Good morning Gerry.  The behavior of today's players is appalling to me and one of the reasons I don't watch games anymore.  Seeing how Tyreek Hill acted so disrespectful and entitled with authority figures was disgusting.  He should be suspended.  What happened to "protecting the shield"?  Do you think the league will ever get back to employing respectful players instead of so many punks that are out there today?
Gerry Dulac
10:16
Those days are gone my friend. But, remember, not all players are that way. BTW, did you watch the police body cam? Would you like to be treated like that??

18 points.  No touchdowns.  No turnovers.  Settling for field goals.  Yet having a winning record.  I'm talking about Canada/Pickett, not Smith/Fields.  When it was Pickett, he was considered awful.  When it is Fields, it is considered positive.  Why?  Because he can run fast?  Or do our standards lower every season?
Gerry Dulac
10:18
It has to change, and I'm sure it will. One of the directives this season was to score more points, and you do that with touchdowns. It's early. Give it time. But it has to change

Hi Gerry, if you had your choice, now that the Steelers seem to be more open to trading for an impact player, would you rather see the trade for a Brandon Aiyuk-type wide receiver or a Brandon Aiyuk-type (young, established, expiring contract, etc.) defensive lineman?
Thanks!
Gerry Dulac
10:18
I want that stud D-lineman in the draft, not as a complimentary guy in a trade. I'll take the first option

Hi Gerry, Calvin Austin somehow looks great in camp/preseason only to disappear during games. Van Jefferson is probably a #4 receiver on any team. Roman Wilson is an unproven rookie. Is there any urgency among team officials to acquire another WR via trade? I don't see a solution unless they commit to Freiermuth as the de factor "WR2". Thanks

In the immortal words of Ike Taylor, it is what it is.

Are the Steelers still searching for a WR? And did this game urge them to find one
Gerry Dulac
10:20
I don't think they ever shut the door.

Happy Wednesday Gerry ! So, are we close to see Jones and Fautanu playing at the same time?  or should Dan Moore needs to have a couple of bad games ?
Gerry Dulac
10:29
We're getting closer. And Dan Moore is getting closer to getting a big contract in free agency. Did you see the way he shut down Matthew Judon the other day??

I feel energized seeing the offensive play calling, just give the offense  time to jell , do you agree??
Gerry Dulac
10:30
I'm not sure I would say energized just yet....

When is the Acrisure Stadium future feasibility study  supposed to be completed?
Gerry Dulac

Why you asking?

Hey Gerry. What’s the status on Roman Wilson and do we think he will step up and be that long lost WR2?
Gerry Dulac
10:31
He's supposed to start doing a little more in practice, but after missing the entire preseason I wouldn't expect him to contribute anytime soon, if I were you. Rookies who miss that much time have a hard time catching up.

Your thoughts…was Queen not comfortable yet with his new team on Sunday or has he lost a step?
Gerry Dulac
10:32
It was one game in a new defense with new players

I noticed a comment in the papers about the lack of blocking from the WRs, particularly Pickens. That makes me think of one of the greats, Hines Ward. He has the numbers, rules reminiscent of Mel Blount’s play. Why is he not in the HOF?
Gerry Dulac
10:32
I think he should be. If you know one of the HOF selectors, let him know.

The national media could not be more split on the Steelers QB situation. Where do you stand?
Gerry Dulac
10:33
Usually to the right and behind the guy teeing off

Gerry ti my eye Najee doesn’t have the burst that he needs to  hit the hole and break  long runs. He punishes defenders but a lt of 3 yard runs.
Gerry Dulac
10:33
You mean like on that 20-yard run?

Hi Gerry- Wrestling question- After watching Zach Frazier and considering his wrestling background, do teams actively look for athletes from sports like wrestling? Wrestlers need to have balance, learn body leverage, strength- just seems like a sport that lends itself to an offensive line. Nebraska has a nose tackle, Nash Hutmacher that was 4 time S.D. state wrestling champ, 2 time shot put champ, and he is a handful on the DL.shruggs off Ol as if they're not there. Last Sat. against CU he chased down SubPrime for an 11 yard loss, so he's fast too- seems as though the wrestling background plays in pretty well. Any thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:34
Not actively, but in Frazier's case -- and Carlton Haselrig -- you can see it serves them well. He was a beast in Atlanta. I see big things from this guy

Good morning, Merry. Even though he's missed quite a bit of time, do you feel the Steelers will rush Roman Wilson into the mix at WR?
Gerry Dulac
10:34
Nope

Thanks as always for your chats Gerry.  Curious about why Russell Wilson was suited and booted for the game in ATL if he was inactive?  What message was he sending by staying in uniform despite being inactive?
Gerry Dulac
10:35
He was the designated third QB, which means he could have played if there were injuries to Fields and Kyle Allen.

5-1, 4-2 and 4-2 are the Steelers records the last 3 years against AFC North foes. Maintain this record and beat the teams they should, the Steelers have the potential for 11 to 13 wins providing health stays good.
Gerry Dulac
10:36
No, they were 3-3 in 2022.

Morning Gerry.  Has anyone given an explanation for why a penalty wasn’t called on the play where Cameron Johnston was hurt and lost for the year?
Gerry Dulac
10:37
Because they ruled the Falcons guy crashed into Johnston because he was being held by Miles Killebrew
7 year drought

Gerry, I understand that Fields was making his first start as a Steeler but ignoring the middle of the field is something that has been happening since Todd Haley was shown the door. Is this a Tomlin thing? Is he living in his fears?
Gerry Dulac
10:37
He needs to have a QB who isn't afraid to do so. He has one on the roster

In the new desperation to “win” after years of frustration, I am wondering if abandoning “the plan” the Steelers always had of developing draft picks and patiently finding a drafted franchise quarterback was the right move? Picking up aging scrubs and failed players from other teams does not look like an improvement on “the plan” after all. Maybe the “win now” idea is hasty and flawed and will not pan out?
Gerry Dulac
10:38
As long as they don't sacrifice draft picks when signing some of those veterans....
