I like listening to Domata Peko

Can you give us a team that will surprise and a team that will disappoint?
Gerry Dulac
10:35
NYG are the surprise/turnaround team. I think the Cowboys might disappoint (again)

How much time do you believe we should take  before we start judging MM, to not only get his plays in place, but enough of his type of players in place, 2 to 3 three years?
Gerry Dulac
10:35
Fair enough.

Thanks for the chats Gerry. When does big 71 start?  Also are there active discussions between the Steelers and JPJ’s agents?  If they don’t reach a deal by opening day would porter’s “back injury” flare up again?
Gerry Dulac
10:36
It will only be a matter of time before 71 is the starter at RT. And there are discussions, more so now than just a couple weeks ago. They will get more serious as the week wears on

Good morning Gerry.  What is your assessment of the decision to keep all 10 draft picks?  Are all of those players ready to step up and to contribute in a meaningful way to the team?
Gerry Dulac
10:38
I don't think the coaches expect all 10 of the guys to contribute in a meaningful way. Some won't even be active on game day. I'm surprised all 10 made the team. Heck, I was surprised when they held on to 10 picks in the draft.

Good Morning Gerry, Thanks for the chats. I though Nichols had a good shot making the final 53. If he didn't make it was due to the fact he doesn't play special teams, why wouldn't he beg to be on special teams? Terrell Davis did it and made a name for himself and it worked out well for him. Was Nichols not given that opportunity? Would love to know your thoughts.
Gerry Dulac
10:39
I think he certainly deserved a shot, but it came down to him and Eli Heidenreich, and sometimes the draft pick wins out in those instances. But Nichols is on the practice squad and just an injury away from getting a chance

Do you think they should pass a rule that anybody that yells "GET IN THE HOLE" at a golf tournament should be thrown out  by security.
Gerry Dulac
10:39
Definitely!! And "mashed potatoes!"

10:39
If you were buying a jersey for the long haul, who would you buy and why? Keep in mind that Herbig jerseys are few and far between at this time.
Gerry Dulac
10:39
Bernard?

10:39
do you think rodgers signing was a wise move, or is it going to prove costly
Gerry Dulac
10:40
Well, my favorite answer -- time will tell. But I don't think so
Bill
10:40
Why did they not resign Elandon Roberts? Was he earning too much for a practice squad player?
Gerry Dulac
10:41
Money had NOTHING to do with it. He would have been earning the veteran minimum, so cutting him cost them nothing. Let me ask you this -- why was he sitting out there the entire offseason, not getting a bite from any other team?? Uh.....
Tommy in Florida
10:41
While we haven't really seen the official starting O-line, what was presented to us during the preseason seems to reveal we'll be throwing more dinks and dunks this year. Are you seeing better production in practices, or will we be monitoring the waiver wire for veterans this week? Thanks for your thoughts.
Gerry Dulac
10:42
I don't think the O-line has anything to do with the types of throws. That's more about Aaron Rodgers

Morning, Gerry.
If the pushback for the NFL going to 18 games or even 20 games is the players not wanting to play more games, why not make it an 18 games season(or 20) but players are only allowed to play 16/17 games and they collect game checks for those games only but not more than that and then coaches decide what games those players play in?
I think it'd add some fun strategy for the season and the starters don't have to wine about playing more.
It's a win for the NFL, backups and the fans. Plus you keep records safe from being broken by more games played.
Gerry Dulac
10:43
Well, aside from your point about records being intact, it's a unique thought. Not one we'll ever see, but unique
BUCS21
10:43
I seem to remember you in 2021 & 2022 not critizing the players, Harris & Pickett, but the fact they should have been picked players for the DL & OL.
Gerry Dulac
10:43
Correct. Especially the DL, and especially in the Pickett draft

10:43
Happy Wednesday Gerry!! After the cuts, what is your opinion about the roster, Do we have a capable team to win the playoff game???
Gerry Dulac
10:44
I have thought, even before the cuts, they are a better team than last year with all the offseason moves. So...yes
Tommy in Florida
10:44
Any shot we see Joe Milton in a Steelers uniform this year?
Gerry Dulac
10:44
None
Tommy in Florida
10:44
Playoffs! Playoffs? Are we going to win a playoff game or two this year? An all caps YES would be an awesome Christmas present!
Gerry Dulac
10:44
I never make promises I can't deliver

10:44
Porter is back practicing which is good but seems to be noncommittal  about playing which is bad. What’s your take? Is he just posturing or is he actually injured since he refers to not being 100%?
Gerry Dulac
10:45
His posture looked pretty good to me yesterday, on both fronts!!
Rahn
10:46
What are your thoughts on the team being the league's oldest despite keeping all 10 draft picks?
Gerry Dulac
10:47
It's a big disparity with all the 30-somethings and all the 20-somethings
chuck Mac
10:47
Lots of discussion about practice squad and elevating players on game day.  Can you explain the process- exposure to losing players to other teams -creating roster space... ?  thx
Gerry Dulac
10:48
A team can claim any player on a practice squad but have to place him on their 53-man roster. But a practice squad player can decline the claim and remain with his team

10:48
Hi Gerry.  I don't understand fans' obsession with how much a player makes. I heard on the radio this morning Nick Herbig is the 11th highest paid edge rusher this year and he's not a starter. What fans don't realize is that in 3 years when Herbig is most likely a full time starter this contract will be a bargain. Is this a blue collar Pittsburgh thing or are all fans the same? Pay JPJ!
Gerry Dulac
10:49
Who can predict what will happen in three years?? It's a lot of money to pay a backup

Good morning Gerry, should there be a minimum of one all-pro season on the résumé before a player can stage a hold in?
