@Felix Yeah, prices are getting out of control. I mentioned during ComicArt Live that I was underbidder on about five pieces, which made me nuts!

@felix Most of the stuff I wanted was priced super high, so all my bids were on Satuday, second tier. I figured just drop in a bid and maybe I'll get lucky. Some of it was thinking ahead as trade fodder, stuff I knew would go up.

One good thing is slabbed books seem to be going through the roof too. I bought FF #48 about three years ago for $3700 but one sold at Heritage for close to $20k!!!!! Normally I'd sell to buy art, but with the prices going so high, I'll hang on to the book!

@Ron...when I started collecting art 16 years ago, I sold all the slabs...which looked like a great move...until the last year or so! Slabs have just gone nuts, even more than art. But no way I could have both, so slabs had to go. No regrets at all, regardless of what's been going on!

@Felix My biggest regret is maybe ten years ago. I bid my life savings on Amazing Fantasy #15 and came in as underbidder.  That book is now worth five times what it went for. Easilly over $500k. HURTS.

@Ron...a lot of investor/speculator money flowing into slabs because of what's been going on in cards...AF #15 seen as the one with the most potential to "go Mantle". So this may just be the beginning for AF #15...(or maybe everything crashes by end of the year, I'm not betting either way!).

Well, I just don't care (much) about auctions, too many eyes over the same pieces, and they are great originals but for me I know the probabilities are much less than trying to get an original on Felix art drops.

Luckily, I bought an Amazing Fantasy 15 in 5.0 to lick my wounds. Think I paid around $5k ten years ago, Easily $40k now.

@Ron: love that you're such a fan. Aside from missing out on AF15 do you regret selling pages you've done in past? There were some recent auctions with Infinity Gauntlet stuff that went for seriously high prices..

@Ron and @TJ I sold off a few hot modern keys last year thinking they had to have hit their peak only to have them double since then. Glad to have kept all of my silver age and high grade stuff.
