@Satya...I don't believe it works. It only serves to inspire the competition to become even more insane. Regardless, I wait until the end and let the chips fall where they may.

Hi everyone
Looks like I'll have some light reading from the chat transcript tonite
Tom Franck
5:10
Crazy times for the hobby for sure.
Jacob M
5:10
@Felix. Thanks. I’ll email you shortly :)
Fabrice Stroun

@ Felix. Same with me. But as more and more artists I like are now working exclusively digitally, trying to figure out how to scratch my collecting itch, what to buy, etc. Still old school, need things to be physical, NFTs simply doesn't appeal to me
Felix Lu
5:11
@Fabrice...well, on that front, certainly, I'll take a print over a digital file (NFT or not) any day!
Not Gene Park
5:11
@Andy K, people often bid early to accelerate price discovery and find out if their stick is gonna be big enough or not.
Felix Lu
5:11
Haha! Hey Gene!
Andy K
5:12
@malvin @francis @satya thanks! still shaking my head

hi Felix, I know it’s too early to tell but C2E2 got moved to December. If we are on track with vaccines and openings and also if artists are comfortable. Will you guys be there?
Felix Lu
5:12
@Guest...please sign in with your name! But too soon to say anything about C2E2 in December for us.
Fabrice Stroun
5:12
Right. And if we have to settle for prints, I'm saying there are ways to make these desirable, something that is much more than a "printed poster"
David Slatkin
5:13
@jacob—great question!!! I’m going to have to follow up on that as well🙌
Tom Franck
5:13
Curious if there were plans for NFTs for Saga pages.  Not that I'd be interested, but that was the first thing I thought of.
Felix Lu
5:13
@Tom...yes, an obvious candidate. Same with Nick Dragotta's EAST OF WEST.

In a quick scan of the chat so far, I saw the word "bubble".  Recently picked up my first NBA Top Shot pack.  Paid $199, sold the Rare moment for $370.  It was a fun experience.  A perfect mixture of trading cards, casino gaming, and pyramid scheme.
Felix Lu
5:14
@Dan T...can you pull that $370 out? If not, then it still belongs to the "house"!
Satya
5:14
@Felix I agree with you. Someone else trying out price discovery on a piece helps me calibrate my own strategy/end price. In the end though, the winner is the auction house and the seller. If someone wants to try price discovery on pieces I consign, more power to them. ;)
Felix Lu
5:14
@Satya...exactly...if I'm selling, I'm all about price discovery! LOL!
Malvin
5:14
hi all, nice chatting but I gotta swing by the bank before running errands, gotta get a money order for a physical art purchase!
Satya
5:14
@Fabrice I am with you. Have you seen any of Olly Moss's superhero paper-cuts or even his print work for superhero movies for Mondo? Very impressive.
Jacob M
5:15
I gotta bounce. Thanks for the chat and everyone for chiming in on my questions! :)
Felix Lu
5:15
Bye Malvin and Jacob!
Ben H
5:15
People still use money orders?
Felix Lu
5:15
@Ben...pretty sure that guy won't be buying NFTs...
Satya
5:15
@Malvin you are buying too many Lobo covers

Hey Felix!  Interesting chat.  I think NFTs have a big future - I totally get the appeal myself - but right now it's in late '90s dot-com bubble mode. Back then, you could add ".com" or "Internet strategy" to any company and it would go up by multiples; now anything "NFT" is suddenly worth an order of magnitude or more than its physical world counterpart. My prediction? Big bubble, epic crash, and then the quality creators/platforms/projects will emerge from the rubble in a more realistic/sustainable market.
Felix Lu
5:18
@Gene...that's pretty much how I see it, too. Also, the tech has to improve on energy consumption. If only from a PR standpoint.

I never bid on an auction unless I can bid live in the last moments. I decide on my top price, but don't hit the button until the end. Bid sniping is real. If someone else wants it more than me: good for them, they win!
Fabrice Stroun
5:18
@Satya. No, but thank you, will check them out
Ben H
5:18
Next piece of art I buy, I'm going to pay for with stack of $1 bills.

Good night everyone (I'm on Standard European Time +1). Felix, one quick question not related to the subject of the chat: Is Ramon Vilallobos curently  taking commissions ?
Felix Lu
5:19
@Fabrice...nothing has changed since we e-mailed last about Ramon, sorry!
Dan T
5:19
@Felix - I can't pull it out yet because I'm not up on the KYC line yet, but I'd be able to pull it out eventually.  That said, I deposited $243, including fees, my balance is about $390 and I Have 6 moments in my collection.  Now that I have that house money (same term I use), I'm just going to keep buying packs and selling the best Moments I can.  My risk is low, if I don't ever get to pull my money out before the bust, it was funny money, and I can just have fun seeing how high I can get my balance.  I absolutely think the risk people have sunk in, if Dapper busts is real, but at a low level like mine, it's all fun.
Felix Lu
5:22
@Dan...let us know how it goes. I am very happy to have no interest in it myself, whatsoever. One dumb hobby is enough!
Josh Hall
5:22
Hello, just joining! Going to catch up now.
Rick Yankosky
5:22
@Ben 😂 Albert’s art is cheaper when paying by money order!
Andy K
5:22
@not gene park - thanks! I think this only provides an estimate of the price based on the smaller pool of players that believe in price discovery. If there are many more in the speak softly camp the price is not being discovered until the last bid. be interesting to run a regression on this! maybe you have ;-)

Good night & thanks for the chat
