Gerry, do you agree that Trubisky's best play is a rollout pass and or run rather than a drop back pass where he has difficulty with coverage and hesitant to pull the gun?
Gerry Dulac
10:09
Trubisky is very adept at moving and throwing on the run

We keep hearing the excuse that our passing game is what it is because it’s all a defense gives us. If it were that easy wouldn’t every defense do that to every team? Is it possible our run game also struggles because the defense lines up the same to defend the run and pass… anywhere from behind the line of scrimmage to 5 yards beyond it.
Gerry Dulac
10:12
Yes, it works hand in hand. But, if the defense is putting 11 men in the box, throw over top and loosen them up. Of course, if they're not worried about an offense doing that, they'll continue stacking the box until you make them pay.
Big Sale
10:12
How about Big Ben for our next Offensive Co-ordinator? What would he say if asked to take over on an interem basis?
Gerry Dulac
10:12
The same answer if they asked him to come back and play

How would you grade out Austin as DC so far?  MT expected this D to be dominant but yet without TJ, they are at the bottom half and often bottom quarter of the league in all categories TJ is a generational player but how are they this bad without one guy, or is this on Austin?
Gerry Dulac
10:13
If you graded him after the opener, you woulda said A++. After these last two, not so much. But let's not forget who has their fingerprints all over this defense...

Hi Gerry,  We know Adams is replacing Alualu, but that doesn't necessarily mean the run defense will be better. But, will we see anything different from the Steelers in regards to how they play that we have not seen in the first three weeks?
Gerry Dulac
10:16
That's true. And we'll have to wait and see. I'm not sure it will be anything drastic or something that is detectable. I'm guessing it will be more assignment oriented.

What’s the latest on Loudermilk, a bit surprised we are heading to game 4 and we haven’t seen him, as he looked strong in pre season.  How serious is his injury (it was a rib injury… correct?)
Gerry Dulac
10:17
He is good to go I'm told. He got behind with his injury but they plan on using him going forward

What does Mike Tomlin see in Matt Canada? Is there anyway the Steelers would turn play-calling duties over to Mike Sullivan mid-season?
Gerry Dulac
10:17
Almost none.

I don’t think they should spend a first-round pick on a traditional NT, but should one be on the roster at least? Might have helped in these last two games.
Gerry Dulac
10:17
One is -- Alualu.

Has there ever been an NFL coach who lived as long as Tomlin has off of his early career success? He’s pretty much done nothing the last ten years and would have been fired by every other owner in the NFL by now.
Gerry Dulac
10:18
You mean like those playoff appearances the past two years and three of the previous four??

Mr. D... Do you get the impression Art 2 has the passion to do what it takes to keep a winning organization? or is he content being owner/president & profitable?
Gerry Dulac
10:19
I'll ask him.

Good morning Gerry. If the Steelers do not turn things around offensively, with either QB, do you see them finally going outside the organization for a NFL offensive coordinator? Thank you for you response
Gerry Dulac
10:23
I would certainly think so. If it doesn't improve, I can't imagine they would want to watch this dysfunction another year.

10:24
Gerry thanks for your chats! To me, It’s really quite simple. The Steelers don’t have enough good players, and they have historically made poor personnel decisions because they overestimate their talent and keep trying to patch things together rather than blowing things up!  This has caught up to them and we can only hope that the new talent evaluators can change their philosophy!
Gerry Dulac
10:24
I don't think you will find a lot of people who will disagree with you

I was on board with Trubisky starting for the sole purpose that maybe he played well and could catch a 2-4 round pick.  Do you think that is why the Steelers want to keep playing him ?  It’s pretty obvious he’s not significantly better than 2 or 8.
Gerry Dulac
10:25
That is not in their thinking at all.

I recall an analyst on the radio this spring saying Trubisky’s issue is reading the whole field.  The last two games he’s had decent enough line support and I’ve watched closely.  He locks in to only one side is field !  If I can see this and the analyst saw this wouldn’t the pro scouts know this as well ?  I just don’t understand the Tomlin love affair with #10.
Gerry Dulac
10:27
I haven't seen that and am not aware of that being the case. Doesn't mean that doesn't happen. But, believe me, Tomlin and his coaches and personnel people study tendencies more than some radio analyst, no matter who it is. So, if that's the case, I'm sure they know. And, if that's the case and it's a problem, I'm sure they would correct it.

Any idea how long Harvin will be out for?  I feel like losing him for a while would be a big loss considering how often this team has to punt.
Gerry Dulac
10:28
I don't think long, if at all.

Kind of silly to look at career stats from both Trubisky and Canada, and expect a bunch of improvement isn’t it? Seems to me they are who we thought they were.
Gerry Dulac
10:28
Does Canada have stats??
Ryan
10:28
I know the Steelers are reluctant to change coaches during the season but if the offense doesn't improve anytime soon how many more games before they make a change at OC? Such as giving Mike Sullivan play calling duties? Or will the they just let Canada finish out?
Gerry Dulac
10:30
I don't think it's in the Steelers' DNA to fire a coach midseason, unless there is some egregious personal/conduct issue. It is reasonable to think they might have another coach take a more active role if a unit is struggling. That has happened before

Do you think if Trubisky doesn't show significant improvement by the bye Tomlin makes a change to Pickett?
Gerry Dulac
10:30
I don't put a timetable on it. Depends on the team's record or if the offense is not improving

10:31
Seems like Adams is becoming one out most underrated signings, a diamond in the rough, do you think we may have found our NT of the future with him?
Gerry Dulac
10:31
I wouldn't refer to him as a diamond. But he has been a good street pickup.
Next Coach
10:32
I am not a big Tomlin hater, but the guy simply cannot admit a mistake and make corrections to move forward. He keeps and plays high draft picks way longer than he should, allows mediocrity (at best) from some of his coaches, and never second guesses his own in game decisions. When will this arrogance be called out by ownership?
Gerry Dulac
10:33
I get your concern, especially about the coaches, but I do have to say he often takes blame when things go wrong.
