Yes. I thought Cooper Kupp would've been a great add for that reason

Warren's fumbling causes me concern if he is the lead back. Do you envision a scenario where he is the "bell cow" next year, or where he and Gainwell split carries evenly, or that the Steelers draft a RB and that person becomes the main RB and Warren remains in the change of pace, third down RB role with Gainwell?
Gerry Dulac
11:38
I think what you envision at the end of your observation is what you will see.

Gerry I imagine now that Russ is a NY. Giant that the locals will be coming in hot to criticize Russ, make him the "weird & difficult" fall guy while at the same time maintaining Tomlin's brilliance, protect Arthur Smith & rewrite history as happened a few times prior upon a player leaving the team???
Gerry Dulac
11:39
I'm not sure why all the Russell Wilson hate. During that seven-game stretch he had the offense better than it has since Ben left

Would you draft a qb in the 1st round this year or start Mason if Rogers doesn’t pan out?
Gerry Dulac
11:39
No

Why can’t we just call the Steelers situation what it is, an organization rebuild?  Until we find our next franchise quarterback, we our not competing for our seventh championship.  Roll with Mason this year and continue the roster building until we construct a team that can actually win a playoff game or 3.  Let’s go Rudy
Gerry Dulac
11:40
It doesn't need to have a name affixed to where they are. But how many teams would love to be rebuilding in the midst of four playoff appearances in five years?? Take a guess...

Hi Gerry. From a journalistic standpoint, would you mind having to write about the team for a season with the AR circus coming to town? Or would it make your job easier with all the extra plot lines and character facets that are obviously going to rear their ugly heads?
Gerry Dulac
11:41
The circus is always very entertaining, especially the clowns part

Hi Gerry. A portion of last year's draft class essentially red-shirted. What can be expected of guys like Roman Wilson, Ryan Watts and Logan Lee in year 2? Can any of them be impact players?
Gerry Dulac
11:42
That first guy you mentioned is a good possibility

Doesn’t Wilson signing with NY put  more pressure on the Steelers to pay Arron Rogers $$$. Not many qbs left who can pretend to be a starter for the whole season.

Any DL Steelers might be able to trade for? Thanks for your chats,I enjoy
Gerry Dulac
11:42
I wouldn't rule that out

11:43
Did they really as rudely string along Russ Wilson as it appears?
Gerry Dulac
11:45
I really don't think they strung him along like it appears. But Russ wanted to return and they kept holding him at bay

If Rogers decides to not sign, are the Steelers really going to tell us they're happy to go into the season with Rudolph as the starter when they did everything humanly possible to avoid having him be the starter during his original stint here, or do they have a (sad and desperate) plan C (or D)?
Gerry Dulac
11:46
Bill, did you move? Or is this a new Bill with a different California location? The question has the same tone and context of Bill in LA

I've heard the argument that you don't trade Pickens unless you get higher than a 3rd rd pick because you'll get a 3rd rd comp pick plus have his services this year if you keep him. Does this sound about right?
Gerry Dulac
11:47
Not to me it doesn't
Craig from Columbus
11:47
Do you think the Steelers will sign another veteran RB? (Chubb, Dobbins, Edwards, etc) Or will they just draft one in April?
Gerry Dulac
11:47
I think they are looking at the draft

Gerry this Defense is good, but vastly overrated.  TJ Watt - great, the rest overrated. Can't stop the run. Crumbles when it matters most- in big games.  Think back to the NE game when Brissett & company ran the ball out last 6 1/2 minutes, or Dak P driving 93 yds to win on last play, and of course the 299 yards in a playoff game vs Balt. Highest pd defense in the NFL? It's a joke with that amount of money spent.  What say you?
Gerry Dulac
11:47
I say you forgot Cam Heyward, a four-time All Pro

11:48
Hi Gerry….i know you’ve stressed for a long time the Steelers need to go 1st Round DL. If the best of them were gone at 21, what would you go position wise in Round one?
Gerry Dulac
11:48
They better get one in round 1, one way or another

There has been a lot of complaining about Tomlin recently and that he basically only won with Cowher's players.  That was a special group, but there was plenty of talent here through the 2010's.  It is maybe more accurate to say that he won with Cowher's coordinators?  The level of talent at OC/DC the last 10 years of so has been pretty underwhelming...
Gerry Dulac
11:49
I have always said it wasn't just Cowher's players, but Cowher's coaches. I see you're just coming around to that
SS
11:49
If it is AARon under center, will he have more latitude to change plays at the line of scrimmage? If not, does it not seem like an overspend, given Tonmlin's conservative nature and his last two OCs very vanilla offenses?
Gerry Dulac
11:49
OK, now we're getting somewhere...

11:49
What do you think would be the best strategy for the Steelers? Should they aim for a non-losing season with Rodgers, securing an average draft spot for a QB in 2026, or would it be better to semi-tank the season with Mason as the starting QB in order to position themselves for a higher pick and potentially land a top QB in the 2026 draft?
Gerry Dulac
11:50
Aim? Tank? Neither of those are applicable with the Steelers. Maybe the fans, which is why they are the fans
Stash
11:50
Gerry, should the average yinzer cut AR Deuce and Coach T a break on their public obfuscations due to their desire/need for negotiating leverage? If so, with AR Deuce being an esquire, why does he not open each presser with a legal disclaimer, saying not to believe anything uttered henceforth?
Gerry Dulac
11:51
I think he knows what he's doing, trust me
Jon
11:51
Do you think Art Rooney will ever take the players opinion of the facilities seriously and make upgrades?
Gerry Dulac
11:52
The players are spoiled. I get tired of their complaints with the money they make and the way the organization treats them as family. Go play for the Browns and Jets
Andrew
11:52
Jerry, with the Steelers appearing to be in line for 3 or even 4 comp picks in next year's draft, do you believe that is a conscious change in strategy by Khan (AKA playing the "comp pick game") or just a coincidence that several players left in FA in the same year?
