comic art sitting in a Swiss freeport!
(As an aside...the big DKR splash that sold for a record at Heritage in 2011 came from a Swiss collector...)
Cristian C.
10:55
I dont hang too much up, but my gigsntic Lone Wolf & Cub piece by Paul Got framed immediately.
Felix Lu
10:55
Yeah...that was kind of a no-brainer;)
10:56
Hey Cristian!
Newell
10:56
Tim - thats a good idea. the two pieces I'm thinking of I've had since HeroesCon last year, and I still would like to get them framed.
Jason K
10:56
Felix - actually I was thinking about what you were saying about the focus/impulse buying. Noticed more how targeted your collection is vs. say mine
Felix Lu
10:56
That's only because certain things are up on CAF...I've got a ton that's not up. Mostly just haven't had time to upload. But if you saw everything, you wouldn't feel the same way, lol!
10:57
Like...does anyone need or care to see 50+ MANHATTAN PROJECTS pages? I'm not even sure I need to anymore, haha!
Jason K
10:57
Definitely has me thinking more deeply about what I really really want moving forward
Felix Lu
10:58
Well, that's always good...but don't base that on me! I'm a terrible example to follow!
Adi
10:58
Felix, any insight into what Nick Dragotta has lined up for the future?
Felix Lu
10:58
Yes...solo creator-owned! Very exciting!
Adi
10:58
Hahaha - Felix, sign me up for those MP pages!
Newell
10:58
I wouldn't mind seeing the MP pages... lol
Adi
10:59
I was lucky to snag a couple of MP pages from CAF and CLink
Felix Lu
10:59
Nice! Still love for MP!
11:00
In all seriousness...at its best, some of my all-time favorite comics...I'm doing this now because of how hyped I got for MP and Nick's art.
Jason K
11:00
Think the hanging commissions is good thinking. Go big and hang it up
Felix Lu
11:00
YUP!
Cristian C.
11:00
Thats exactly what ive been thinking about as of late, Jason. There are a few things I really want right now that’s out there that is POSSIBLE for me to obtain, but i want to move some other stuff I dont necessarily NEED in my collections.
Felix Lu
11:01
I think you'll find yourself going back and forth...collecting can be very fluid...for example, sometimes I'm more into published art than commissions...other times, I'm more into commissions...it can change.
Mike Cichy
11:01
Just wanted to say hello to Felix and all the collectors. Just received a Nic Klein head shot of the Shadow. Awesome.
Felix Lu
11:02
Hey Mike!!
Adi
11:02
Dragotta solo creator owned and drawn traditionally? (one can hope)
Felix Lu
11:03
Yes. Hopefully. He had to draw EAST OF WEST digitally to stay on schedule. And we all agree it was the right decision. But at same time...he left a LOT of money on the table, OA wise. So I think he's going to figure out some sort of balance with this next project. But his call, ultimately.
Newell
11:03
I always looked forward to reading MP when it was coming out. It was so much fun!
Felix Lu
11:03
Right?? The first 20 issues or so...pure gold.
Jason K
11:03
Sup Cristian!
