The applications of NFT seem interesting and meaningful beyond the digital art realm (property deeds, etc) but this wild west of minting digital files seems like a psychotic flash bang.

@Francis, I never heard of boss logic until today

@Felix non-NFT question, what has been the impact of the lack of cons on the original art market? It would appear that demand is even higher and artists have more time to do commissions but I would like to hear your perspective.
Felix Lu
4:51
@Hassan....we've always been busy, shows or no shows, so I couldn't really say. Our model has never been dependent on shows.

@Felix Lu - I'll be curious to see how they make royalty cross platform, or if it's even possible.   Seems like with an open platform like this, it will just take a couple bad actors to mess it up.  I'm guessing it will take strong community norms to enforce.

What current books by Felix repped artists are y’all most looking forward to snagging at a future drop? I’m loving Crossover, amongst others.
Fabrice Stroun

@Robert Coleman. Yes, but the reason is that they did things with the printed medium that they didn't do in painting and sculpture. With comics, I'm thinking of artists who'se work don't hide the fact that it's digital, actually make soemthing out of those tools. I'm thinking of Kyle Baker or Gerads. A print of one of their pages would feel more special to me than a handmade sketch.
Felix Lu
4:53
@Fabrice...does it matter if it's 1/1?
Andy K
4:53
@David Ultra Mega and Precious Metal for sure!
Satya
4:53
I would also like to point out re: fine art prints vs comic art prints - there is some amount of technique involved in the former. Stone lithographs require some amount of work. A giclee is essentially a printout.
(Also, hello everyone)

My son drew this when he was 8. He's the next James Harren. NFT?
Felix Lu
4:53
@Andy...that's better than a lot of NFT art I've seen lol
Fabrice Stroun
4:54
@ Felix from a market perspective, yes.Would be more expensive.  But if it is well printed, on archival paper and signed, in term of desirability, no.
Ben H
4:54
@Andy K, I'll give him 0.01 ETH for it!

Better than Tradd Moore

I don't know if anyone buys James Jean's prints from his official store, but there is a whole lot of work that goes into them. Color selection, right kind of paper, embossments, it's a joy to look at the physical end result. Are there comic art digital prints that get to that level of detail and care? Maybe Alex Ross does - and he's minting money.
Felix Lu
4:56
@Satya...sure, prints, especially as you describe, are legitimate art objects. Just for me, at the point, having collected one-of-a-kind OA for so long, they're just not that compelling to me anymore. That's all I'm saying. Everyone who enjoys them, please continue doing so!

Did anyone pay attention to the recent NFT drop that Jason's artists had?  Seems like there was not a lot of interest and a lot of them are simply languishing.
Felix Lu
4:56
@Ben...is there a correction already happening? Have not noticed. But removing Marvel/DC from the equation will affect marketability for sure.
Francis
4:56
@Andy K, i will give 1 million Frankcoins.
Malvin
4:56
@satya!
David Slatkin
4:56
@Andy—good looks on Ultra Mega and Precious Metal.
Robert Coleman
4:56
@ David Slatkin If Beta Ray Bill pages are going to go up on Felix' site, we're all going to be wearing out the refresh button for those drops.
Felix Lu
4:57
@Robert...we'll be breaking up one issue. Best of luck in advance to all DWJ fans!
Andy K
4:57
@Ben sorry, changed his mind from NFT to NFS
Ben H
4:57
@Satya, JJ's a freak of nature.  His prints are truly pieces of fine art.  Especially with the spots and sculpting that's been going into the recent ones.
Fabrice Stroun
4:57
@ Satya. In the late 80s, many French cartoonists started working with artisanal master printers. Edition were small, 20 to 50. these things are as object, incredible to look at.
Rick Yankosky
4:57
@David Add DWJ’s Beta Ray Bill book to Andy’s list of things to look forward to
Satya

@Malvin!

Felix, interestingly, some of the pieces were DC art, so I was wondering if they had an agreement with DC or were just going rogue.
Felix Lu
4:58
@Ben...those were minted before the DC announcement.
Jacob M

Here’s a non-NFT question... I got on Bergara’s commission list and can’t decide what to have him to... options on the table...
4:59
sauron (lotr not marvel), sephiroth, bryagh (dragon from Flight of Dragons)
Robert Coleman

I had a feeling that there would be a lot of complete issues sold of BRB. Hopefully Ultra-Mega is too big for one buyer to hog up. I still need James Harren art in my collection.
Felix Lu
5:00
@Robert...Chat exclusive: ULTRAMEGA #1 has sold complete. 60 page monster. But otherwise, other issues may be too big to be sold complete. So there should be a good chance to get a page. James spills his guts on each page. They're amazing.
Ben H
5:00
Felix, I see.  Does that mean that it's ok to sell if the NFT is already minted?  I'd think that DC would still want to have a stake in it as they
Felix Lu
5:01
@Ben...no idea! Had no interest in getting into that discussion myself, lol!
Casey A

@Jacob, I'd love to see Seph after his Cloud piece for the first round of Felix's charity auctions
Ben H

... they still use DC's trademarked characters.
