JBL - Hey Gerry, if Omar and Andy are gonna run the show, what does that mean for Brandon Hunt? And, will there be any need to back fill Omar's old slot?
Gerry Dulac
1:29
That means you will likely see him moving and getting his mail elsewhere. And nobody would blame him for doing so

knowing that Kenny Pickett is the QB of the future of the Steelers, If the Steelers were to trade Rudolph or Trubisky, Would Trubisky for a 3rd or 4th rounder and have Pickett start or trade Rudolph for a 5th or 6th round pick and have Trubisky start and Pickett sit back and learn be better?

To quote Bill Cowher...I don't play the what-if game

Does hiring Shelton White add any Picks?
Gerry Dulac

I don't know. Not sure how that works in this instance

Harvin as the punter this year? Seems like they are doubling down on a bad decision with him.
Gerry Dulac

It does right now!!

Do you expect Brandon Hunt to stay with the Steelers, and if so, what will be his role?
Gerry Dulac
1:30
I do not

I'd like to watch a vintage game of BR in his prime to remind me what great QB play looks like. Is there a game or two you suggest? I don't think the yard stick is just playing better than BR did the last year or two.

Indy and Denver, 2005 postseason. None better

is it wishful thinking for me to believe that MT can not  only survive as QB here but thrive?  Good size, highly athletic, pedigree and starting experience in a bad situation for a bad Bears team w an unimaginative OC/HC..
Gerry Dulac
1:32
It's not. It's very possible.

There are four quarterbacks one of which has taken a snap with Matt Canada's offense. There are three preseason games which means 12 quarters of football to get ready for the season. Starters may only see four quarters of work. The seventh round pick gets garbage time in the last two games, How do you see the division of labor for the remaining QB's in the preseason?

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. But, no question, Trubisky and Pickett will get most of the first-half work because they are the new QBs who need to be evaluated. They've seen plenty of Mason before

On one hand having MT, KP, MR as your QB group going into the season could be really strong. But let’s assume they start the season in that order and MR doesn’t dress on game days.   Will he become a distraction?   Want out?  His best bet is an injury somewhere else and he can be traded to a 1 or 2 position elsewhere (not that we would get a 1 or 2). What are your thoughts on that dynamic once the order is set and the season starts?  Thank you.

Mason Rudolph will not be a game-day inactive. If he's the No. 3 quarterback at the end of camp, he will be traded

Is Mike Tomlin now the defacto GM?
Gerry Dulac
1:35
I'm sure he will have a little more output, especially during the first year of the transition.

You can’t really fault the Steelers for extending MR last year, for bringing in MT to compete, and for not passing on KP.  It should make things interesting and a little awkward.   Go Steelers!
Gerry Dulac
1:37
Agreed, at least on two of your three points.

Do you approve of the Omar hire?   Can you give reasons why you do or do not?
Gerry Dulac
1:38
I have no problems with it. Especially after hiring Andy Weidl to supplement the position.

Hi Gerry, so I was chatting with a buddy about our hometown Steelers.  He explained to me that the Steelers were originally purchased by Art Sr. with "winnings" wink-wink from this horse track.  I tried to get more from him as to what the wink meant but had to run.  As a guy who loves the Steelers but does not know all the history (yet)...I was hoping you could elucidate on the true genesis of this great franchise.  Thank you!

I suggest you google that topic to get the full story, because I don't have the space nor the inclination to explain the story here. But, wink wink, a lot of truth to the narrative

One of the biggest mistakes I believe you can make salary cap wise is signing a good player to a great player salary.  With the WR salaries exploding...I think Diontae Johnson is good, not great.  Do you think the Steelers resign him?
Gerry Dulac
1:39
For the reasons you just said (of which I agree), no.

Gerry, With Khan getting the GM job and Weidl and White signed for personnel, does that mean Brandon Hunt is going/gone?
Gerry Dulac

One way or another, yes

Hi Gerry. I'm a long time Steeler born and raised. I'm spoiled by our success in years past. We've got the one for the thumb. The football gods upstairs have locked us out of the Stairway to Heaven line the last 5 years. You're best guess, can we make it to the promise land in 2-3 years or will we continue being consistently consistent.

It doesn't take much to turn things around in the NFL, especially when you've been a playoff team the past two seasons and three of the past five

Good afternoon Gerry who has looked good at otas how has Pickett Austin and Pickens looked

Not a big fan of making evaluations at OTAs. They're in shorts, nobody blocks, hits or tackles, and they don't have to worry about getting hit.

Hello Gerry.  Are you in the camp of "coach Tomlin has earned his way to total control" or "coach Tomlin is better suited when he hires great help and delegates?"

I haven't camped since Boy Scouts, but I always learned to take the second tent, not the first

I would lean to Silly being right.
