Still love Lowe, yeah

Clay Holmes is having a stupid good year and earned his role as a closer. Do the Yankees 1. Extend him and make him their closer long term and/or 2. Try to trade Chapman before the deadline?
Anthony Franco
4:20
Probably both, although at $16MM I doubt there's enough appeal they'll find an offer that compels them to move Chapman
4:21
Even if they don't flip him this summer, they'll let him walk. And if there's a must-win situation in the playoffs and Holmes is pitching anywhere near this well two months from now, he's the go-to guy without question

What can the Guardians reasonably get for their depth of middle infielders?  Peralta?
Anthony Franco
4:21
Freddy Peralta? Milwaukee isn't moving him
4:22
Obviously what they get depends on whom they move. Doubt Amed Rosario brings back much of anything. Giménez would be in super high demand but I can't see them trading him
Eddie
4:24
I have Kelenic in a keeper league. He has been tearing the cover off the ball these last few weeks.  Still not so high on him?
Anthony Franco
4:24
Still like him long-term, just don't see the path to immediate playing time that'd make it worthwhile to hold in a strict redraft
Brusdar graderal
4:25
Any word on me
Anthony Franco
4:25
Not yet

4:25
What are we going to do at the trade deadline
Anthony Franco
4:26
Pitching help is going to be the big thing. Friedman kind of downplayed the possibility of making another huge acquisition but I don't really buy it. Would still guess they land one of the big three starters who'll be dealt
4:27
They're going to need a reliever too with the Treinen and Hudson injuries, particularly if Brusdar's also hurt. Lou Trivino, Joe Jiménez type probably

4:28
Can you explain the 4-out rule again?
Anthony Franco
4:28
Ha, this is in reference to that Nats/Pirates play? I have no idea
I've read explanations for it a few times and cannot wrap my head around why it exists. Props to Derek Shelton for being all over it though
Brad

Are you a big jomboy fan? n
Anthony Franco
4:30
I thought that one video he did where the breakdown on Aaron Boone's outburst that time was hilarious
4:31
Otherwise, I haven't really watched his stuff

What is Snell’s out look going forward. Good K numbers last time out but everything else seems meh.
Anthony Franco
4:31
Ha I think that basically just describes Snell generally
4:32
He throws hard, strikes guys out. Generally effective for 4-5 innings but he walks the world and never works deep into games. He's a valuable pitcher but hope the Cy Young season was the start of him becoming a true ace didn't pan out

Thumb up or down... what's your take on the Oakland's teardown thus far?
Anthony Franco
4:33
Didn't love that ownership squeezed the payroll when there was already a contending core in place. Thought the front office did a fine job with the crappy cards it had to play
4:35
As for the results, I'm underwhelmed thus far. Expected Pache to struggle but not to this extent. I was bullish on Kevin Smith and thought he and Hoglund would make the Chapman deal turn out well for them. He's instead been awful in both the majors and Triple-A
Manfred
4:35
Why would I put miggy in the all star game this year instead of next year which seems more likely to be his last year?
Anthony Franco
4:36
Yeah it was a little odd. Guessing they just wanted to start the first year of it with a bang and picked the two most obvious candidates for it?
Will
4:36
What do you think is the probability that the Tigers might try to trade away Robbie Grossman and bring Akil Baddoo back up to the majors?
Anthony Franco
4:37
High. Even if they can't find a taker for Grossman at the deadline they'll probably just cut bait at that point. Baddoo's done everything they could ask to earn his way back, and Grossman's obviously not a part of the long-term core

I have a choice of three players: Harold Castro, Abraham Toro, or Dylan Moore. Castro is all BA; Toro, power; Moore, SB. Assuming I need help in all three categories, who am I better off with?
Anthony Franco
4:38
I think Toro's the best bet of average and power
4:39
Which is weird to say about a guy hitting .182 obviously but I see no compelling reason why he should be hitting that poorly
MikeD

More of a fantasy question. I play in a deep AL-only Roto league. I’ve been hit hard by injuries, so I’ve been patching my roster with mediocre players. Eloy just returned, Haniger soon too, so who and in what order do I cut from Josh Lowe, Josh Smith, and Aaron Hicks? In what order would you rank them when factoring in SB potential?
Anthony Franco
4:40
I think I'd cut Hicks and Lowe before Smith but standard caveat that's a question Brad's a lot more equipped to answer than I am
Billy Beane
4:41
Except getting Pache who obviously can't hit a lick
Anthony Franco
4:42
I still see a path to Michael Taylor soft regular territory there, although it'll mean giving him a ton of playing time next year because he's going to be out of options
Artie moreno
4:42
This is becoming a broken record. Why can’t we do something bold. Every year we sign and sell. No one is signed who is a difference maker. We are going to lose otanhi
Anthony Franco
4:42
Believe you asked a similar question a couple weeks ago and I mostly disagree with the premise that they don't do bold stuff
