Did the Steelers even improve at the quarterback position? On a scale of 1-10 how do you rate Rudolph\Pickett versus Wilson\Fields?
Gerry Dulac
10:47
They are better at No. 1 QB. Not sure they are better at No. 2, but the potential is there. We'll see

What are you expecting out of the Steelers in the 2024 season. What would a successful season consist of outside of winning the Superbowl?
Gerry Dulac
10:47
Something better than 10-7 and at least one playoff victory would be a start.
Hi Gerry -

Hi Gerry, When all this KP stuff blows over and an objective writer looks at how Mason and Kenny were developed, my belief will show how inept the coaching staff was from top to bottom in developing QBs. Ben covered for so many warts in the coaching room. From game planning to play calling to in-game management, Ben was the difference maker—NOT Tomlin.  Agree?
Gerry Dulac
10:49
Of course Ben was the difference maker. That's why he's headed to the HOF. And do you think they really "developed" Ben? He was that from the beginning. So you can't criticize the Steelers or any team for failing to develop QBs who just don't have the makeup to be future HOFers.

Could George Pickens be part of a trade for a big name receiver?  It seems crazy to ask, but it struck me as odd that they moved Diontae Johnson for attitude issues when Pickens has had similar (if not worse) issues.  It sounds like it will take a lot to bring someone like Brandon Aiyuk here.

The Steelers have bucked the norm recently.  I know most would say this would never happen, but please humor me.  If the Steelers traded Tomlin, what could they get possibly?  It seems unlikely, but keep in mind the list of coaches traded in the past:  Belichick, Holmgren, Parcells, Gruden.  Tomlin isn't in the same league as those guys.  Even Arians, Peyton, and Edwards are in the same league.
Gerry Dulac
10:50
Excuse me....did you say Holmgren???

Good morning, Gerry!  It would seem that with the addition of P Queen, we have stabilized/addressed concerns at the ILB position.  That said, I still believe that the Steelers need to look at some of the higher rater LB's in the draft, such as Trotter out of Clemson.  We need to start developing LB's and stop paying for them in Free Agency every year.  Thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:51
I'm not going to argue, but think about this: Your inside LBs are only as good as the D-linemen in front of them

With the moves we’ve made so far, where do you see the Steelers going with Rd. 1 pick? Any chance they trade up for a top WR if we strike out with trades?
Gerry Dulac
10:52
I don't think they would have to trade up to get a quality WR in the first round. There seem to be enough of them out there. But keep in mind one thing: The Steelers have a starter at every position but one -- center.

Hi Gerry. I am not liking the QB moves the Steelers have made. I  think the "room" is worse.  Rudolph showed plenty last year to be a very good starting QB and that giving up on Pickett after only 24 games with a poor OC and O-line, etc was foolish. Fields has won 10 games in 3 years. ( 10-45)  and Russell Wilson, 35,  is being pid $38.8M by a team NOT to play for them AND is 17-28 in his last 45.  Both are fumble and sack machines. HOW is this better?
Gerry Dulac
10:55
That's what we're going to find out. And might I point out that Pickett gave up on them, not the other way around.

Gerry, why people assume that if college players are not drafted and never play in the NFL then they would be working at Walmart? The same reasoning with players who get cut. Don't they all have a college degree? Don't they have the academic credentials to succeed in normal everyday jobs? I suppose they attend thier classes while playing college football, right? Can't they come back and complete college and get a degree?
Gerry Dulac

And your point is....??

10:55
What do you make of the assessment that Pickett is a “transfer portal baby”?
Gerry Dulac
10:56
Funny

Have you done any player research on the NFL Draft yet? There's a DT from LSU that's favorably compared to Tuitt - Maason Smith? Looks to be rated around the 3rd round - a possible Stelers choice there?
Gerry Dulac
10:56
Yes and I have and I agree, especially if he lasts to the third round, which I don't think he will. But the Steelers don't need a third-round pick to replace Cam. They need a first-round stud

With the addition of Russell Wilson and Justin Fields to this team........the new name should now be...The Pittsburgh STEAL-ers.
Gerry Dulac
10:57
And there you go!!
Gavin Krott
10:57
Are the Steelers actively exploring a swing at a big name WR? Current players or those in the draft?
Gerry Dulac
10:57
One way or the other, Gavin

10:57
Is it pretty certain that Pittsburgh will land a big catch WR via trade with Williams off the market?
Gerry Dulac
10:58
If they don't sign one in free agency, I would expect one by at least the second round

10:58
Hi Gerry, It looks more and more like some combination of C and OT in the first two rounds.
Gerry Dulac
10:58
Don't rule out WR. Center is a given.

10:58
Besides Terry Bradshaw and Big Ben, which QB you feel was the third best one of the franchise? Kordell? How would his skills would translate in today's NFL?
Gerry Dulac
10:58
Kordell would be a top 5 draft choice if he played right now. Maybe higher
62 Stack Monster
10:58
Gerry, are there any more hostages on the Steelers roster?
Gerry Dulac
10:59
Haha.

10:59
Gerry, to your knowledge had the Pickett thing been building or was it sudden? Where do the Steelers go at this point with wide receivers?
Gerry Dulac
10:59
It was sudden. Less than 24 hours after Wilson agreed to sign
Dave
10:59
Hi Gerry, since the trade, there has been a lot of mention of Pickett's "refusal" to dress as the backup for the Seattle game.  Was that something that was actually reported at the time?  And, if so, by whom?
Gerry Dulac
10:59
It was alleged at the time.

Are the Steelers going all-in like the Rams did in 2021? Why now? And who is pushing this approach?
Gerry Dulac
11:00
Not the same. They haven't been trading first-, second- and third-round picks to get thee guys
