Do you think Big Ben would ever play for another NFL team? If the Steelers decide next year they don't want him back do you see him going somewhere else?
Gerry Dulac
11:12
No. He will retire.

Gerry, I read an article this morning (Behind The Steel Curtain). The article suggested that the Steelers Defense could be better next year because Mike Hilton and Vince Williams were weak links. Do you share the same thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:13
I don't read that stuff, but his point might be that Williams was a two-down player who was a liability in coverage and that Hilton was routinely picked on by opposing QBs because of his size and inability to get underneath receivers.

Did Eric Ebron get an extension last week? I saw that he restructured his contract but didn't see any details of it
Gerry Dulac
11:16
According to reports, he did. And because this was the final year of his contract, that likely means he was given some form of extension with voidable years to pro-rate his signing bonus and lessen the cap hit.

Playing 17 games . . . great for fans but not so much for players.  Will we see game-day rosters increased?
Gerry Dulac
11:17
We will see what happens with rosters post-Covid.

I remember watching one of the Bills games this year and saw they have some guys with binoculars up in the booth with their co-ordinators. I know the Steelers usually keep their OC and DC on the sideline, but do they ever keep guys up in the booth to relay different packages the other teams might use to help out?
Gerry Dulac
11:17
Yes, other position coaches sit in the box with the coordinators. Every team does that.

Read the PG article about how JuJu would have likely built a much better resume in KC. Wondering if there might have been a gentlemen's agreement with Pittsburgh that he would be given his big payday next offseason?
Gerry Dulac
11:18
No he would not build a better resume in KC. He would be Mahomes third or fourth target at best. And there are no gentlemen's agreements

don't you think theres a better option out there than a 34 year old converted defensive end/nose tackle
Gerry Dulac
11:18
Not for them

Hi Mr.  Dulac. I know you're going to be getting mostly draft questions today but I'm curious what your thoughts are on Matt Canada's offense. What do you think he will emphasize and do a little bit different than what we're used to seeing?. Also the signing off ballage at running back, help me understand that one.
Gerry Dulac
11:21
I can't tell you until I see if for myself. But I think you will see a lot more motion and an offense that WANTS to run the ball more. Based on tape I've watched of Ballage, I have no issues with his signing. He is a big guy who can run. It was a one-year deal. That's a no-brainer. I have said all along the next step in fixing the running game is changing the personnel. That's part of it.

Do you think the Steelers will select the best player available in the first round, or will they reach for a RB, T, or CB? Zavin Collins would look great as a Steeler.
Gerry Dulac
11:22
Trust me, the last thing they will do is reach for a CB.

During the combine and now with their pro days Why don’t NFL prospects run the 40 yard dash in full football gear? That’s how the game is played and I’m somewhat perplexed why during pro days they don’t have them working out in their full gear. Thanks
Gerry Dulac
11:22
Then why don't they have every player at every position don pads? Answer: Because they don't

We are one week from the masters. My top five US courses that I’ve played are Augusta National, Winged Foot, Pebble, Oakmont and whistling straits. What are your top 5?
Gerry Dulac
11:23
That's a pretty impressive list. I have yet to play Whistling Straits.

Gerry. Outside of kickers and punters what positions do you think transition easily from the college into the NFL. Conversely which positions are harder to transition from college into the NFL. Thanks
Gerry Dulac
11:27
QB has to be the hardest. Edge rushers and DL might be the easiest. And I'm saying from that from an evaluation process.

Are the extra games such as the Steelers vs Seattle all going to be played on the final week of the season?
Gerry Dulac
11:28
Well, I think that's just for this year because I'm sure the 2021 schedule is nearing completion and tossing in an extra game now would discombobulate the computer.

11:28
With the new 17 game season, are the practice squads going to be bigger? Any chance the league goes to dressing 60 players on game day?
Gerry Dulac
11:29
I sure hope not. And the practice squads were plenty big last year because of Covid

Gerry, the Steelers are very good at drafting LB in addition to WR (and a few others). Consider what the Steelers record of drafting LBs would be if Shazier had not been tragically injured and Worilds had completed his career.
When it approaches FA does the Steelers FO focus on positions it is not good at drafting?
Gerry Dulac
11:32
To me, I have always taken Shazier and Worilds into account anyway. I doubt they look at their own failures as much as they look at the strength or weakness of the draft class. But, if I were them, I'd never draft another cornerback. Ever

If the top 3 running backs are there which one do you choose and why or do you take another position?
Gerry Dulac

I take Harris

Good morning, Gerry.  I understand there are holes to fill and they are many, but you can’t have a power running attack with a tight end that blocks with a matador’s muleta.  What’s the plan?
Gerry Dulac
11:33
By the time I looked up "matador's muleta," it was too late to answer your question.

More likely to still find a quality LT at 55 or a quality RB? And should that impact the team's decision at 24?
Gerry Dulac
11:36
Of course it will...or at least can. OTs are a premium in any draft. Not far behind QBs and edge rushers. Quality ones go quick. RBs are not typically valued as highly in any draft, unless it's a freak like Saquon Barkley.
Where’s My Clark Bar?
11:36
Do you have see the free agent RB market become a bargain bin where the Steelers can pick up a very good back and not have to use a draft pick?
Gerry Dulac
11:36
They are not looking in the bargain bin for a starting RB. They are looking at the draft.

11:36
Was there another year that 3 teams in AFC North had double digit wins?
Gerry Dulac
11:37
I'm sure there was, I don't know offhand. And I don't have the time right now to look it up because I have to get to the next insightful question.
