I guess I’m in the minority Gerry, but my biggest disappointment in the free agency period is not the QB situation but that the Steelers didn’t acquire a quality D lineman. They need two of them not just one and they have to get them in the draft now without a second round pick. Whoever they got or will get at QB wasn’t going to move the needle much, build up rest of the team where more talent existed to choose from. What are your thoughts?

Hi Gerry, given the free agent signings and Metcalf trade, do you still expect DT to be addressed in RD 1 of the draft or will it be another position?

They needed one in free agency AND a top one in the draft. Now that they didn't get on in FA, it only increases the importance in not just Rd 1, but maybe on day 2 as well

Hello Gerry, good morning. Hey, let's sign Mason Rudolph and surround him with good weapons. Maybe another reliable veteran WR and RB, re-sing K Allen and draft a QB in the 5th round. What is the worst that could happen? A 9-8 season and a wild card game lost? Anyway, with this roster I really trust Mason and the Steelers to make a run.

This should be a fun chat because we all look to you for clarity. Are you to the point where the Steelers need to make an untypical move by trading Pickens Watt or Minkah to move up in the draft for serious impact player.?

I know it’s not custom to front offices admitting mistakes but this whole quarterback situation has not gone the way they envisioned and has stunted the opportunity to sign some players they wanted ..right ?

I don't know that it stunted signing other players because I like getting Slay and Gainwell and I like the trade for Metcalf because it shows how serious they are to improve their WR group.

Here’s my idea - Trade Watt for picks, and use what you get to move into position for the quarterback you want (hopefully not Sanders). Feel free to deal Pickens for picks as well. Strengthen the DL, get a high quality receiver to pair with Metcalf in the draft. The Steelers would be stronger in years to come and maybe even next year if you have a good draft.

Chuck Noll once said if you are talking about retiring, you already have. Rodgers has brought this up in the recent past, so why in the world have interest in paying this guy to go along with the rest of his history?

The letdown was not getting a DL. Otherwise, WR, CB and RB have been addressed for now. And an early decision on either Fields or Wilson could have resulted in getting a strong No. 2 in Daniel Jones. That's all out the window now

Is it the correct take that the Steelers will not likely want to keep Pickens given Metcalf is now on board, with a similar skill set (or role within an offense anyway), having to pay them both, and to manage them both given their penchant for volatility? Thanks, Ger

Good morning Mr. Dulac.  I hope your day is great. This qb issue seems to be deju vu all over again and at the most important position.  Will we ever learn?  Why are we waiting. If Rodgers so badly wanted to play for the Steelers he would have signed.   And how big of a difference is there between Rodgers and Wilson in the end result of this year's season?  Sure Wilson lost the last 6 games, but didn't have Metcalf when Pickens went down.  I would rather same some dough signing Wilson and spend the extra cash on a big man to center the defensive line. Why are we playing this waiting game again?
