I'm not in Chicago so I can't speak to the fan aspect of it, but everything you said there makes sense to me
3:41
My general inclination is that he's not a very good owner, I agree. Even strictly from a baseball perspective, he's very heavily involved in a way that's often detrimental to team success

I don't believe the Rays or Guardians are going to seriously pursue Sean Murphy as the prospect cost would be prohibitive. The Cards have the payroll to sign Wilson or Vazquez. Who else will be looking to spend big at Catcher?
Anthony Franco
3:42
I think the Rays and Guardians are both better fits than you do. St. Louis, yeah. Arizona wants catching help, Twins could give it a look. Yankees, Giants, maybe the Cubs or Brewers
Marlins I guess
Dodgers fan
3:42
The giants are making big noises about judge and now Trea Turner and Anthony rizzo. Should I be nervous
Anthony Franco
3:43
In the sense that the Giants will add some good players this offseason? Yeah. In the sense that they'll do enough to be favored over the Dodgers heading into 2023? No
I think SF gets at least one top-tier free agent, but that's probably also true of L.A., who is also much better to begin with
Tyler anderson
3:43
Do I make sense for the Angels if the dodgers don’t resign me
Anthony Franco
3:44
Eh, we like him around 3/30. I think the Angels have bigger fish to fry with $10MM next year
3:45
Left field, middle infield, bullpen all seem like bigger areas of concern than adding another starter at that salary range
Kenley Jansen
3:45
Do I make sense for a reunion with dodgers
Anthony Franco
3:45
Sure, I'd be fine with Kenley going to any win-now team. He's trending downwards a little bit but should still be good for a year or two
Joe J.
3:45
What could the Yankees reasonably expect back in deals for Donaldson and Hicks?
Anthony Franco
3:46
Nothing of note, just some salary relief. Both those deals are underwater already
James
3:46
Could Nolan Arenado be a "cheaper" alternative for the Twins? If he does opt out, which feels likely, he seems like a solid fit if they lose Correa. They have spent big on an older 3rd basemen before - 185 mil 6 years get it done?
Anthony Franco
3:47
There's enough optimism out of St. Louis I think Arenado will stick around, although that becomes more interesting if they haven't agreed on anything by the time his opt-out date officially gets there
3:48
We haven't really kicked around contract terms yet operating under that assumption, but 6/185 is around where I'd end up, I think. It's doable for the Twins but would obviously be one of their biggest investments ever

Alex Anthopolous has made the offseason relatively boring for Braves fans. Aside from SS, what moves could the Braves make? I assume Ozuna won't be back and I'm not convince Rosario has much of a leash in 2023 either. Back end starter? 7th inning RP?
Bill
3:48
Atlantas #1 task is?
Anthony Franco
3:48
Ha yeah, the offseason storylines are basically whether they retain Dansby and Kenley. Pretty much everyone else is already locked up
3:49
I don't think there's going to be much from the outside. Could add another cheap bat to the corner outfield mix to fill the Grossman role. Also guessing they'll try to extend Fried this winter, although they always manage to keep those tight to the vest
3:50
Seems like there's never any indication they're actively talking extensions with any of their controllable players until they randomly announce they've signed another one every six weeks
Dave Roberts
3:50
Will I target a big named FA pitcher
Anthony Franco
3:50
Well it's not Roberts' call, but yeah, the Dodgers will be active in the free agent rotation market
3:51
Could bring back one of Heaney or Anderson and go get Bassitt or something. Think the biggest investment probably ends up on the position player side with Trea hitting free agency
Kingdome
3:51
Two farm system questions: 1) Will Nick Yorke (Bos) recover from his brutal year and go back to being a top prospect? 2) Will Greg Jones (TB) ever find himself in a major-league uniform?
Anthony Franco
3:52
I still like Yorke, yeah. Top prospect is maybe a bit much since the hit-over-power second basemen aren't beloved in today's game, but I do think he'll be a good player
3:53
I've never been on the Greg Jones train. Saw him a couple times in college (both at UNCW and on the Cape) and never thought the swing worked. I haven't kept up with since the draft but the strikeout totals in the minors are huge
Can he get to the majors as an up-and-down speed player off the bench? Sure. I don't think he'll ever stick long-term though, waiver wire type for me

Over/Under  -  Judge 8/300, Correa 10/350, Rodon 5/135
Anthony Franco
3:54
Judge: Over
Correa: Under
Rodón: You're pretty much on it. I'm very slight over but that's a good number to set it
Daro Lew jest groźny
3:54
Do you see Yoenis Cespedes receiving a minor league deal from Oakland to keep up with the nostalgia?
Anthony Franco
3:54
Ha this would be very cool. Guessing the ship has sailed though
Daro Lew jest groźny
3:54
Where do you think Craig Kimbrel will end up, and how much money can he get on a 1 year deal? I see Cubs as a good place, but Oakland also seems like a fit, if they are willing to keep their payroll above 30 mln.
Anthony Franco
3:55
I like him around 1/10. Think he'll find a clearer contender than Oakland unless he's truly dead set on closing
3:56
Cubs I can see. D-Backs too. Phillies could give him a shot, Twins. There are plenty of teams that can roll the dice like that
sockpirate
3:56
Do you think the Red Sox refuse to pay Bogaerts and/or Devers the market rate and lose them?  The fan base is losing faith in ownership.  It already hates Bloom.
Anthony Franco
3:57
I think they'll manage to get one of them done. Slight lean towards Devers on the likelihood, I guess
Tyler

Tyler Stephenson or Alexis Diaz available?
