Milone ncaa numbers certainly don’t look to translate to the NFL level. Please tell me a success story with similar numbers? What are we doing here? Why bring him in for a top 30 visit?
Gerry Dulac
11:23
They bring in a lot of people.

Are Gainwell and Warren not somewhat similar type players? Both with some fumble history, especially Gainwell. Besides adding a big back and no second round pick, a major need for DL. What is the plan in Pittsburgh? Is there one??
Gerry Dulac
11:24
There is, and you're touching on it

Good morning Gerry.  The Steelers presently have $60,000,000 in salary cap money.  Once they find a qb and extend TJ, do you think they will roll over the excess into next year’s cap?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
There are always injuries and late-summer signings made to improvement the team. And draft choices
Grahambo
11:26
I know Rodgers is a more glamorous choice, but is our record much better next year with him at the helm versus Rudolph? I would go with the latter and build the rest of the roster. We need to find our long term QB thru the draft over next couple of years. Do you agree?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
I do

Gerry, 22 years ago, John Henry’s personal kindness and magnanimity switched me from being a Cincinnati Reds fan to a diehard Boston Red Sox fan. Does anyone at the PG have connections to hook me up with Clark Hunt (Lamar’s boy), so maybe he can in like fashion buy me out of Steelers fanhood purgatory? This Rodgers business has me ready to bolt for better prospects!
Gerry Dulac
11:27
It sounds as though your fan affliction is bad to the bone

Both ARs need to retire!!!

11:31
OK, Anthony Richardson and who else....??

Isn’t it funny (strange) how during free agent time each year, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure? The Steelers and their fans were glad to see guys like Larry O and Dan Moore go, but anxiously anticipate great things from castoffs like Slay, Thornhill, and Gainwell?
Gerry Dulac
11:33
As Joe Pesci said in "Goodfellas," "I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?"

Hello Gerry! Is there any reason to keep 2 thoroughbred WRs when you play conservative run game that occasionally calls for WRs to block?
Gerry Dulac
11:33
Maybe you change you change your conservative run games

11:34
Gerry, I am glad you were able to sleep in this morning.  The Steelers have a non-losing season roster even with Rudolph as possible QB1.  Is there any draft scenario where the Steelers win a playoff game in 2025?
Gerry Dulac
11:34
What do you think?

Watt wants an extension and the Steelers want to extend him. They have a bunch of cap space right now and the free agent market at this point is blah. Would you give Watt a new contract that would pay him 50 million this year since we have the cap space and then the next 3 years only pay him 25-30 million a year allowing us more space for next year free agent crop?
Gerry Dulac
11:34
I don't see them moving on from Watt, not at all. So.....
Mr Ed
11:34
With the way he has started the season, do you think Rory Mcilroy may put together a Scottie Scheffler run or at least finally capture another major this year?
Gerry Dulac
11:35
I'd just like to see him win the Masters
Brian
11:35
Gerry, to the best of your knowledge, who is spearheading this foolish chase of ARod?  Mike/Smith/ARII?  For a once proud franchise, groveling for this prima donna to play for us is shameful.
Gerry Dulac
11:35
Mike Tomlin is the one who wants him and apparently nobody above him is strongly disagreeing

Mario Lemieux once said you do not trade your best player and I agree. Watt is a pros pro - Why on earth or some saying to trade him for draft picks? Most of which have failed in recent years. What makes them think things would be different?
Gerry Dulac
11:36
Bingo
Jack
11:36
TJ is starting to breakdown just like his brother JJ.  Isn’t it better to trade him for draft picks then to sign him to a big extension and regret it?
Gerry Dulac
11:36
I don't think they want to take that chance

Gerry, the issue with being consistently strong for decades and playoff contenders and then being a winning team in general, means that fans pundits and the general public get unrealistic. The Steelers have a well above average NFL coach who does an extremely good job at getting the most out of marginal players and does a very good job at dealing with personalities. Both cowher and Tomlin needed an elite Hall of Fame quarterback to win super bowls. Andy Reid got booted from Philadelphia after a long run of extremely successful seasons with reasonably deep playoff runs but never winning the super bowl. He had an above average NFL quarterback who never quite showed up at the big moment. Now he is a darling with Mahomes.  The take-home message is it doesn't matter how good your coach is if you don't have a quarterback to stir the drink. Isn't the answer to keep swinging at a quarterback somewhere in the draft or through trade without overpaying until you find one?
Gerry Dulac
11:37
Pay the man!

I'm scared Tomlin/Khan will grab a QB 1st round from a mediocre QB class, which is what they did with Pickett a couple of years ago. I really, really hope they get a big DT. I know I'm preaching to the choir here. Any inside scoop nugget to ease those fears?
Gerry Dulac
11:40
After not adding a quality, starting capable DT in free agency, they darn well BETTER take one in the first round of the draft. Otherwise, it will be the same old thing. The D-line is the weakest and most vulnerable position on the team. If they don't address it -- again -- and I mean in the first round, they deserve everything they get.

Based on Rooney’s commentary that they weren’t “there” with the upper echelon teams, it seems there is the first public admission that they aren’t competing for a Super Bowl any time soon. If that is the case, why in the world would you commit to a turnstile at QB? Is it possible that current ownership and coach do not want to pursue a bigger rebuild because they themselves are closer to their own exits?
Gerry Dulac
11:41
I don't think that has anything to do with it.

11:41
Please, help me understand why  the Steelers want Rodgers?  No one wants him here. The fans don’t want him. No other teams, except one, want him (not even the Jets!). The players are not courting him to come here. Cowher says he is not the best option. Is it only because Tomlin has some giant man-crush on him? Make it make sense, please!
Gerry Dulac
11:41
I wish I could. I can't

Najee seems to have some valid words, only leaving out Middle school player caller Canada system, no WR’s, inexperienced OL. Saban thinks highly of him, possibly MT as well. If Omar or AR II not a fan of him and Is he wrong?
Gerry Dulac
11:42
It's about the money

11:42
Gerry. Do you think giving up the second round draft pick this year for Metcalf was a mistake given we don’t have a quarterback yet?
Gerry Dulac
11:43
Not at all, but I'm still astounded by the 5-year, $150 million contract he was given.
