Jerry, I watched a decent amount of Bearcat football this year and Ridder seemed very streaky to me. He’s a winner, but also the product of great defense and coaching. Any idea why he is sneaking into a lot of first round conversations and might be the pick at 20?

I'll believe it when I see it. Of course, never underestimate the desperation of teams who are always trying to unearth the next franchise QB, none of whom exist in this draft.

Hi, everybody seems to be down on Trubisky before he's taken one snap.  Regardless of his history, maybe this works for him, and Canada for that matter.  Is that wrong to think?
Gerry Dulac
11:25
Give him a chance. They said the same thing about Ryan Tannehill

Gerry, have you heard anything about MT having trouble reading defenses?  Thanks
Gerry Dulac
11:27
Not until you just asked me. I'm sure they said that about him in Chicago, but, hey, most rookies do. Josh Allen had no clue what he was looking at his first 1 1/2 seasons in Buffalo

"No franchise QBs in this draft" is a mighty strong statement to make, and an evaluation of their future I haven't heard anywhere else. You really dislike these qb's *that* much?
Gerry Dulac
11:28
I think most people around the league -- people who know -- know this is an average QB class bereft of a sure-fire franchise QB.

Gerry. I assume you played Augusta. What did you shoot?

I have.

Gerry - does Tiger make the cut at the masters? Would be an amazing Sunday if he is in contention.
Gerry Dulac
11:30
I think he will, but that's the most he will do. That in itself will be an amazing accomplishment after what happened 14 months ago. https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/golf/2022/04/05/tiger-woods-golf-m...

After Jordan Davis, I don’t feel like there are any first round caliber defensive linemen that fit into the Steelers scheme. If he’s gone (and he most likely will be) I think they should address that need in the second round instead (Logan Hall, Winfrey, Mathis). As for the first round, to me it seems like the most likely position we are going to draft is wide receiver. This receiver class is loaded at the top and I think nobody is talking about us addressing this position first as much as they should be
Gerry Dulac

There aren't many defensive tackles who merit a top pick in the draft. But there are plenty of WRs to be had on the first AND second round. So, if a D-lineman they like is there, they will take him on the first round and still be able to get a good WR on the 2nd round

Gerry, Do you have a Masters prediction?  Also, a prediction on how Tiger will do?
Ryan

Gerry when do you think Tuitt comes back if he does and who’s winning the masters this week i like Thomas or spieth
Jay Daven
11:33
Gerry, with New Orleans making trades they now have 2 first round selections in the draft, one being at the 19th.  Since this selection is just prior to the Steelers at 20, do you think they want to select the player that they think the Steelers want?
Gerry Dulac
11:34
I don't think that's why they made the move. But maybe. Maybe they think the Steelers want a QB and they don't want to chance it. That would be some foresight. Chancy foresight for sure

Gerry, I am not overly familiar with the guys the Steelers signed in Free Agency. Putting the value of the deal/fit aside for a moment, how would you grade these guys as football players? Daniels, Cole, Wallace, Jack, Gunner. Thanks!!
Gerry Dulac
11:36
I don't see these guys on a regular basis to judge, especially when two are O-linemen. I leave that to my friend Wolf. Jack, to me, is the best of who they signed. Daniels is second, Wallace third.

Article this past Saturday by Bats that there is stability at TE. I am not so sure in that Freiermuth had two concussions in his Rookie season. Perhaps TE is higher on the draft board than what we expect considering how important that position is to the offense.
Gerry Dulac
11:36
I would be shocked if the Steelers drafted a TE. No need.

Hi Gerry - I know a lot of the chats have focused on the first couple of rounds off the draft. What positions do you see the Steelers focusing on in the later rounds?
Gerry Dulac
11:37
That's always a crap shoot, but if you mean rounds 4-7 I'd say another DL, RB possibly, probably CB, maybe even another WR

How stupid are the Browns for paying $230 million for a scum bag to lead their team?
Gerry Dulac
11:38
Stupid isn't strong enough to describe it. Not only paying, but guaranteeing. Imagine what the other owners in the league thought when they saw that? Cringe isn't strong enough to describe it

Which receivers do you think the Steelers will have significant interest in for round 1?
Gerry Dulac

Can't answer that

Shouldn't Bush have to have at least some muscle definition in order to start at ILB for the Pittsburgh freaking Steelers?

I'm sorry, have you seen him in the gym or something lately??

Gerry, I read of Andy Weidl’s 24 years experience in the NFL and think he would be a good replacement for Kevin Colbert.
Gerry Dulac
11:40
I'd be willing to bet he is the front-runner for the position, as of right now

Good morning, Mr. D.  With clearly more immediate needs at DL, DB and OL (even with solid FA additions) why in the world is anyone even thinking about, much less suggesting, a QB at 20?  It makes absolute no sense at all.  Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:40
My thoughts are you are 100 percent correct

I don’t think Willis will be there at 20 and I’m not sold on other QBs at that slot, and I actually like idea of Trubisky being able to show his best side in Pittsburgh.  Is that nuts?  If it’s not, then wouldn’t going Defense and having old Steeler tough D be the best thing to lessen pressure on MT too? (And get him a WR in 2nd or 3rd round too!)
