Prediction for how the 2019 season goes?
Gerry Dulac
11:04
I predicting a 17-week season with one team winning each division and a postseason to follow.
11:05
Oh....that's not what you wanted to know??? I still think the Steelers will be the division favorite, though everybody who wants to be  fashionable will pick the Browns. I'd hold off on that for now.
Cburg Stiller
11:05
Any guesses on free agent CBS or ILBs they may have their eyes on?
Gerry Dulac
11:06
Not yet. I can throw out names but that doesn't mean the Steelers are interested in them. I will wait till i have an idea of who they like or might pursue.

11:06
Does .shazier come back on the league minimum deal and continue to workout yet not play?
Gerry Dulac
11:06
I'm not sure what they will do with him in that regard. TBD
Henry
11:06
What happens if an arbitrator decides on what the transition tag amount is on Bell?
Gerry Dulac
11:08
Really nothing. No matter the amount, the Steelers have no interest in having his nonsense around for another season. Would you? And why would they? They have a Pro Bowl RB in James Conner. Who signs a replacement for a young Pro Bowl RB??
Epiballo
11:08
ESPN writer predicted Bell to the Texans who go to the Super Bowl, Brown to the 49ers where he leads the league in receptions, and the Cleveland Browns winning the AFC North because of their third place schedule. Do you buy in to any of these?
Gerry Dulac
11:09
We'll see
Jared
11:09
If the Steelers miss the playoffs again in 2019 and Tomlin is shown the door, who would be the front runners to replace him? I would have to think Mike McCarthy is the early favorite.
Gerry Dulac
11:10
Nothing against Mike McCarthy, who I really like, but that has not been the Steelers history to hire a former head coach as head coach. S, to your point, no.
Ralph LA
11:10
In hindsight we’re the early season problems successfully getting the ball to Antonio Brown part of the soap opera with him?
Gerry Dulac
11:11
Any type of perceived slight -- the light not turning green for AB at the Hot Metal Bridge, his breakfast not being hot -- could have contributed to his issues.
Mill st
11:11
Now that the team has missed the playoffs what are the odds that they get on Hard Knocks?   The drama is already there and could potentially help rebuild the Steeler's image?
Gerry Dulac
11:12
And could turn everything into more of a circus. No way Steelers would agree to it
Jerry Dulak
11:12
If the Steelers under perform next year, especially on defense.  Is Tomlin gone or will they give him another year and fire Butler?
Gerry Dulac
11:13
I think next year will be a show-me year for him.
Jerry Dulak
11:13
Who is most likely to be the #3 WR if AB is gone.  Switzer or Eli?
Gerry Dulac
11:13
Neither. It will be the player they draft on the first or second round.
Dana
11:14
I wonder if the latest AB headline wasnt planned so as to devalue himself  in a trade. Maybe one last poke in the eye before leaving.  Thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:14
Why would he do that?
Rahn
11:14
I asked Ed this, too: What does a run-game coordinator or pass-game coordinator or quality control coach do?
Gerry Dulac
11:15
They coordinate the run game or the pass game. The quality control guy is responsible for cutting up video, breaking it down for the coaches to view.
Jerry Dulak
11:15
After seeing what New England did in the playoffs and the games leading into the playoffs with a power running game.  Is Tomlin going to incorporate more power running seeing how James Conner can handle it and he gets to run behind a dominant line?
Gerry Dulac
11:16
I wouldn't exactly call NE a power running team. Most of their stuff is off tackle w backs smaller than the Steelers. But, to your question....no
Rahn
11:16
1. The website people have to do a better job of putting this chat somewhere that's easy to find. 2. I don't see any good reason to keep Bud Dupree even on a reduced salary. I know the argument is the dearth of OLBs, but is that a good reason to keep such a disappointment around?
Gerry Dulac
11:17
I'm not going to argue about Dupree.
Rahn
11:17
Just a follow-up: To 'coordinate the run or pass game'... isn't that the OC's job?
Gerry Dulac
11:19
OK, the run game coordinator, who was Munchak, is more responsible for coming up with the running plays to possibly use in a game plan. But it is Fichtner, with some input from all position coaches, who develops the game plan and gets approval from Tomlin.
Ralph LA
11:19
Did Switzer meet expectations?
Gerry Dulac
11:19
He is what he is.
B&G
11:19
The Cruiseline statement read: "He was one of the best captains in the business, but he fell asleep at the wheel and the ship ran aground. We had no choice but to let him go". Do you really think Tomlin can right the ship?
Gerry Dulac
11:20
Ha. We shall see.
Dana
11:20
He's gonna get paid the same if he stays or goes. It wouldn't really affect him at all. One last poke wouldnt surprise me with this clownclown.
Gerry Dulac
11:20
Yep
Rob
11:20
Gerry, do you agree with Ed that Tomlin will not receive an extension this offseason?
Gerry Dulac
11:21
I believe that will be the case. I think this should be a show-me year for him.
Jerry Dulak
11:21
Thanks for the third best Steelers chat.  What percent chance do you give the Browns to finish first the the AFC North?
