That wasn't the case at all. If it were, he would have already signed with another team. I'm sure he's not happy about the Steelers signing Wilson

We all know what happened with Mason here.  He was at best deceived, and at worst blatantly lied to.  Now the same is happening with Kenny.  It happened in the past with Silverback, Ingram, Blount.  Is there a point where the players no longer accept this as "just part of the NFL" and it leads to mistrust in the organization?

Good Morning Gerry..  Full plate today eh??  I love all the moves thus far.. Hoping KP wins out in camp.. is all the activity an attempt to make up for the Canada debacle?  They wasted several years of TJ and company with that mistake.. at least they seem to realize it.. Cheers

GM in Tenn....yes, I like the moves too. But none have been made to make up for Canada. They were done with one idea in mind: They need to do something more drastic and impactful to end their playoff drought. It's getting embarrassing.

Hi Gerry. I just read Hunter Renfrow is being released by the Raiders. I liked him in college. At this stage in his career can he come in and be a good number 3? Would Tyler Boyd be a better signing?

Hi Gerry. The Steelers traded Dionte to last year's worst team in the NFL for a player who can be good if he can stay on the field. He is also a player that was reportedly about to be released. He is also not cheap. Can you shed some light on this move? Do you have any information on his contract?

He was going to be released because of his cap number. And the Steelers are going to re-do his deal so he doesn't count $10.5 million against the cap in 2024. Probably sign him to a new two-year deal

Hi Gerry, do you imagine that giving up on that fumble play is the #1 reason Diontae was traded?  I know he wasn't exactly living up to his contract, but trading him leaves them in dire need of another WR in a weak Free Agent year at the position.  I can only guess that was a cardinal sin that ultimately couldn't be forgiven.

That was part of it. And the incidents with his teammates -- Mitch Trubisky at halftime in Week 4 in 2022; the post-game dustup with Minkah Fitzpatrick after the loss to the Browns. Steelers had enough. They were moving on from one way or another.

Hi Gerry, most people believe that there is no a real competition between RW and KP for QB1. What would have been a real QB competition? KP vs a 1st round pick? KP vs Mason? KP vs Fields? In which escenario KP would have had a real chance for competing for QB1? And BTW in which round of the draft do you believe Steelers will add QB3?

Pickett is still viewed as the No. 1 QB, at least right now. But we also know that what is said is not always what happens. Just ask Mason Rudolph. He will get a chance to compete/retain the No. 1 spot. Then again, maybe it will be the same type of competition that Rudolph saw in 2022.

Hey Gerry, Zeise made the point that we're basically (aside from TEs and RBs) down to Pickens and Austin at WR.  Do you think that changes our priorities in the the first round?

Hi Gerry, Looks like the Panthers were going to cut Donte Jackson. Why did we trade Diontae for him? We should’ve gotten at least a 3rd or 4th rounder or a better player in return. Please make it make sense. We are going to miss him more than most fans realize.

Let's be real, Pickett doesn't have a chance to compete with Russ this upcoming season. They're not even close in abilities. Artie Smith game plan is obvious, but they still need weapons on the outside. Drafting high seems likely, Boyd seems obvious, but is another splash coming at WR? Also, any opinion on teaming up old college teammates in Queen and Devin White? Minkah and Simmons would be the best S combo in NFL, let's make it happen.
