Stephenson, no. Díaz, maybe in the sense that he's a reliever and they're volatile enough the Reds could listen, but it's like a 5-10% shot he goes

You've mentioned Jace Peterson a couple times already.  I also like him as an option for the White Sox, who need LHHs and someone to play 2B.  What kind of contract is he likely to get?
Anthony Franco
3:58
I have him at 2/14, Steve was at like 2/10

Thoughts on Nolan Jones and Tyler Freeman roles for Cleveland next year? Asking more for fantasy keeper purposes. I know you’re not the fantasy guy but……
Anthony Franco
3:59
I'd guess Freeman's likelier to play his way into an everyday role. Just more defensive flexibility to get a look with injuries and/or if they trade Amed Rosario
Doubt either is a regular out of the gate

I heard the rumor about Rockies being interested in Nimmo, which is not that shocking after what happened with Kris Bryant. Could they find a way to compete in 2023? It's worth pointing out Rodgers and others have quietly had good years.
Anthony Franco

There's so little depth on the roster I have had a hard time seeing them stick around even if they add Nimmo. Back of the rotation is terrible, I've never gotten why they keep playing Elias Díaz, you need Tovar to have a Jeremy Pena type rookie season
And it's maybe the best division in the game, can't see it
4:02
All that said, I think Nimmo's a perfectly fine fit there if Monfort's willing to push payroll to franchise heights. He's certainly an upgrade over Yonathan Daza and Randal Grichuk. They're too far gone to tear down and rebuild at this point, so sure, go get good players at positions of need
Tyler
4:02
Whats the market for Max Kepler? I kind of thought a Teoscar Hernandez swap makes sense for both clubs. Jays needing a lefty bat. Obviously a massive upgrade defensively as well.
Anthony Franco
4:03
Yeah that's interesting. I like that fit a lot actually
Not huge value with Kepler anymore but he's a solid everyday player. Average offense that could probably get a boost from the shift, good defensive right fielder. Two years at affordable but not bargain rates
4:04
It's one fairly expensive year of Tesocar, who can't really play right field but mashes. I'm in on this for both teams

do you see Mike Trout staying with the Angels this coming season
Anthony Franco
4:04
Yes
Hunter Refroe
4:04
Brewers, Cardinals, Dodgers, Rockies, where is my home in 2023?
Anthony Franco
4:05
Teams you mentioned all make sense. Atlanta could jump in there, Texas, guess San Diego could give him another look
Captain Dunsel
4:05
Would you agree that the most impactful free agent signing this season was Dave Dombrowski?
Anthony Franco
4:06
Phils hired Dombrowski two years ago
4:07
But as to the point of the question, not really. We were actually just talking about this as well -- you guys are on everything today -- but so much of this roster was built by the Klentak regime. Dombrowksi's group signed Schwarber, traded for Alvarado and that's kind of it. Castellanos isn't doing a whole lot, they re-signed Realmuto but he'd already been acquired by the previous front office. Familia, Herrera, Didi all busted
4:08
I'm not trying to drag Dombrowksi, to be clear. Every front office has its misses, and every World Series team has the fingerprints of a previous regime (unless the Yankees get there, I guess, since Cashman has been around forever)
4:09
But it's not like he overhauled a terrible roster. He inherited a potentially good one, made some good and some bad moves around the edges, and they got a bit better. Klentak didn't leave the MLB team in terrible shape. He actually made a bunch of strong personnel moves on the major league side but never hit on a draft pick, which was his real undoing

Will the winter meetings provide a lot of free agent and trade drama or will the off season once again be long and drawn out?
Anthony Franco
4:10
A bit of both but I think the days of everything happening in November are gone
Too much incentive for teams to wait players out in free agency. Pressure starts to mount for the players with no contract more so than it does for the team with a need, and salaries tend to come down by the end of the offseason

What do the Jays do with their OF? Gurriel + Hernandez are both FAs after next season, they have very little in the minors, and Springer will have to move to a corner eventually. There's been a lot of pitching talk but shouldn't they also be trading for a young OF?
Anthony Franco
4:11
Yeah I think they do make for a solid fit with Arizona as Anita suggested earlier, just not at the kind of price she floated
4:12
I'm sure they'll kick the tires on Reynolds. Could jump into free agency for a Benintendi type if they deal one of Teoscar or Lourdes. I'm a fan of the Teoscar/Kepler proposal as mentioned
Wayne
4:12
What kind of return would you need to give the DBacks for Ketel Marte?
Anthony Franco
4:12
Arizona just extended him last spring and they're earnestly trying to compete this year. They'd have to be absolutely blown away
Fish Catch
4:13
What would it take for Gabriel Moreno?  Pablo Lopez and (fill in the blank)
Anthony Franco
4:14
Rarely see prospects like that moved unless it's a Soto or Trea Turner level talent. I don't see it happening
4:15
Could you line up like Pablo López and Trevor Rogers for Moreno or something? Jays would have to think about that probably, but then what's the point on Miami'
What's the point on Miami's end? You're dealing such a huge hit to your MLB roster
Thigmus
4:15
Would Gleyber plus another piece, say Kiner-Falefa, be able to get the Yanks the starter they need, or should they just go free agency for someone like Thor, Quintana, Kissing Senga, etc.?
Will
4:15
In the Peraza / Volpe / Cabrera mix in the Yankees infield, how do you see it shaking out by ASG 2023?
Anthony Franco
4:16
Expect all three of those guys to have gotten an MLB look by then. Which ones are playing just kind of depends on performance
4:17
Does Gleyber plus IKF get some kind of rotation help? Yeah, but it's not going to pull a López, Skubal, Gallen type
Pedro's peso

What is the Red Sox actual plan? Are they a big spender or a penny-pincher who will focus on the farm?
