We’re the Steelers disappointed with Matt Thomas signing with Baltimore? Wasn’t sure if he was someone they were hoping would stick around. Seems to me he would’ve had a better opportunity here.
Gerry Dulac

There are a lot of Matthew Thomas players in every draft.

Too soon for an early Masters favorite?

Nope....DeChambeau

Should Grimble been cut the day after his bonehead play to send a message?
Gerry Dulac
11:33
It wouldn't have surprised me. Another team might have.

would you rather attend the masters every year or the super bowl?
Gerry Dulac
11:33
No brainer.

Some interesting articles by national media and some of your colleagues about Tomlin in the last few days. Given the state of the team and sub par performance, do you still think it’s a good idea to extend him this off season?
Gerry Dulac
11:33
I wouldn't

did u watch senior bowl. renfro from Clemson and Iglesias from umass look like the type of slot receivers the pats can use their future. Why not the steelers?
Gerry Dulac
11:34
I kept my streak intact -- I have never watched the Senior Bowl. Nor will I

Thanks Gerry for the chats.  I get the drama on this team is not caused by Ben, but when do we start questioning his leadership?  No one, especially local media, dares to do it.  Yeah he says all the right crap at a press conference but I see him off by himself during most games, calling out players on his radio show, rarely winning his own teams MVP.  Maybe he's not a good leader?  again, I get its not his fault, I just wish people would stop calling him a leader because he's not.

One thing the players know -- he wins games for them, more than any current QB other than Tom Brady. He takes them to Super Bowls, more than any active QB other than Brady. That's what they follow.

Gerry,  Since Butler is taking over OLB coaching and was not fired it is obvious Tomlin is handling the D and has been.  How can you fire someone following your directives. What is your take?  Thank you.

Bingo. Pay the man

Gerry, In your time covering the Steelers, have you ever seen a player continue the mocking of the Steelers, if you will, behavior that AB continues to do? (Not to mention leans on mentors of Ocho and TO?!)... Tic Toc = March 13
Gerry Dulac
11:38
I have never, in all my years covering the Steelers, seen a player commit such an egregious insubordinate act leading up to the Bengals game and behave so moronically since the Bengals game as Antonio Brown. Trust me when I tell you, if they bring him back it will be the internal destruction of the team and the head coach.

Do you feel the steelers are a cornerback and linebacker or two from being really good? Why not go after it this offseason in fa
Gerry Dulac
11:38
Yes I do.

Can we finally replace Steven Ridley?  I can't take any more game changing fumbles and 2 yard gains.
Gerry Dulac
11:39
I think that's a good possibility. I see you noticed he leads the league in 2 yard gains. Haha

Everyone is hammering Butler.  I think he did fine.  Esp at the end of the season.  Held NE to one TD.  Could have held NO to 2 if not for a couple really bad calls.  Give him a little more talent who knows.  Were you surprised they kept Butler?
Gerry Dulac
11:40
Not at all. The defense was better this year. They just need another to play w Joe Haden and an inside LB who can run.

How did B. Allen's development progress this season?  Do they see him as being able to help the secondary cause any more next season?
Gerry Dulac
11:41
I think they were hoping to see more of that this past season and didn't. So I'm not going to predict that or forsee that for 2019

Why wasn't the Saints coach fined for comments about the refs?
Gerry Dulac
11:41
They probably felt sorry for him

Gary,  with Boswells kicking woes this year, why do you think Tomlin didnt go for 2 more often, like he did previous years when Boswell actually was an accurate kicker?
Gerry Dulac
11:42
I don't think one had to do with the other. But he did back off going for two the past two seasons, which I think was the right thing to do.

how did Colbert/rooney allow all this freedom of AB??? especially the air bnb in Latrobe!
Gerry Dulac
11:43
It starts with Tomlin, and he will be the one who should and possibly will pay for it. And maybe AB wasn't the only player who had a training-camp house.

Do you think Mike McCarthy passed on the Jets job (and potentially other opportunities) because he's secretly hoping that Tomlin's days are numbered and he can succeed him as HC of the Steelers?
Gerry Dulac
11:43
No

Hi Gerry, how patient has Mason Rudolph been seeing all the young QB's getting a shot to play, and Ben wanting to play 2+ more years? Cheers
Gerry Dulac
11:44
It's frustrating for him. I even talked to him about that during the season.

I like MT and I get tired of the haters, especially when you compare this franchise to every other one besides NE.  But there's a pretty clear distinction between how NE builds their roster and deals egos and how the Steelers do those things.  Can MT, after 12 yrs on the job, really "learn" from his mistakes (which I think would require him to completely re-evaluate how he deals with players) as The Bus suggested to Ron Cook?
Gerry Dulac
11:44
It might be too late for that.

How about Dangerfield,Fortt!
Gerry Dulac

I'd keep Fort.
