Most want the Steelers to trade UP. I hope they trade DOWN!!  Do you think Pick 20 & 52 for Detroit's for 32 & 34 is fair deal?? And a possibility?
Gerry Dulac
11:41
They will trade up (within reason) for only one player in my opinion -- and it certainly isn't a QB. I think that trade you mentioned sounds like a fair deal, but you're dropping 12 spots in the first round to move up 18 in the second round.

% chance it's a QB with the first round pick on Thursday?
Gerry Dulac
11:41
Depends if the one player is there. If not, zero.

Hi Gerry:  Thanks for the Chats:  Have you or anyone you know seen Tuitt looking in shape this month at Steelers Training Facilities?  If not, do you think he going to be cut after June 1st?  That is less than 5 weeks from now.
Gerry Dulac
11:42
Not only do we not get to attend voluntary workouts, we don't even get to know who attends and doesn't. We won't know until OTAs...if then

To follow up my previous question about the need to draft a top WR, if neither of the Georgia Defensive Tackles are available at #20, what do you believe the likelihood is of the Steelers drafting a WR in that spot?
Gerry Dulac
11:43
I think it is a very likely possibility.

Seems like processing is an issue for all QBs on the roster. Any sense for how the team evaluates the trait? And who bodes well in this area this year?
Gerry Dulac
11:46
I wouldn't know that until I get to watch them. But I've watched Mason Rudolph and I don't think he has any problems processing. Teams evaluate that by watching a QB's pre-snap reads and how he goes through his progressions once the ball is snapped.

Jerry, it's the day before the draft. Are teams already jockeying with other teams that they may potentially trade with to move up or back with now? I ask because I think the Steelers may need to move up if they want someone like Davis if they feel he won't make it to them at 20. Thanks!
Gerry Dulac

Finally, someone....bingo!!

Never say never but what position groups are likely out for draft pick consideration this year?
Gerry Dulac
11:47
G, ILB, TE, P, K, RB

Given the Steelers history of drafting players from South Bend, how much on their radar is S Kyle Hamilton? Does he appear to have a higher ceiling than Edmonds?
Gerry Dulac
11:48
Absolutely. They really like Hamilton. Big-time impact player. They just think he will be long off the board when they pick
KJ

How important is it that the Steelers draft a "game changing" WR this weekend? Personally, I feel it is the greatest need for this team other than the defensive tackle position.  What do you say about that?
Gerry Dulac
11:49
Look, if they think they have a shot at a "game-changing receiver," like a Jameson Williams, they will take him. But they need a couple receivers and they should be able to find a very good one on the second round, too

With the recent reports that Deebo Samuel is demanding a trade out of SF and the subsequent rumors about the Steelers being interested in Samuel, have you heard any rumblings from within the Steelers organization that there is any validity to these rumors? IMO, Samuel is a heckuva player and would fit in nicely with the Steelers, but his pricetag may be a little too high...
Gerry Dulac
11:49
Who said the Steelers are interested in him??

Gerry - what is the #1 area you are most curious about with regards to the Steelers draft - perhaps something that isn't getting enough coverage or discussion due to all the intrigue around what happens at QB?
Gerry Dulac
11:51
I think I've made it known repeatedly where they need to go -- and should go -- in the first round. And it's not QB. Might as well drive down the parkway and toss the pick out the window somewhere around Crafton if that's the case.

11:51
Davis or Stingley?  Who would you prefer if either or both drop in a dream scenario?
Gerry Dulac
11:51
Not even close.

11:51
what do you think about deebo samuels.   seems to me that he would solve WR issues and be good backup RB.   gonna cost #1 and #2, but would be huge impact
Gerry Dulac
11:52
I think Deebo Samuels is very good, but his price tag would not interest the Steelers

So it does seem like at some point a QB will be drafted, but that seems absurd at any portion of the draft.  How can you justify taking a qb in say round 3 in a draft where the top qbs are already considered pretty mediocre? Prefer Rosen being the no. 3 and a random camp body just hanging around for the preseason.
Gerry Dulac
11:53
If they don't draft a QB on the first round, they will draft a QB, but it won't be till about the fourth or fifth round. Maybe later. How late they draft a QB will tell you what type of veteran QB they will pursue as a free agent after the draft.
Jerry
11:53
I think we should get a wr at 20 because at 52 all the good ones will be gone. Your thoughts
Gerry Dulac
11:53
That is more true about DTs than WRs
Jeb from England
11:53
Gerry, Do you think there's any chance we could call the name of OT Faalele, Minnesota?
Gerry Dulac
11:53
When? 1st round?
Gene
11:54
Do you think OL is still a possibility in RD1?
Gerry Dulac
11:55
Nope. Not after the money they spent and moves they made in free agency. That's why they made them -- to lessen the urgency to take an OL high in the draft. But there are a couple good OTs.

Do the Steelers regret passing on Creed Humphrey last year in the 2nd round? Would they consider Linderbaum at 20 this year?
Gerry Dulac
11:55
Hey, every coach/GM/team can have regrets after every draft. You can't everybody you like. But they will not consider Linderbaum at 20, nor should they.

Gerry what is your dream scenario for rounds 1 and 2? What specific players?
Gerry Dulac

I saw one mock where the Steelers traded first rounds with the Giants. Steelers added their second this year and their 1st next year.  Steelers got the Giants 5th this year.  They took Willis.  In what world is that reasonable?
Gerry Dulac
11:57
None. I suggest you not pay attention to mock drafts conducted by people who have zero clue what they're talking about.
