Does Brandon Hunt remain with the Steelers now?
Gerry Dulac
1:08
I doubt it. I

So let me get this straight - Gerry is our resident insider & expert when it comes to the Steelers.  Yet we want to be critical of him when the Steelers do things that we don’t agree with as fans?  Reminder - Gerry NEVER once said the Steelers wouldn’t or couldn’t draft a QB in the 1st round…..he simply said in his opinion they shouldn’t.  Thanks for all you do!!!

OK, I'm searching for something to give this guy!!

There is always a debate as to who makes who better, the quarterback, or the receiver.  Can you cite any wide receivers in the Hall of Fame who played with an "average" quarterback ?
Gerry Dulac
1:10
Can't think of one, though I'm sure there must be one someone will name. Good question.

If Ken P wins the starting position during camp do you feel we could get more for Mitch T or Mason R on the market?
Gerry Dulac
1:11
I don't think they intend to trade Mitch Trubisky under any circumstance

QB & LG - are there any other significant competition battles heading into Training Camp?
Gerry Dulac
1:11
Nope

I think the Steelers need to make one more solid splash by adding an OT that can come off the bench… not sure Haeg or recently signed Scott are the answers to that spot.
Gerry Dulac
1:11
I think they think they've spent enough money on the OL in free agency

Gary - have you been approached by the Athletic before or since Ed retired?  I canceled my subscription when Ed left and I want to make sure i do not need to re-subscribe.  I only would if you left PG.  Here's hoping that never happens. thanks for the chats and what you do.
Gerry Dulac
1:12
Yeah....they wanted me to buy a subscription.
But, hey, thanx for the support and kind words.

Gerry. Of everything that has transpired in the past month, the most incredible thing to me is that the Ravens got a 1st round pick for Hollywood Brown!
Gerry Dulac
1:12
Haha. That's one of 'em.

Hey Mr. Dulac,  Will the Steelers make an offer for a true back-up running back to Najee or will they keep the status quo?
Gerry Dulac
1:13
I think they will. I think they should.

Should be interesting to see how we do without a hall of fame QB and average roster. If the over/under for wins is 8.5 would you take the under/
Gerry Dulac
1:14
That would be another non-losing .500 season for Mike Tomlin

Do you think the Steelers will make a move say for Miles Gaskins to ensure whichever QB wins the competition they will not be hamstrung if Harris has to miss time?
Gerry Dulac
1:14
The only move being made for Miles Gaskins was me going to Google to see who the heck he was.

Why do you think that Major League Baseball has so many former players who become managers, while the NFL has almost no head coaches who are former players?
Gerry Dulac
1:18
I think the NFL has become more about formations, analytics and getting players to perform. I have always thought the NFL, more so than every other pro sports league, was about the coaching. Every team -- every team!! -- has athletes who are big, fast, strong, can run and jump. It comes down to which coaches put those athletes in the best position to win.

Hi Gerry, is Haden still unsigned?  If he is, any chance he returns?  Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
1:20
Yes. And yes

Better chance of happening-  Claypool puts it together this season or Pickens outplays Claypool?

In hindsight, was it one of Kevin Colbert's most bone-headed moves to rely on an undersized rookie guard to play center in 2021?
Gerry Dulac
1:22
The problem was, Green never had a year to get acclimated to the NFL before learning a new position. Both Mike Webster and Dermontti Dawson did before moving from guard to center. People forget that.

If Mitch Trubisky isn't the starter and is passed by Mason does Trubisky ask for a trade or take the token money the Steelers gave him and keep his mouth shut? Pickett has a year or two to show if he's got it. Trubisky never reached his expectations, so nothing is a given.
Gerry Dulac
1:23
I don't see that happening, but, hey, nothing is a given

I hope that D. Bush is back to 100% this season, but if does not appear to have improved much over last year, how long do you think the Steelers roll with him before making a switch?
Gerry Dulac
1:24
One more year. Kinda like Terrell Edmunds. That's why they didn't pick up his option.

what are a couple of differences in how Meyer coaches the o line vs the o line coaches last year?
Gerry Dulac
1:26
Pat Meyer is a highly regarded OL coach. But a lot of what he is able to do in-game depends on the OC calling the right plays/formations

Hi Gerry. What are the chances the Steelers find a team to trade Mason Rudolph to for a draft pick.
Gerry Dulac
1:27
They found one for Josh Dobbs, didn't they? Injuries happen and teams start getting desperate to find a QB.
Bill
1:27
Do you agree with my take on QBs: the Steelers should trade Mitch Trubisky because he is somewhat marred due to his small role in the death of Dwayne Haskins, Mason Rudolph is a more than adequate second string QB and can be a good starter until Kenny Pickett is ready, and the Steelers want to keep Chris Oladukun as a developmental 3rd sting QB.
