Any insight from the Fields camp on their thoughts on resigning?
Gerry Dulac
10:31
I have none, sorry

Probably a question that’s been asked and answered, but if it were your team, would you go with Wilson or Fields?
Gerry Dulac
10:31
Ahhh, but it's not.

Hi Gerry, If winning the Super Bowl is a home run, are the Steelers content with Mike Tomlin just running out infield singles?
Gerry Dulac
10:32
That's a good comparison. The Pete Rose of coaches you mean??

10:32
What is the 2025 going draft capital rate for the talented but troubled George Pickens?
Gerry Dulac
10:32
A second and a 4th?

10:32
Do the Steelers even entertain bringing Harris back on a hometown discount? I think not but who knows
Gerry Dulac
10:33
I will tell you there is no hometown discount. But I think the chances are better he returns than not. Read later today and you'll find out

If you asked coach Tomlin “what are we doing differently next year?” What do you think his shorter version answer would be?
Gerry Dulac
10:34
Drinking wine rather than stomping grapes??

Would you trade TJ Watt at this stage of his career, knowing that the Steelers are so far away from being a Super Bowl contender? It might jumpstart a rebuild.
Gerry Dulac
10:34
No

Hi Gerry - Kahn/Wedle's approach is to start by winning in the trenches. Hasn't happened so far. They put so much draft capital into the OL the last two years. If the team is going to be (genuinely) competitive in the next few years, the OL has to become a strength. Is their current coach the guy to get the most out of this unit? Wouldn't you go out and find someone who coached a top performing unit in the NFL?
Gerry Dulac
10:34
Let's not forget they lost three starters to season-ending injuries, including their No. 1 pick.

Gerry, has Mike Tomlin always been this much of a control freak or have things gotten worse over the past few years?
Gerry Dulac
10:35
Well, I think it happened after he lost some of Bill Cowher's coaches that he retained.

Any chance the Steelers resigned Dan Moore or is he gone as a free agent because he’s too expensive?
Gerry Dulac
10:36
Gone

Hi Gerry. So, has the light bulb gone on in Tomlin’s head yet that he indeed does NOT have some unique skill for turning immature, troublesome, malcontent receivers into selfless, disciplined, productive “volunteers”. What’s it going to take to break this pattern of drafting these types?  His track record, if anything, shows he’s more of an enabler.
Gerry Dulac
10:38
You mean Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant, JuJu, Claypool, Pickens (and I'll throw Le'Veon Bell in there, too) weren't selfless?? C'mon.

Of all the articles I've read that have dissected the Steelers season, none has made as much of an impact on me as the one about Russell Wilson supposedly being handcuffed by the coaching staff after putting up a historically great offensive game.  Seems to me that if it's true, Arthur Smith (if not MT himself) should be immediately fired for coaching malpractice.   If it's not true, then it can only be propaganda from the Wilson camp, and must mean that RW is highly toxic and we should run away from him as fast as we can.   Is there a middle ground, because I can't see it?
Gerry Dulac
10:40
One thing I learned from Boy Scouts Rob, the campfire is always built in the middle ground of the tents

Thanks for the chat Gerry…that article you wrote about Wilson and Smith was a real eye opener. We were sitting at 10-3 and playing well in all three phases. There was a lot of hope at that time. One of the main reasons was QB play. It is really disheartening to find out that the coaches were basically the reason for the losing streak. At this point do you think it even matters who the QB?  We could have Montana in his prime and with this coaching staff and philosophy still score 17 a game.
Gerry Dulac
10:43
Hey, none of this is to absolve Russell Wilson of any blame for what happened in the last 5 games. He's the QB after all. But, to your point, the Steelers "philosophy" has remained the same, no matter the coordinator.

Hi Gerry-   I think Andy Reid is best coach in NFL.  Great at scheming game plans. He plays chess while on a good day MT is playing checkers.  I think talent gap in Reid vs MT is as much of an issue as the talent gap between Mahomes vs Russ/Fields. Am I wrong?
Gerry Dulac
10:43
Not at all. Of course, he is able to execute that scheme to perfection because of Mahomes. But his schemes are the best in the NFL.

10:44
Hey Gerry. What do you think of the Steelers trying to get Sam Darnold or JJ McCarthy?  I think these two are the only possible upgrades available in 2025. It’s not going to be the draft.
Gerry Dulac
10:44
I don't think they will do that, nor should they.
Jake
10:44
What was the better RB duo Frank Pollard and Walter Abercrombie or N. Harris and J.Warren?
Gerry Dulac
10:44
I'll go modern-day duo

10:44
Are the Bears better off with Ben Johnson instead of Mike Tomlin as their new head coach?
Gerry Dulac
10:45
Ask the Bears. But Mike Tomlin going to the Bears was NEVER a possibility. You talk about a bunch of nonsense?? That was it
Bill in LA
10:45
Well, well, well! The Steelers flame out with in the usual manner with Russell Wilson at quarterback, while the Eagles are in the Super Bowl. I say that Kenny Pickett has had the last laugh, he has been vindicated for asking for a trade. Agree a little?
Gerry Dulac
10:46
I always agree with you Bill in LA, don't I??

I watched many of Justin Fields’ games with Chicago in 2023. The Justin Fields experience went like this: takes alot of sacks, makes spectacular runs for touchdowns, gets dinged up, and loses about every game. What makes the Steelers think he can change?
Gerry Dulac
10:46
Haha. Well, I think the 4-2 record, 10 touchdowns, 1 interception is a good start to changing what happened in Chicago

10:47
Will the steelers finally gonand getbavtrue run stuffing nose tackle and realize they have tonwin in the trenches on both sides of the ball?
Gerry Dulac
10:47
They don't need a nose tackle -- they have that with Keanu Benton, if they choose. They need the next Cam Heyward. NTs play about 1/3 of the snaps, if that
