I see him being used however and wherever they want him. They want him on the field.

Hey Gerry! Do you think PQ will be on the team this year? If not who will fill in for him?
Gerry Dulac
10:20
Yes I do

10:20
Hi Gerry,  How long will Mike McCarthy be the Steelers head coach?  Over 5 years but less than 10?
Gerry Dulac
10:21
That's probably a good range. Safe to say it won't be another 19-year tenure
Jenny Block
10:21
Hi Gerry, big fan from Hawaii! Just curious how you’d describe the Steelers current “plan.” It seems like Rodgers, signing big money WRs into their age 32 season, a CB through their age 33 season, and giving Watt money through his age 34 season signals they’re trying to win now. But the roster is nowhere near good enough to win in the playoffs and won’t be until they find a QB.
Gerry Dulac
10:23
Well, Jenny, I think you did a good job laying out their plan. They believe they have the team to win now, minus a couple pieces.

How will McCarthy's offense look different with Aaron Rodgers than last year with Aaron Rodgers. He threw a ton of quick short passes wothalo.????
Gerry Dulac
10:30
The overall philosophy in how the offense will operate will change. Maybe McCarthy will be more aggressive and trying to strike quicker than Tomlin, who wanted to play cautious.

As I remember it was put to a vote the last time the Steelers wanted to use taxpayer dollars to build a stadium and it was voted down but the city gave them the money anyway.  Was the whole voting thing just a sham? Will the same thing happen again?  Even with no playoff wins in the past 10 years?
Gerry Dulac
10:33
Yes, the initial plan, called Plan A, was voted down in 1998 I believe. That's when Plan B was developed, and that's when they city/taxpayers funded 75 percent of the costs of Heinz Field and PNC Park funded the rest. I don't think playoff wins have anything to do with funding a new stadium.

Gerry, of all thr development QBs , I personally like Nussmeier, pedigree, a mix of all athletic traits, who do you, prefer?
Gerry Dulac
10:33
Too small for the Steelers.

10:34
Hi Gerry, What will be the big difference in Steelers game day play when the season starts given all the changes?
Gerry Dulac
10:34
I won't know that answer till I see them on the field in training camp. Hard to guess. It's too early.
DC
10:34
Assuming Aaron comes back, how will this offense look any different than last season? Rodgers seems to be only able and willing to get rid of the ball quickly with short passes and obviously a year older won't make him more mobile. That loss to Houston in the playoffs was pathetic and he looked.helpless. what is the point of doing this again?
Gerry Dulac
10:35
Well, it's going to be different with a new head coach who is calling the plays and a new OC who is developing the game plan. But how different? Gonna have to wait for that answer.

Do you know if we have presented Rogers with a contract and we are waiting on his response?  Or is the process that they get a verbal agreement and then put it on paper?  I am just wondering who is waiting on whom.
Gerry Dulac
10:36
The Steelers are waiting for him. If he agreed to a contract that paid him less than $20 million last year, I don't think it's going to be a whole lot different this year
Mike
10:36
Will the secondary be Porter, Dean, Elliot, Brisker with Ramsey roaming between corner and safety?  I think Ramsey is an asset but huge price tag if he's not on the field at all times.
Gerry Dulac
10:37
Brisker will be a backup and sub-package guy. Ramsey will be on the field. If not, they would have cut him or traded him. That's not happening

So the Steelers approach is smash mouth football where they impose their will on others.  How can management continue to let Aaron Rodgers smash them in the mouth by calling the shots?  It’s time for ownership to start being leaders instead of managers.  When the Pirates ownership is acting more decisive than the Steelers, something is drastically wrong.
Gerry Dulac
10:38
Where did you come up with that idea? Check with me in September how that Pirates leadership thing is working.

Good morning Gerry.   I have spent the week, hearing names from talking heads suggesting Howard is out but Simpson, Beck, Cousins, Murray, Allar and Joe from Section 105, Row 12, Seat 3 will be the Steelers starting QB.   Please tell me they are wrong, and in your informed opinion are we still planning on Rodgers, Howard or Mason being under Center next year.    If not I am rooting for Joe to win the compl
Gerry Dulac
10:40
What I will tell you IUPDave is, stop listening to people who have no idea what they're talking about. And, if you're going to listen, just don't swallow what they're spewing. It's hazardous to your health.

Will the steelers sign another wr in free agency or they done signing players till the draft
Gerry Dulac
10:43
They're done. But they will draft one...and high. Don't forget, they're down to Metcalf, Pittman, Roman Wilson and Skowronek, plus a bunch of wanna-bes. They were going to add a WR in free agency (OK, it was a trade) and they're going to draft one.
IUPDave
10:43
Good Morning Gerry. Still seems like we have some decent cap space let's.  Any bigger free agent names on the horizon?
Gerry Dulac
10:43
They are done signing significant free agents. No more

Gerry. I’m a little concerned that this organization is morphing into one of those teams that sign older players just HOPING or even believing that they can reclaim some previous glory. Ramsey, Slay, Smith, Patrick Peterson…I was hoping this trend was just a panic move by Coach T and the team to get back to winning a playoff game. With this years signings, each of which I sort of like, they’re still trending towards late 20’s to early 30’s. Is this maybe more of a Rooney or Omar thing rather that just Coach T?
Gerry Dulac
10:45
I'm glad you noticed the players they are signing are, for the most part, all about 27-28. And maybe they are getting away from signing those 'pedigree" players Tomlin liked -- guys who looked good on paper in the draft but never played to their hype.

Good morning Gerry. As May draws near, any idea how we can find out information about the PG's status?  I don't know what to do Wednesday mornings if we aren't chatting with the sports writers.
Gerry Dulac
10:46
It's kind of like the Aaron Rodgers -- we're kind of waiting to see how it all plays out
Biff
10:47
Do you maintain certain unpopular positions ( Steelers are not mediocre) in order to get first question during press conferences?
Gerry Dulac
10:48
Ha. Well, it's not by design. There is no pecking order. I try to get a question in first before Ray Fittipaldo starts shouting me down.

10:48
Is there something I am missing on Will Howard.  Most everything I read about our next qb, he is not mentioned.  With so many first round qb busts every year, I don't get it.
Gerry Dulac
10:48
You are not reading in the right places. That's all the Steelers talk about publicly
Bob
10:49
Saw the question about Devin Bush. I think it was our system and how we use ILB's. It seems like whomever we put there never played up to expectations (i.e. Queen, etc) with the exception of Shazier. What do you think? Never had this problem when LeBeau was our DC.
Gerry Dulac
10:49
Bush had a horrible knee injury that derailed his career. There's a reason Shazier worked --he was uber-talented. The other guy they tried were not Shazier.

With contradictory reports, what is Jalen Ramsey's salary cap number for 2026?
