After going through disputes over guaranteed $ with LeVeon Bell and now TJ Watt, are the Steelers now outside the prevailing practice in the NFL on the % of guaranteed $ in contracts for NFL All Pro level talent and, if so, is their policy going to have to change to avoid the same dispute when it is Minka Fitzpatrick’s turn for a new deal after his first contract?

There is a reason Mike Tomlin has never had a losing season in 15 years and why the Steelers have arguably been the NFL's consistently best team for the last 3-4 decades. Because they know how to manage their franchise. And, with few exceptions, how many stars players have left the team for more money? And how has it worked out for many of them? Ask Bell

It’s not like the Steelers are going to open the floodgates to guarantee every contract for every player if they guarantee most of Watt’s contract. We’re talking about one of the top ten players in the NFL. Don’t make it sound like the Steelers doing this for Watt is horrible precedent Gerry. Come on. You’re better than that

I think both will develop into good players. More importantly, so do the Steelers. They already see that Dan Moore is better than what they thought.

Hi Gerry, all this talk about Watt's contract is driving even me crazy. Didn't GM Colbert sign Ingram in the off season? Didn't Colbert grab Schobert to play the inside? I think the defense could be better than last year's. And just when will GM Colbert finally be recognized as the top GM of the NFL?
