Has there been anything more exhausting than these 2 off seasons of “will he or won’t he?” with Aaron Rodgers?
Gerry Dulac
2:41
It's right up there

Why does national media seem to have a general dislike for the Steelers?  Nearly all segments are negative and give the impression that they are haters.  I’m as frustrated as anyone about not advancing in the playoffs in what seems like forever but we did actually win the division last year.  Listening to the talking heads, you would think we are one of the worst team in the league.
Gerry Dulac
2:42
Five playoff appearances and two division titles the past six years

Do you think they will pick a LG by Rnd 2? Are Bisontis, Pregnon, and Dunker likely targets for them in Rnd 2 if that's how it falls? Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
2:42
I do not but you never know

McCarthy made a point to bring up the luxury of having 12 picks in this years draft. I still can’t see them making all 12 picks, do you think it’s more likely we see a trade up? Or do we trade some of these picks in 26 to acquire extra picks in the 27 draft?
Gerry Dulac
2:43
To me, that's why you stockpiled those picks in the first place -- to maneuver with them

With 5 picks in the top 100, will they use draft capital to target the players they want in that range at WR, S, LG, DT, and CB and use what's left to get pick up a TE and another WR?
Gerry Dulac
2:43
They could for sure

Hello Gerry and thanks as always for the chats.  I am wondering why most in Steelers Nation seem to be against the idea that, if Aaron Rodgers retires, bringing in Kirk Cousins as a bridge QB in Mike McCarthy's offense is such a bad idea?  Cousins has appeared to be a consummate professional who can sling the football with some of the best QBs in the league.
Gerry Dulac
2:45
There's no question about that. But bringing in Cousins is just the same ol' thing again -- another 1-year veteran QB to keep things from going south. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Any major news from the meetings so far?
Gerry Dulac
2:45
Yeah, first time in 19 years a Steelers head coach showed up on time for the AFC coaches breakfast
KJ
2:45
Judging from what you have heard and gleaned from your sources within the Steelers organization, which receivers (I expect the Steelers to draft two) appear to be the favorites coming to Pittsburgh via the draft?
Gerry Dulac
2:46
Well, one (or both) could be coming from the midwest
KJ
2:46
If available to the Steelers at #21, is Vega Ioane too good for the Steelers to pass up?
Gerry Dulac
2:46
Possibly. I still need to get a little better intel on that one

Hey Gerry, will the PGA take any action against Tiger?
Gerry Dulac
2:47
They should. But I doubt they will. And, if they do, like everything with TW, I'm sure nobody will be aware of it
Arthur not Art
2:47
Do you think the approach they've taken for the QB position this offseason was their best option?
Gerry Dulac
2:47
They didn't have many good options to begin with.

Thanks for doing these chats. There are some reports that money may be a factor in the long delay with Rodger’s deciding whether to play another season (shock). He played for about $14 million last year. How much would GM Dulac pay him for 2026, and how much do you think the Steelers would be willing to pay?
Gerry Dulac
2:48
Money has nothing to do with it

I think I read having the draft in the city doesn't change where the PG covers the draft from but do you anticipate this will have an impact, (positive, negative, both) on the ability to cover this draft?
Gerry Dulac
2:48
Not for me. I will be with the Steelers coaches and top brass -- at their So Side facility.

Hi Gerry, what do you make of the reports that the Steelers looked into Kirk Cousin last year.  I'm sure they look into and inquire about players all the time... is this just more national media click bait?
Gerry Dulac
2:49
They kick the tires on a lot of players. That's Omar Khan's job

I have a follow-up question related to your article about Mike McCarthy's coaching tree. People often pointed out Tomlin's lack of a coaching tree as a criticism of his abilities. What grade would you give to each of Chuck Noll's and Bill Cowher's, and Tomlin's coaching trees?
Gerry Dulac
2:50
Better than Tomlin's. Cowher A+ and Noll "A," keeping in mind Noll's staff were tiny by today's comparisons. He served many roles

I'd hate to see some of these fans if the Steelers were ACTUALLY mediocre!

With 12 draft picks and limited roster spots, would you be willing to trade up for premier players that might otherwise not be there when the Steelers pick?
Gerry Dulac
2:51
Absolutely, even if they are not "premium players." I'll settle for better players

Most fans (and probably media members) are tired of the will he/won't he saga but isn't having Rodgers 2 years in a row a benefit to the team? They've had a different starter each season since Ben. That has to impact the offense. I don't see the other options being better than this benefit. While I'm tired of the drama, shouldn't we just tune it out because in the end, he's going to be their starting QB. I wouldn't be surprised if they give him a 2-yr deal, with minimal cap implications if they decide to move on next year, would you?
Gerry Dulac
2:51
Yes it is. But I don't think it will be a two-year deal, mainly because I don't think he wants a two-year commitment

Hu Gerry,
I know Carson Bruner was a 7th round draft pick and has been utilized exclusively on special teams where he has been productive. Do you think Carson has any chance of seeing the field as an inside linebacker at some point. He was a leader ion defense at UW with a reputation of great football instincts, always  being around the ball and carrier and played much bigger than his size. He was able to both shed blocks and avoid them. He is similar to Payton Wilson but maybe has some strengths that have not been utilized fully. What’s your opinion?
Gerry Dulac
2:52
Right now, only if there are injuries. But they like the way the kid plays
Big Pig

With 12 picks and only so many roster spots at the end of the day, would you be looking to trade up in the draft?
Gerry Dulac
2:52
Yes
